Absolutely enthralled by this exceptional interview! Massive shoutout to ANI and Smita Prakash Ji for orchestrating such an insightful session and sharing a full 3-hour dive with us. I was blissfully unaware of Rajat Ji's influential connections across various political spectrums until now. This piece not only serves as an eye-opener regarding the turbulent times during the emergency but also underscores a powerful message - when you stand firm in your beliefs and aim with clarity, the sky's the limit. This interview is a goldmine for all those interested in Indian history from the 1970s. Though I've read about the entire opposition being jailed during the Emergency hearing first person narrative gives it gravitas. Respect for genuine journalism and Rajat Sharma 🙏
Mr Rajat Sharma had come to the Tech Fest of IIT Kharagpur (called Kshitij) in January 2014. He gave one and half hour lecture on his life and struggles. I still remember that lecture and it continues to inspire me.
What a man, What a magnificent journey. From not having food on the table in earlier days to running India's one of the leading news channels. His views on Media freedom were quite fascinating to me, i have only heard about the dictatorship-kind behavior of the current government, but he opened up a whole new kind of idea, and my take towards all these allegations has changed. He has been in the industry for a very long period and his views are very appropriate I feel. His experience is teaching a lot of things to all youngsters like me, I am also an aspiring journalist, learned a lot from him. Thank you @ANI News for this podcast, and special thanks to Smita Ma'am for asking quality questions. And lastly @Rajat Sharma Sir you are an inspiration to me, thank you for unfolding deep insights about the world of journalism, Best wishes to you sir.
Goodness, great to know the unknown side of Rajat and a very well respected man and a person. Accidentally found this and I stayed till morning to finish the show without sleep. Every bit of this show was worth, felt like someone finally did Rajat’s interview in Aap ki adaalat. Long overdue. Thank you Smita, you too were lovely like a sister, honest and lovely. Felt like two people in our family talking Wonderful show. Congratulations ! Mark it, it would be a video of great value in history.
Probably the best podcast I’ve listened to! What a man …. Rajat Sharma…. We grew up watching AAP ki Adalat and never knew the journey. Well done, Sir!! So proud and inspired to listen to this.❤ Smita Prakash…. Well done to you too!! 🎉
I am 52 yr old sobo lady grew up watching few shows of aapki adalat was always a mystery behind this man ….my grand dad was rss heard few stories my mom is related to RJ then law minister Atal Behari pramod Sushma Jaitley all hold tremendous respect so have grown up hearing and watching them and today watching this Rajat Sharma true to the core immense respect shows 🇮🇳🙏👏😎🙏
Oh my god, can't thank enough to ANI for conducting this interview.. it was hell of a lecture, movie, documentry everything.. Got to know the real value of this men
I liked this very much. From the beginning I have been watching Rajatji on TV. Even today, whenever I shift to a news channel intermittently or exclusively my fingers first press the channel number of India TV only. My best wishes to Rajatji.
These days its difficult for people to watch movies of more than 2 hrs length, but I sat through this 3hr+ podcast and it felt like a cool breeze So smooth, so fluent, it was a breath of fresh air Rajat Ji is such a great storyteller, really loved this podcast, Thank you Smita Ji !
I have never sat through a bollywood movie for three hours and I sat through this 3 plus hour conversation. I live in the US and I have probably watched a total of 30 minutes of AKA show but never took it seriously. Now I am a fan of Rajat Sharma and look forward to watching his archives of AKA. Wonderful interview by you Smita Prakash and I absolutely loved the chemistry between the two of you. Thanks
only there was no need to use the word " sexy " in his first line . also i wish he had told something about what happened when he left home . did he keep in touch with his parents and siblings and helped them when he was growing in his life and doing well ? he has only talked a little about his wife . what happened to his mother who was not well and did he help his family when he started earning ?
