    There is a switch on the controller that must be in the correct position for the firmware update to work. In our testing, it was already set to allow updates. If you attempt to update the firmware and it fails, try flipping the switch a rerunning the update.

      @@sandrahill2911 When trying to begin the framing operation, make sure the machine is at the home position in the upper left. If not, it will assume that it is located there and we’ll try to leave the machine’s perimeters. The driver is located in the video description above. I have to use a prior version of the lightbulb software to run without issues though. Good luck!

      @lightburnsoftware7189  Рік тому

      Typically if the design is backwards it means that the origin is set incorrectly. There are 4 options. At the time of recording back left was used for the origin with this machine. Front left is the most common for diode lasers. Whichever you currently have it set to try the other of the mentioned two. That should resolve it.

      Did you change the origin? The origin for the xTool D1 (at the time of making the video was set to the top left). If you have it set to a different corner in LightBurn it would mirror the image/engraving. If you do have it set to top left, they may have changed something so trying the bottom left would be my next step.
      The most common cause for a mirrored image is incorrect origin setting. If you are still having issues pleas reach out to us at support@lightburnsoftware.com

      In what way are the cuts imperfect? If the lines are strait (meaning lines in line mode) then for cutting you would just be raising power, lowering speed, and potentially running multiple passes. If you are needing to dial in settings for a specific material a material test grid is going to be your best bet.

    I just bought an xtool D1pro. With my Lightburn everything is running backwards. I tried to install the 340 driver file but the laptop tells me I have to do something with the cloud before I can install it. @@lightburnsoftware7189
      True. It goes left corner. But it’s treating the back of the work space as if it’s the front.
      I put a small test design at the bottom of the work grid on screen and the laser went to the back to cut.
      When I moved the design to the top of the screen grid the laser came to the front but didn’t cut. Proximity alarms went off and it was still about an inch from the front frame. It’s leaving me with about a 12 in work space
      In Lightburn when you have it search for a laser, it gives you a choice of home position. I picked left front but it always defaults to left back. That I guess I can’t change, no problem. I’d just like my screen grid location and work table location to be the same and not opposite.
      My old laser is a Atezr. Runs great for a 20 watt but slow as hell. To cut through 1/8” bass wood it’s six passes at 10 inches per minute and 97% power. Some of my projects with that machine takes six hours or more. Not good for sales. I supply a gift shop in another town.

      This is going to depend on what you are engraving and the desired look of the engraving. My recommendation would be to run a test grid for your material. This will allow you to see what speeds you can run to still get a deep/dark engrave. This is under Laser Tool --> Material Test

      The most common cause of a mirrored engraving is that the origin is not set correctly. I would start with the top left for the origin and if that is mirrored they may have changed the origin in their firmware. Use a piece of scrap material and try the different origins until you find the one that gives you the correct orientation.

    I bought an XTOOL D1 engraving machine. I have an ORTUR roller, but it cannot be used when it is installed on the D1 engraving machine. Because the D1 engraving machine is not open source, I cannot change the motor parameters, which is very inconvenient for consumers.

      I believe they are both using fairly standard stepper motors. It is possible that the wiring is just different between the two. It may be better to go with the xTool specific one though than to risk damaging something on the laser.

    There is definitley something not right with LightBurn reading my Xtool D1. I have Windows 10. I've set up LightBurn exactly as you have described in the video...only in my case I've got the build #2. I also now installed XCS from Xtool because of the RA2. I've followed the instruction to the letter on this video. But no matter what I do...LightBurn will tell the laser to move the lower right...I'm in Absolute Coord. and yes, I've put the laser head top left before turning on. It will not frame in the same place twice. I've 9 hits on the gantry, and it through the gantry totally off square. I fixed that part...and now in the settings work place I did not put in 432 mm x 406 mm for work size. I entered 399 mm x 406. That did stop the laser going into the rail when framing. I do not know if the board circuitery is wrong or what. The laser works just fine in XCS...however, I also have a Lightburn Camera that I can't use if I go with XCS; and in LightBurn it worked one time and after that...it would not move the laser????? I'm perplexed at where to go to from here? Believe me when I tell you....Newbies such as myself...do not want to go with LightBurn because they are hearing how folks just don't get it. This is not a criticism guys...but your Software will do fine with many laser types...that is good.

    • @lightburnsoftware7189
      @lightburnsoftware7189  2 роки тому

      It is possible that xTool has changed something in their controller or firmware that has changed how it behaves. I have not heard of any issues with controlling but I have heard of some weird things with the rotary which is something that you mentioned here.
      I am almost wondering if when the RA2 is used it is changing part of the firmware configuration through XCS. It should be only changing in software. If it worked one time then something definitely has changed.
      I would start by deleting the current device in LightBurn and downloading the LightBurn device config from xTool to start from square 1. Then move the laser to the back left, power on the. machine, and see how it behaves.

      There is a switch located near the reset button on the D1. When viewed from the top, the switch is labeled "upload". The switch needs to be switched away from the reset button so the firmware can be updated. If the switch is in the position towards the reset button, then the firmware will not update because the machine is write protected. Information about this is not in the D1 manual, but many youtube videos on the D1 talk about this
