    Terrific travel ideas! I also bring an Earth Breeze Laundry Sheet in a snack size zip lock bag in case I need to wash out something. You can easily rip the sheet to use 1/4 of a sheet to wash something in the sink. I’m ordering several of your suggestions for my grand daughter who travels a lot for sports and for her 4H show pigs. She’s a girlie girl and loves her jewelry and bling. I know she will love that magnetic pill box for her earrings & a couple necklaces. That little mirror will also be used for putting in contacts and her makeup. I travel with my quilting buddies so I’ll be using lots of your suggestions too like that fan! Thank you for sharing your travel tips! 🥰

      Thank you! I have seen the laundry sheets, but never tried them. So, I will have to do that, thanks for the tip! I hope your Granddaughter loves these travel items as much as I do. And the fan is a MUST for your next trip, it's such a life saver!

    I use multiple contact lenses cases for face wash, face scrub, face cream, Vicks, Vaseline, etc… just enough for a week to 10 days for me using both L and R for the creams and lotions. 5 packs a dollar tree, and a marker to write the contents. Works great when other stuff has to go in the quart size bag.

    Instead of the tide pen, i use the shout wipes. They come in a packet and not only do they remove whatever you spill, they also work as a stain remover because it stays on the spill and when you wash the item it already has stain remover on it. I recently subscribed and am having a great time watching your videos. I have looked for a long time for someone more like me when packing and small travel items. Lol any store we go in my husband knows we will end up at the travel size stuff in the store.

    • @ThickGirlzGuide

      Interesting, I will have to try the Shout wipes! When traveling, the smaller the better and when things have more than one use, that's a win.

    That is so accurate about Europe! We were out in Paris and it was beautiful then out of nowhere it started POURING 😮😮😮. The hotel had given my friend an umbrella but it was so bad it broke on him! Thankfully we didn’t get soaked and it went back to sunny but lesson learned always keep an umbrella over there 😂

    I also purchased shampoo in a soap bar. They have in Amazon the shampoo and conditioner. If you are planning a trip to Asia, purchase the soap sheets and toilet covers. They normally do not put hand soap in their bathrooms. I found that even in the US some household do not use hand soap!!! I love the portable fan/flashlight and charger. I will check it out because I also want the fan noise to sleep. On a cruise ship, it’s essential to take a flashlight too. But since all Apple phones have one integrated, you might now need to take one. Another one of my favorites are shower caps. I buy them at the dollar store. Most hotels and cruise ship no longer provide you with shower caps. Thanks for the great ideas.

    I use zipped clear vinyl pencil cases when I travel - one for a pared down make up kit, with nail clippers, tweezers, nail file, emery boards, one for hair clips, grips, bands, and a pair of scissors. comb with three rows of teeth so brush- like. A very small mirror, plain and magnifying for doing hair and make up. Dental - I have short toothbrushes and tiny tubes of toothpaste (as per airline give aways) which go into a tall slim beaker with a screw lid, beaker together with a small floss dispenser. I also have toothbrushes that pull apart, the head half slips into the bottom half and clicks in - stays in my handbag to cope with seeds and things that sometimes hide in small crevices when I'm eating out - quick trip to the bathroom and dealt with in private. .Toiletries - I have sets of small travel bottles and pots (shallow and a bit deeper), decant toiletries into them. I have a huge roll of paper linen mix towels, they are much biggrr than kitchen paper towels (and they can be laundered). I cut off a third for a wash cloth, the two thirds becomes the towel, and they can be binned - no having to pack wet face cloths. My other substitute face cloths are cheap packs of small dishcloths which, again, can be binned. medicines - the blister packs, enough for the time I'm away plus a little extra for emergency delays, into a ziploc baggie. Anything in bottles has to stay in bottles. I also use ziploc baggies, in various sizes, for sticking plasters, antiseptic cream etc., and to make up my own sewing kit to cater for the basic clothing colours I'm taking, push needles into a small piece of sponge, or find a small container for them , wind threads round some cardboard (or a straw), cut 2 slits in the end to hold the free end of the thread, and always include a small selection of safety pins, plus eedle threader and small good scissors. . The very small ones can sometimes deal with an emergency as soon as it happens, and not be too visible, so keep safety pins in your handvag. Pencil cases and baggies are very pliable, can tuck into odd gaps in the suitcase . The one thing I always take in a solid click lid container is any tech cables and plugs, to ensure they never get damaged, together with a small torch. And one essential is a bank card size magnifying sheet in its own flat clear popper wallet - I don't always have my bi-focal glasses with me if I'm not going to be driving. . I do have good travel bags with trolley sleeves but they are sturdy - I shall look for those that fold up - I often take a bag of additional items, gifts, when I'm going to family, so putting it in the case for the return journey would be helpful. Great video, lots of suggestions (may not be available here in UK but will look for similar), my priority is to take as little weight as possible - in my 80th year I'm not the girl I used to be, some days are good, some are not so good, so always take a folding walking stick. I no longer travel abroad, just car or public transport in UK, and mostly to family or friends., but you never know when travel delays could happen, might have to stay over night in a . Hasn't life changed - many years ago it was just different size suitcases for any travel, now I have sturdy 2- or 4-wheeled cases that can take a lot of handling when being stowed in plane or coach luggage holds, I have less sturdy fir going in the car boot, and smaller lighter for using public transport. I also have 2 wheeled backpacks, twin stem retractable handle (useful for the odd overnight hospital stay!) Great video, thank you. UK. E ❤. . .

      Thank you for sharing all your tips, tricks and DIY hacks for traveling! Sturdy luggage with 4 wheels is such a life saver, really anything with wheels for traveling is the best and just makes everything easier. Trying to minimize what you bring and having to lug around the least amount of stuff as possible is always better. I just got back from Italy and found that I could have definitely left some things at home and reduced what I brought. So, I will be doing an unpacking video reviewing that as well.

    • @EileenSpeakman
      @EileenSpeakman 25 днів тому

      @@ThickGirlzGuidethank you for your response, I'm looking forward to your unpacking video. I used to have holidays abroad, would always buy toiletries, laundry liquid, etc when I arrived,, and leave what wasn't used for the hotel maids to take if they wanted them. Not sure we should do that now, health and safety might say that's a no-no? At a push Fairy (UK) washing up liquid will wash your clothes and shampoo your hair. And you won't need much. UK. E♥️

    Always stay under the weight with luggage, even if the scale is accurate. Once I was traveling home from vacation, and made a stop over for a day to visit family. When I left my destination, my luggage was under weight by a pound or two. At my stop over, I took a few things out (I added nothing back in). Got back to the airport and they told me my luggage was overweight. Idk if they were lying or their scales vary, but I was so upset. Stay underweight as much as possible.

    I'd rather have a small refillable bottle of face wash, mouth wash, a small refillable container with toothpaste, and my quip travel toothbrush instead of the Wisp. Why? There is too much disposable plastic in the world, and it does not have toothpaste. The little blue dot is more kind to sugar-free gum (Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Flavor, Gelatin, Sorbitol, Sucralose, FD&C Blue No. 1) Sorbitol helps reduce dry mouth, to help not promote plaque. Its negatives are that even in small amounts, it can cause gastrointestinal issues like gas, bloating, and abdominal cramps.