😢I can completely relate to Rajat Sharma's poverty but I am 20 years younger growing up in similar circumstances in Bangalore. I could relate myself to VS Naipaul's "An area of Darkness". Such was the destitution that British landed us in, after a long spell of loot by British with impunity, which was unfortunately perpetrated by Nehruvian Socialism. I could see Rajatji resisting tears in the beginning, I have my eyes wet now.
Arun Jaitley was a very rich man and so is Vijay Goel. Tata and Birla group were created during British rule. By your logic all these people became rich because of the British? From where do you get these ideas?
@@Achintyanathfrom where you get all these perceptions, he said British and Nehruian looted our nation. Isme itne mirchi kyu lag gaya. Do you know who existed before - British or Tata/ biral in this country?
Woooow!! What an interview!? Not a single minute tiring or boaring. Excited to listen everything. Thank you for this program. Keep it up. 👌🏼👌🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🙏🏻 I think it's a longest interview in length wise?? Congratulations to you Smita. 😊😊
Most ordinary people like me always believed he was an excellent tv anchor...thats all... But with this interview with Smitaji it is as if all skeltons hv fallen out from.cup board .... Eye opener he's not an ordinary person... Very interesting and genuine with a real tough childhood... Real rags to riches with abudant experience... His life biography is most ideal to be made into movie... He has become a great man in all our minds....
When I saw it’s a 3 hour long poadcast, but for Rajat sir is started and I it felt like 30 mints 🔥❤️what a journey what a life this man has seen and he deserve each thing he has now 🎉
For a newspaper lover, avid reader, like me, it was the journey down the memory lane ,got to hear about so many political leaders , journalists and about their personal traits. also..Thanks to Smita ji and Rajat ji for this candid conversation.
Smitha ji, namaskara from Karnataka. This was by far the best Podcast I've seen. I've had very huge respect for Rajat ji, but after this, he will be an example. Thank you so much 🙏
So much authentic, simplicity and straightforwardness true to self of Rajat Sharma sir.We need such journalists more and more in today's media not crash and fake ones we see
What a fantastic interview. I'm hooked. @Smitaji, you are not just interviewing, you are recording history for future generations and telling stories that need to be told
bohot acha Mashallah--I love the anchor-she is so soft spoken and she allows her guest to speak-And what a selection of guest-!!!!-wish you all the best--I think I have become your fan-very pleasant program
One of the best interview ever seen … thank you to enlighten about the dark days of emergency which we were unaware… The Emergency in India was a 21-month period from 1975 to 1977 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had a state of emergency declared across the country. On the advice of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed proclaimed a state of national emergency on 25 June 1975 .. hats off to Rajat Sharma
It was a marathon episode, but I watched it all in one streak. It was really a top-notch episode, I must say. Mr. Rajat Sharma's journey and the values he holds as a journalist are truly commendable. He's someone worth looking up to. Hats off to him!
Good to know about Rajat ji as a person and his life. One common characteristic with both rajat ji and Smita ji is that they maneuver questions in smart way without making it awkward for the person being interviewed.
Can’t believe I watched the entire 3 hrs Panditji is absolutely amazing and his journey is super inspiring. Honestly, one can make a feature film based on just these 3 hrs of interaction 😊
I am an 80s born child and i am loving this podcast Era, but this podcast is superbly amazing with Rajatji. Yes, he is right people love him for his work, amazing person and personality. Proud of you air❤. Thank you Smita ji for the podcast ❤
By far one of the best episodes of 2024. Rajat Sharma ji is a Platinum mine. His experiences / learnings and his ethics are at a different level and definitely is a benchmark for all journalists . His experiences should be taught to aspiring journalists in mass communication courses. Lastly to the journalist cronies of Congress / CPM / TMC / SP etc., pull up your socks atleast now and start reporting facts of the national welfare schemes / laws instead of spreading rumors.
Such an wonderful podcast .I was nistalgic when Rajatji spoke of his experiences during emergency, when constitution was in " Kathrea mea" Hats off Rajatji What an honest person and to have the fortune of friendiship and conaradeire with Arun Jaitleyji

