I am from Darjeeling in West Bengal. During my entire 4 years of preparation for upsc from Delhi, Laughter of people about my Hindi accent was prevalent, Despite having a decent Hindi accent. I feel the pain of the people who find it even a slight difficulty in communicating in Hindi. And here debate is only about north vs south and their perspective. How about what east and northeast feels about it..?
Chetan sir and Abhishek sir both look so alike that I always thought they are same person. I have been following the Hindu analysis session for last 3 months. They both are just amazing. Got to learn so much!
As sarmad sir told தமிழ் (tamil) such a beautiful language and origin for many languages and taught so much literature and value system but I like to learn many tribal languages and even if I need Hindi I love to learn. Love languages as you want not one but many don't hate or harm spread love and United by an identity INDIAN
Why i am blushing while watching this debate❤ Really a mindfulness debate it was Thoroughly enjoyed, thank you😊 Please continue in all the major issue's
"English should be the National Language of India". Hindi speakers think that this country is for them, that's why, "English and Hindi" are official language. Hindi is for them and English is for non-Hindi speakers, this is discrimination with non Hindi speakers.😢 জয় বাংলা 💪
17:52 with all due respect, i humbly disagree with the point being raised here. Bangalore and Hyderabad's development should ve attributed to visionaries such as S.M.Krishna and Chandrababu Naidu. The ecosystem created by the local administration had led to the development and economy. Talent from various parts of the country could come and thrive here.
Sarmad sir & Chethan sir are a deadly combo. Both are so articulate, calm and confident. When they speak it immediately grabs our attention and we are forced to listen to them intently. I really wish, pray that both start a separate podcast series and also teach PSIR optional.
language should not be the matter of debate in 21st century specially for INDIA there can be a better debate on the topic how can we enhance or expand the understanding of more and more languages and how can we expand the scope of translation of each language that exist in INDIA and if INDIA want to become developed by 2047 and VISHWA GURU then we must show the power of our beautiful diversity to all over the world and try to enhance harmony and prosperity among us all because we all are INDIAN and nothing and no one has the power to divide us
Great initiative by unacademy, must continue with many important issues and controversial issues revolving around upsc. It's great to watch the unacademy english team everytime 😊
37:47 the way Samad sir asking is amazing. Great work Unacademy. Don’t call the word Bimaru just because of poor and unstable govt. these states are behind southern part of India.
Such a wonderful initiative❤. Kindly continue this kind of debate in various important issues in india with respect to UPSC Cse. Thank you all my favourite faculties🎉❤
Good to see them( my favourite teachers) in one frame Very beautiful debate My take on this matter is "NO language should be the national language" because why are we called Indian because of unity of diversity including language is the one of the most important parameters of it. Every State have thier local/vernacular language if we are going decide Hindi & let's matter any language as a national language it's mean imposition over other language at the same time we are not neglected to hindi which promoted promoted by union is mentioned U/A 351 , for instance ,if two or three talking to each other let them decide in which language they want communicate to each other ...
I just want to put my thoughts 1. If there is a aspect of mini languages like Tulu, Coorgi diminishing in the shadow of Kannada, same is the case with other languages diminishing under the umbrella Hindi. 2. For a certain section of hindi speaking migrants people coming into southern Indian states, learning hindi by all itself is disparity. And it's imposition. 3. Hindi as a link language lags very much in academic terms like scientific terms but English serves this purpose. In this regard it would be difficult to learn for southern states people to learn Hindi as a link language, English as a academic language. 4. Imagine a student(from southern state) failing in Hindi and scoring well in core subjects still held back in terms of marks and promoting to next class. We are already having this case. 5. Southern states still lacks in political representation just because population is the only criteria for the delimitation process. We need more criteria like progress, contribution to development, historical significance etc in delimitation process.
As an aspirant we are never short of resources for current affairs but yet for the quality debates, thoughts and POV on significant issues. That's the need of the hour. Thanks for the initiative UNACADEMY TEAM , keep doing it.
Wowww..... debate was really wonderful and the same way very funny😆 All our 7 angels are unique in their perspectives. Waiting for more such interesting topics.
Wow just wow ❤❤ what a holistic discussion this is ,kudos to all pannelists my point is simple let the language of indiviual for communication should be decided on its own state should not interfere in it and we as a people of india we should respect all languages and dilacts i wish our mainstream media can also provide such holistic discussion
Ok really interesting debate But from my side 3 languages formula is good one ❤ So respect all the languages As a hindi speker i am proudly say that Tamil , Kannada, telgu all are beautiful language. Respect
Thankyou so much to all the teachers This type ofdebate gave a more dimension to think logical and change mindset ....what a amazing session with best mentors ❤❤❤......
I loved this debate! It is rare to find debates where everyone is respectful and has logical arguments! And on top of that, there are five amazing mentors here!!!!! What a delight to watch!
Being a person from Tamilnadu, I can say that Tamils try to speak broken native languages of the states that we visit. The only thing we hate is blatant imposition of Hindi upon us.
It was really a beautiful interaction. My opinion in this as Mukesh sir told about link languages English is already there for that, and in Bengaluru most of them tries to learn English though i know Hindi i won't speak it because i only making them not interested in learning our language if they comes to karnataka where official language is kannada , our self respect aswell as ego also kicks in, there starts hatred and so many people are reluctant to learn rather they will try to impose so the hatred starts. even Our C M Siddaramayya's points are correct w r t finance devolution no body listens to him because of many reasons so many instances and examples are there. I liked overall conclusion from everyone espessially from Sarmad sir and Shyam sir.
Waoo Sir .. I live in Bangalore and preparing UPSC CSE . I was feeling as my problems of mistreatment ,discrimination and road rashes due to languages has been discussed here . great Topic.. #Should be shared to all.
Linguistic Nationalism and Linguistic Chauvinism are both equally berserk concepts! Respecting each other's culture and accepting diversity are the features that made India the melting pot of civilisations. We must never let go of these fundamental features of Indian society by falling into the trap of political entities!

