Great video. Lot of gun tubers love the sound of their own voice more than anything. Appreciate your low key approach and the go pro footage at the range.
The shadow 2 was my first CZ and after a year of uspsa production, its proven itself and the brand to me. Picked up a P01 at a lgs and LOVED everything about it especially how the grip fits my hand. May pick one up once I finish converting the s2 to carry optics. As a side note watch that freedom munitions stuff, the 147gr was fine until it started giving me squib loads. Done with it, not willing to take anymore chances. Great review and good luck this season!
I never even noticed this on my CZ P-01 after installing the CGW Pro Package - too busy having my mind blown with every trigger pull I suppose... but yeah, you're right. Every ejected case takes essentially the same trajectory.
I have a stock P-01 decocker, which was my favorite gun until I got a CZ 75 P-10F, which has a much better trigger, especially with the shorter reset. I really don’t mind the DA pull on the P-01, but the long travel and long reset make it feel sloppy. I could Cajunize it but for the money I could buy a new P-10c for concealed.
I just got my P-01 back from a gunsmith who installed the CGW Pro Package for me. It is 10x better than stock - so much so that it’s like a different gun. It’s unreal how much better the trigger and action is. Worth every penny. You need to do it.
I have a cajunized CZ P01 Omega as well. Easily my favorite pistol I own. And outside of the fact that I have to search high and low for a decent CC holster (I have a RDS on top) I think it is the perfect carry/duty/home defense pistol. Accurate, reliable, and runs like a raped ape.
I have two different variants of this pistol. One is all steel with a manual safety, the other is aluminum framed with a decocker and tritium sights. They are both very accurate, reliable, smooth shooting pistols, and for about $650 a copy, are a bargain. All of internal parts are polished to the extent that I see no machine marks. Where do you find this level of craftmanship outside of a custom shop?
Thanks Bro - life is extra busy right now! I see you are shooting a lot of matches (a little jealous!) - I am traveling a bit, working a lot, etc. But life will slow down enough for some matches and more range time soon!
Yep, I have 16-rounders that I owned before, from a prior P-01 (non-CGW), those are black follower. I also have some 14-rounders from that pistol, and then some of the newer 15-round w/the blue follower. My rule of thumb is to have 3 range, 3 carry, 3 backup (minimum) for each pistol I own - I try to exceed that 9-total rule as often as possible :).

Nice shooting! I have a question that I couldn’t get answers anywhere but I saw you have the mecgar 15rd mag, do you know if the p01 will fit flush(no gap)with the 15rd + CZ customs +4 base plate like the oem 14rd+ czc+4?
Thanks! I'm sorry, I don't know if the new Mecgar 15 rounders work with the CZ Custom plus 4 plates. I do know that plus base plates for the factor CZ SP-01/Shadow mags will not work on the Medgar mags. If the base plates between the two (14-round factory and 15-round Mecgar) won't work, then I'd guess the +4 base plate would not work. I'll try it out later and let you know what I find.
Okay, I tried it. The Mecgar plate actually went on the CZ 14-round mag. It stayed in place, but left a little gap at the back of the magazine base. The CZ base wouldn't lock into place on the Mecgar mag, but if I had to guess, I'd say the hole was too small for the Mecgar magazine base lock to fit through. Tough to see, but probably the issue. While the mags look identical in height, I'm not 100 perc6sure you'll have no gap. The Mecgar plus 2 won6work on the CZ mags, read this:(gregcotellc.com/cart/mecgar-and-cz-plus-two-adapter-c-107/mecgar-2-adapter-not-shipped-to-restricted-states-f42099set-p-841.html).
ExxonV yeah I have also saw that thread, what I was wondering is that if the mecgar 15 rd mag for the CZ compact with the czc +4 extension installed will fit flush with no gap, in that thread you have mentioned it only demonstrated with the 14 rd magazine with the +4 extension installed. Much appreciated!
:) - it's the only holster I use for conceal carry (provided they make one for it!): comp-tac.com/mtac-premier-iwb-hybrid-holster-comp-tac/. This rig allows me to carry full size pistols comfortably all day long.
Does anyone make extended mags or magazine extensions for this? Also looking for a new weapon light. What holster are you running? I was hoping I could get the King Air Tuk Hybrid holster for this but Galco doesn’t make them for the P01...
Great question - Mec-Gar makes a plus 2 for their 15-round mags, I've tried them and they work well and get you to 17+1. I'm not sure any of the SP-01/Shadow extensions work on the CZ 14-round mags, but wouldn't be surprised if they did work. I don't have a weapon light on this one, only on my bedside setup - and weapon lights on steel or alloy frames can tend to make up the slide rail, but I do run all my CCW pistols w/night sights. Since I don't run a light on this for carry, I use the Comp-Tac Minotaur IWB holster (comp-tac.com/mtac-premier-iwb-hybrid-holster-comp-tac/). Not sure they make one for a light rig.
I'm not 100% sure which you're asking about, but there is this: gregcotellc.com/cart/cz-factory-mecgar-actmag-c-173/cz-75-compact-9mm-16-rd-magazine-kit-mgcz7516b0430177001-p-1639.html and this: www.henningshop.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1295259&CAT=10024 in the video. The Henning extension works with 17-round Shadow 2 mags (they work in the P-01), and with the P-01 15 round mags. The first link is a 16-round magazine. I hope this helps!!!
The Shadow 2 from Cajun? No comparison, the S2 is tops to me. The S2 is better stock vs. stock, and that continues for me Cajun to Cajun. The decocker models use a firing pin block, the S2 and manual safety models do not. For me, the Shadow 2 Cajun is hands down best for competition. But for carry/self-defense, the P-01 Cajun is tops for DA/SA.
Well, for conceal carry, P-01 all the way. I'd rather have the base Shadow 2 for competition, but I'd want to work on the trigger (USPSA). For IDPA, I'd be fine w/the P-01 Cajun :). To really get the best out of the CZ 75 platform, you need to do some work (or have it done, even better) to make them their best. They are great guns out of the box for sure, but with some Cajun magic, they are top of the line IMO.
The factory double-action is meant to be very heavy good for carry. If you make the DA light, that would be unsafe to carry, unless you put manual safety. I have the same pistol, I would not make any changes.
@@exxonv1719 it lists the pounds and the ounces, you were reading the ounces as a decimal at the end of the number. ex: "6.13 pounds" is actually 6lbs 13oz = 6.81 pounds

LOL - now that's funny!
Look at that BEAUTIFULLY consistent ejection pattern! CZ, the best to ever do it!