I was a third year student in delhi university in 1977 when rajat sharma was general secretary of DUSU. At that point of time we always thought that these DUSU leaders are all rich brats belonging to financially strong background but realised now after watching this podcast the real background of Rajat. Though always admired him for his show aap ki adalat and was always impressed with the way he had the comfort of asking tough questions to all bigwigs with so much of comfort and still maintain good relations with all of them. After watching this podcast have realised that GOD has made a path for every individual and events happen in life based on such path though hard work and effort have their own place to get the rewards. Very inspiring interview and thanks to smita for making a choice to invite rajat and also thanks to rajat for sharing his life journey so honestly. Pray to GOD to bring back those times of DELHI UNIVERSITY back so that we can get a chance to experience the leadership of such persons like rajat.
Modiji has indeed taken the bar to another level- his comments towards the end about Modiji are so so so true .. biggest problem of our certain sections (who are also corrupt and devious) is to create news fear with promoting lies in public and creating fear about erosion of institutions under 3rd term of BJP etc etc However our public is not stupid they can now SEE and feel for themselves the real positive changes under Modiji which never ever happened under the previous governments to this extent and it s clearly evidenced by the data and numbers achieved under Modiji in last 10 years .. salute you Smota and Rajatji for this amazing session … watching this from Australia
To all those people who complain about “undeclared emergency” today: please watch this. 1976 was the real emergency & nothing can come even close to it. Thanks to khangress.
Smitaji, I have been following your podcast from Australia, it is kind my window to what’s happening in my country.. I do try and make my only daughter watch it with me as much as I can.. this show has re ignited the belief that our upbringing in the 70’s with these values of respect, honesty , professionalism and friendship. Really thankful for this long interview
Great episode!!! I couldn’t realize I spent 3 hours on a podcast. Bharath is fortunate to have great human being, person with great moral values and role model like you. Thanks Rajat ji and Smita ji for this podcast🙏.
Mr Rajath ji statements felt like reading a book. The way he speaks is so soothing to listen to. A request to Rajath ji, please start a podcast of yours as well 🙏
God bless you, Shatam jeevema sharadah... Smita ji and ANI, This is the bestest greatest podcast i have ever come across. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you so much.
Aaj tak ka best episode hai Smita ji. Yeh admi ko hum itna chahte hai, hum inko itna samman karte hai. The way he has opened up in this program and handled this podcast, is amazing
Before watching this i saw movie Atal and can relate to so many things he talked about in the first half of the episode. He has been a gentleman and knew everybody yet so humble. I think God has stopped making human beings like Rajat Sharma. Thank you Smita Prakash for hosting him, this is probably the first podcast I watched which is more than 3 hours and worth every minute.
Rajath Sharma jee is always superb I have been a big fan of Sir, from my childhood Today I came to know the whole Persona of Rajath Sharma Jee... Smitha jee app tho great hi You are the shaan of Karnataka. Aapaka podcast ithna simple rahatah hai ki lagtha hai Ghar me apne Maa Behan ke saath baath cheet ho raha hai. But Madam what I absorbed is day by day you are looking younger & younger that's only because of your Honesty and clean heart, Stay Blessed Both 💐 💐 💐
Enjoyed this episode. Must have been nostalgic for Smitaji also as they both belong to the same era. I too recollected a lot of things ever since the evolution of Indian television. Many of you senior journalists have stayed put due to the type of journalism they followed all these years. Thanks
OMG, What an interview of an accomplished journalist, scholar, leader and human being. Rajat Sharma is such an icon and inspirational and patriotic Indian for people all around the world. Thanks for this discussion which provided a unique insight into his personal and professional lives which are intertwined with momentous events in India's democratic history. Really indebted to you, Smita Ji and Rajat Ji for this interview 🙏🙏
Really true and nice interview with Mr. Rajath Sharma. I am senior citizen of 68 years old and I am a regular viewer of the program Aap Ki Adalath. But I never knew he too had struggled a lot in his personal life like me. Because I lost my father at the age of eight years old and my mother brought up all of us i.e four children me being the eldest. I had to leave Bangalore for the sake of getting an apprenticeship training in the Kirloskar group of companies in Harihar in year 1974. From then on I struggled a lot to come up in life. I returned to Bangalore and joined a German engineering firm which encouraged me to learn German language. Then on I didn't look back in my career even today still my profession is in demand. In fact last year I worked for one of the prestigious project of Saudi Aramco with the best remuneration package. I am not a qualified engineer from any university. But still I am in the job market till date. But after hearing the above interview I was just taken back compared to Rajath Sharma. Thank you very much for the interview program and convey all my wishes to him when you feel free. My name is Subba Rao Sathyanarayana from Bangalore.
It's like seeing 50 years of Indian political history in just 180 minutes ... What a man !! Note : We as Zen Z don't understand how incredibly gut wrenching the times of Emergency was. This interview is like a revelation of what exactly is dictatorship.
Wonderful show!! Remarkable podcast, the style of the podcast is excellent and exhaustive.Nice to learn the real Panditji Rajat Sharma. Fabulous one just super
In these days where the standard and value of journalism have gone down to mere gimmicks, it is gratifying to see that there exists journalists like Smitha Prakash and Rajat Sharma who not only uphold the ethics of the profession but also give a lot of valuable inputs to enlighten the public. Keep it up.
Smita ji and Rajat ji have contributed their the best in this Podcast. This valuable contribution is somewhat a history of journalism right from 1977 to this period.Young scholars of journalism must watch this Podcast to enhance their knowhow in this field.