My frank opinion about this discussion I totally agree to accept Hindi as link language, equally local language should not be disrespected by the migrants which causes evening causing lot of issues in southern part.

The current linguistic status quo should be maintained. Imposing a national or link language is unnecessary as individuals can naturally find ways to communicate and connect. If one cannot adapt to such a system, they have the option to disengage from the state.

There is no need to impose one language as national language. Excellent dabate sir/mam

Unacademy has taken all of the Byjus's faculty it seems. Abhisehb Mishra, Jha sir, Shyam Sir, Mehraj, etc...❤
Conclusion: no need to impose. Let hindi spread through diffusion. Piece meal approach.
The current linguistic status quo should be maintained. Imposing a national or link language is unnecessary as individuals can naturally find ways to communicate and connect. If one cannot adapt to such a system, they have the option to disengage from the state.
Thank you for this debate sir...we need more these kind of sessions please

that was such a healthy debate 😊👍
15:24 what if the language extincts
The languages should be cherished there's no harm in learning the language.
From their point of view they are proud of their language.
But using force is another factor.
first of all my heartfelt respect to these teachers who made my preparation smooth as well as made my personality also by giving so many perspective in my view and opinion ...
according to me this language debate is something which used by political class as well as activist and moral thinker also, but no one is ready to give solution because it is really difficult for a nation like India where unity in diversity has existed.
for the swiftness it is incorrigible to northern as well as southern state to learn each others language for at least a very long time so that it will give smoothness in economy , shifting culture in job sector and cultural binding also.
if we look at English language , extreme use of this language gave us the space to use this language as linking language even when the language is just a byproduct of colonialism. Then why we are not ready to promote one of our language to use in this extreme level which will help us to utilize an Indian language as national language?it will not only promote one of our language in global level but also it will help us to preserve our language by cutting the pressure of one colonial language. language stays when we use it and not with pillars and so on. so it made me really sad when I saw Indians who are ready to accept one colonial language as linking language rather than using one Indian language as linking language to show their love for nation and mother land and owns language. we need to learn each other language from school so that it generates love to the other part of the nation and also helps during migration . language war shows state-hood, region-hood but we need to remember to generate Nation-Hood more than that. if we think that learning different parts language will force over native language to extinct we can think about counter balancing of that force by introducing that language to the other part as well.. and after this extensive use we will be able to take decision which language to use as national language.
so using and learning each others language will not only help in economy and jobs but will also help in reducing cultural lag , cultural gaps, political gap and inrease inclusivity in every sector and will promote patriotism and nation hood.
Language is just a means of communication, nothing more than that... Let the individual decide in which language he/she wants to interact..
sir, my take on this topic is that makers of our constitutions envisaged hindi to be a medium of common communication. Art 351 directs union to 1. promote use of hindi language 2. enrich hindi by encorporating vocabulary from all the languages . as it was done in italy , enrichment of one dilect to make it italian language paved way for unification of Italy . as hindvi language in past was symbol of hindu muslim unity, if directive of article 351 is followed, Hindi can serve as symbol of unity of indian nation
Very constructive discussion.. hat's off all of you sir .❤❤❤
I fully enjoy your debate session sir😊😊😊😅 its a very good debate, I don't feel irritating... 😊
Very intellectual argument 👏
No imposition whatsoever. Let's keep the status quo as it is or promote all the major languages equally.
Thnk u for giving me this opportunity to hear
Abhishek sir is in very funny mood😂😂😂😂
