I'm a student and have been torn between getting a reMarkable 2 or Boox note air 3c. The main things I want to do on it are: Download study materials (mainly module books) to make notes and diagrams onto the document. And be able to convert my written notes into text which I can put into office 365 for word documents and occasionally power point for essays. Does anybody have any advice? I'd greatly appreciate any help.
I own both devices, and I usually gravitate toward the Remarkable 2 more when I'm writing and annotating PDF documents, because it just feels quicker and easier to pick up and use. It does lack the customizability that the Note Air 3C has, though; so I usually use the Air 3C when I'm doing more in-depth work and want to control how I view the document (sharpen the contrast, etc.). The Air 3C is, of course, more versatile. You can do pretty much anything on it, and there's the added benefit of it being in color. The Remarkable 2 does less, but it feels like it does it in a more "quality-feeling" kind of way. So, I guess if both devices are able to do what you outlined above, it would come down to whether you prefer the versatility and customization that the Boox ecosystem allows for (and the color), or the "no distractions" paper-like feel and simple, more efficient device that does what you need it to do but not more. Another thing to note is the Remarkable 2 doesn't have a front/back light, while the Air 3C does. I'm maybe not the best person to ask which one to choose, since I got both because I wasn't able to choose just one lol but if you have any specific questions about either device that might help you choose, I am happy to answer!
@@littleredbird Thanks for the reply that was really helpful. Just a couple of questions do you happen to know whether the Boox has the ability to convert notes to text like the reMarkable can? And also are the documents you make on the Boox compatible with office 365? I've seen that the reMarkable subscription gives you access to the Microsoft Dropbox so I assume you can use office with it? Again thank you very much for your help so far. I'm very much a noob when it comes to e-ink tablets.
With all my respect, 3 onyx ebooks enter the top 5, with 2 on the top 2? I bought onxy color tab 10 months ago and now it is put aside already. The after images are disturbingly strong and long; the response rate to tabbing is extremely slow; you wait half a second or so; the shell texture gives you a feeling of two decades ago. Worse still the battery drains quickly if you turn on the backlight: every one or two minutes you see the battery drops one percent and it drains out as a matter of two hours or so. But if you don’t turn it on, the background is not white enough. But don’t take my words. Follow this UA-camr’s advice and buy one onyx. This UA-camr should provide a link to Onyx and let people buy it through his video. This would make his case even stronger, if not weaker!😊
This man makes Linus sound like a calm monk in deep state meditation. TONE IT DOWN!

Just an advertisement for all the devices. Nothing new.
Agree, just repeat of the advertisement. Even with the Note 3C, he still said that the battery is good.

Excellent List, make Me decide, Thanks!!!
The one thing I always wished my paperbacks had - a camera. Kudois for having a Remarkable 2 link that actually works.

No mention of Ratta Supernote? Are you serious?
Seems like AI didn't find it in recommended list.
