Today something for fans of yamaha tracer 700, a video about how to replace spark plugs without removing the radiator.
It's not easy but doable, I have preventively deleted scenes where there were a lot of curses.
As a bonus, replacing the air filter.

Did today the same. Service guys charge me £160 for 2.5 hours of work. I did it for 2.5 hours and paid £4.49 for the 14mil nozzle to unscrew spark plugs. Thanks a lot for that video mate, very usefull.

Ridiculous amount of work to do what should be a simple task! In the early 80s, on my Suzuki GS550 (and on my Bandit 1200 a few years ago) changing all 4 plugs was a 15 minute job, without rushing! As my Tracer is running fine, I don't think I'll bother. It'll have an oil & filter change shortly, and a new battery, but that's it. If I notice any difference in performance, I'll do the plugs & filter then, but not before.

Being gynegologist or botteled ship builder is not required, but it helps
Am servicing mine bit by bit. Have to do it outside as no garage. Done the oil and filter, done the coolant. Was looking at these 2 next - seems I have to take the whole thing apart just for sparks and an air filter.

- You forgot a sequence for disassembly the 2 little red front panels. After the 2 red side panels, and before the 2 black side panels.
- If those front panel are not removed, it is not possible to access to the fifth screw of black side panel

I know what you mean, the same thing happened to me, you need to delete errors in the ECU, or buy yourself a cheap fault code eraser, or go to a dealer to do it to you

Is that a restricted bike? I ask because of the snorkel on the air filter. I've just watched a video where it was replaced with a DNA filter that had a large hole instead.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to show it to you because I sold my Yamaha 2 years ago, but to delete the service message you need an ECU reader, a phone and an application for the reader.

I would like to know,.. with how many kms, you did this revision,.. that is, these candles, how many kms will run!? because I have a mt 07, and I will also do an identical review,. oil,.. filters,..and once I have to dismantle everything, maybe it's better to change the spark plugs,..the bike is 2 years old and 15,000 kms, what do you think? not year but distance determinate service: normal spark change 15 000km, if spark are platinium change 40 000km.
Hi , would it be possible to change air filter by only lifting the tank up as shown at 2:19 ?
I think it's possible, I just wonder if it makes sense
@@MotoAndyi mean , the disassembly of the full tank is something i look up against! Thats why , and i only want to change my airfilter to a k&n one.
If you have small hands, try it, the filter should fit, but it will be difficult to unscrew it.
Hi, how many Nm on spark plugs?
Spark plugs 8mm - 8 to 10 Nm spar plugs 10mm - 10 to 12 Nm
12mm - 15 to 20 Nm
Does this bike use Iridium plugs?
The one you took out looks ok, doesn’t it?
After how many km did you preform this replacement?

Great work but it's bullshit how they are designing these modern bikes,basic servicing should be easy, my old CB500 was so easy to work on, this puts me off modern bikes. that plus all the tech that's just going to go wrong and require a trip to a main dealer.

Thanks Andy 👍 my 13 years old Kawa Versys 650 is much easier to handle than Facer, it,s time to change it, but looking how difficult it is for Tracer.. I will think seriously on buying the new versys instead.
You're right, the tracer is fun to ride, but very compact which makes it difficult to service unfortunately
With enough cursing one will eventually succeed.