रजत शर्मा आप की अदालत में सरल भाषा में कम बोलकर नेताओं से बहुत कुछ कहलवाँ देते है। आप की अदालत इंटरव्यू के क्षेत्र में ब्रांड है।

These days its difficult for people to watch movies of more than 2 hrs length, but I sat through this 3hr+ podcast and it felt like a cool breeze
So smooth, so fluent, it was a breath of fresh air
Rajat Ji is such a great storyteller, really loved this podcast, Thank you Smita Ji !
Thanks
I urge every ABVP member to watch and share this as much as you can...

only there was no need to use the word " sexy " in his first line . also i wish he had told something about what happened when he left home . did he keep in touch with his parents and siblings and helped them when he was growing in his life and doing well ? he has only talked a little about his wife . what happened to his mother who was not well and did he help his family when he started earning ?
Why only ABVP members? Every sensible person would learn many things from this website.

I agree❤❤🎉🎉
Arun Jaitley was a very rich man and so is Vijay Goel. Tata and Birla group were created during British rule. By your logic all these people became rich because of the British? From where do you get these ideas?
@@Achintyanathfrom where you get all these perceptions, he said British and Nehruian looted our nation. Isme itne mirchi kyu lag gaya. Do you know who existed before - British or Tata/ biral in this country?

Most ordinary people like me always believed he was an excellent tv anchor...thats all... But with this interview with Smitaji it is as if all skeltons hv fallen out from.cup board .... Eye opener he's not an ordinary person... Very interesting and genuine with a real tough childhood... Real rags to riches with abudant experience... His life biography is most ideal to be made into movie... He has become a great man in all our minds....
Exactly. I always thought of him as just a very good TV anchor!
Rajat sharma is brand of journalism...being an ABVP member , he enculcate morales, values and ethics....

Can’t believe I watched the entire 3 hrs
Panditji is absolutely amazing and his journey is super inspiring.
By far the best Rajat Sharma interview. Lots of doubts cleared. Thanks a lot not cutting to reducing time. We appreciate it.
Such an wonderful podcast .I was nistalgic when Rajatji spoke of his experiences during emergency, when constitution was in " Kathrea mea"

Very insightful podcast, learned about emergency struggles and Rajat Sharma inspiring journey.
Modiji has indeed taken the bar to another level- his comments towards the end about Modiji are so so so true .. biggest problem of our certain sections (who are also corrupt and devious) is to create news fear with promoting lies in public and creating fear about erosion of institutions under 3rd term of BJP etc etc
However our public is not stupid they can now SEE and feel for themselves the real positive changes under Modiji which never ever happened under the previous governments to this extent and it s clearly evidenced by the data and numbers achieved under Modiji in last 10 years .. salute you Smota and Rajatji for this amazing session … watching this from Australia
