    For the price of a Legion P226 I bought a CZ 75 Compact steel frame, installed Dawson Precision Night Sights, LOK G10 Grips, CZ Custom Stsinless Magazine Brake and Stainless Recoil Guiderod and installed Cajun Gunworks Pro Package.
    I love SIGs and have shot P229 and P226 Legions but there is no comparison ergonomically or trigger pull weight/smoothness. My CZ > SIG Legion. CZ wins and it’s not even close.

      @@darltharp525I agree with you. I own a sig p226 legion, p220 legion 10mm, and a cz 75 d pcr, and quite frankly I'm thinking of replacing the cz with a p229 legion. We will see where I end up with that but otherwise yes nothing really compares to those guns.

    I just finished my CZ P01 for carry. Replaced the grips with Lok grips, popped a Holosun 507k on the top, and dropped a CGW package in it. Also had my guy get a good polish on the internals as well. Now her SA breaks at just under 2 pounds. I mean, consistent 1lb 14oz. Time after time. Pull after pull. It is now my dream gun. So much so I am looking to purchase a 2nd. Perfect for carry, imo. A nice, long 8 pound DA pull followed by short, light, crisp follow ups.
    Overall, I have spent 650 on the gun, 300 on the sight, 300 for the trigger group and installation, and 150 for the slide milling. So it wasn't cheap to get it where I wanted it. But if you want the ultimate SA/DA carry pistol, this is it. It's a bit on the chonky side as far as concealed carry pistols go. But outside of the P01, the Rami (if you can find one) and the Baretta Px4 are really your only other options. And they're every bit as hefty to carry.

    I have a Cajunized black P-01. Fantastic gun. I just picked up a hard to find P-01 Green and will be trying the Apex kit in it very soon. Also added a set of LOK Grips to both. Very functional and they look outstanding IMO.

    I have been shooting rather well in IDPA with my P229 RX Legion ( just added a flat trigger and 19# main spring), but wanted something smaller for a DA/SA concealed carry. Bought a new RAMI (with decocker) and the trigger was OK, but just creeped badly and just not good enough. So, when I got it back from Cajun Gun Works, it was much better, but takes a little getting familiar with. The P226 has a short reset, but no take up, while the RAMI has a 2.8mm reset, but just as much take up. Both shoot very well, but the RAMI costs as much as the P226, after the Cajun Gun Works cost along with their milling for the red-dot.
    BTW, the pierce grip extension gives just enough room for a three finger grip on the short 10 round magazine. Man on Etsey mills them to fit.
    Cheers, Tony

    Cool video man.
    I also have a cajunized po1 and a sig 226 legion myself. I actually ordered the standard defensive carry package from cajun and am lucky enough to have found an excellent local gunsmith that installed the kit, had it back to me in 3 days and charged only 120 dollars! I thought that was awesome. My cz not as decked out as yours, and I use VK tactical diamond grips on mine and trijicon bright & tough tritium sights.
    I favor my cz personally, although I totally agree that the sig is every bit as nice a gun. There's just something about the p01 that causes me to wanna never put the damn thing down lol. I love it.

      I thought you made an excellent point in regards to the vertical grooves cz uses on the po1. I find it odd , especially because my sp01 does have checkering and I really wish they'd have continued that on the p01 design.
      The same style of vertical grooves are also on my CZ 97BD :( I still love em all though!
      Btw my p01 is fairly new, but I am currently approaching 4,000 x rounds through without a single malfunction.
      Conveniently it is also the handgun I shoot most accurately with consistentcy, which makes it an easy choice for my carry gun.

    Sigs are fine guns, but frankly they are always overpriced. You could maybe understand it if they were the only game in town, but a lot of other companies make fine guns (CZ being one of them) for less money. I own one gun from each of these two brands, but if/when I purchase again I would consider CZ first. Sig is quality yes, but not value.

      I think it depends on your intended use. If you have the pro package then you already have a world class firearm. You may consider the CGW 10x Bushing. This will tighten groups at longer ranges. Also you may consider a lighter recoil spring. CGW recommends a 14 lb for defense but you can go lighter for competition uses. Nice video. Question... How would you compare the grip angle of the pistols? Do you have to 'cant' your wrist more forward with one? I have a 229 Legion. I have to cant my wrist slightly forward, compared to what is natural for me (which corresponds to a 1911 grip angle). I'm wondering if the P01 (or P07, if you have any experience with those) is closer to the 1911 angle. Thanks!

      Looking Intently the cz points a little more naturally. One thing to consider is the cz has the slide stop in the area that many people will want to keep their thumbs. This can be overcome with practice. My thumb goes over the stop without applying pressure and my weak hand wrist locks.

    I am watching your channel and wondering if you ever shoot your guns. They look like new!

    • @ShootWellAndOftenSWAO
      @ShootWellAndOftenSWAO  5 років тому

      Many of the guns are brand new when i make the videos. Just like everyone else that buys a new gun and reviews them. Each of the guns here have at least 10,000 rounds through them.
      Add to the fact that I have more guns than most average people will ever have.

      From David Milam himself on the phone when he was going over the work with me. He says he gets many like that. I will take his expertise on the matter above yours and mine. I have over 30 CZs and the trigger pulls are all all over the place.

      trijigon in what way? I have placed them in the pistols a couple of times. I just put a reduced power trigger return spring in a new p07 a couple days ago. The stock has a little bit of a bad reputation.

    Comparing a full size vs a compact? Why not the sp01 vs the 226 or p01 vs 229?

    • @ShootWellAndOftenSWAO
      @ShootWellAndOftenSWAO  6 років тому +7

      Brian Manning I mentioned that in the video. I am comparing features not carry ability. And the even more simple reason is that I dont have a P229 or an SP01.

      Yes mostly. I have picked up a new SP01 tactical Urban grey. First thing you notice is the weight of the steel frame. Makes the Legion feel like a toy.

      NRiyo3 I have no doubt that you chose wisely. If you want to ever upgrade it a bit without spending a lot you might look into a CGW ultra lite kit or SRS1 kit. Let me know how it goes.

    What is the cost comparison of cajunzied P01 (including the cost of Cajun gun works) VS the 226 Legion?

    • @kagyu1
      @kagyu1 5 років тому

      Reynaldo Blanco in California , the P-01 ran me $635 with tax and fees ( DROS) . It’s cheaper in a free state. The CGW Pro package runs about $400. Less for the carry package. I can’t get a Legion here for less than double retail.

      cjpro20 Make your own video then if you feel this is biased. Or are you too simpleminded to make a video yourself. I know, you don’t own any guns yourself except for that Daisy air pistol your parents bought you for your birthday.
