Boil water. Line a bowl with tinfoil Shiney side up. Place your silver in the bowl on the foil. Add baking soda on top of it. Pour boiling water on it. Let it sit for two or three minutes. Tarnish will disappear.
what is the science behind the tin foil?
@@gavynbrauer3991 I think the chemical reaction transfers the tarnish to the tinfoil. Not 100% sure why it works but it does. Give it a try sometime. It's kind of fun.
That’s how I’ve cleaned my silver too and it works perfectly all the time and cheap too!
Looked into it a bit and apparently a chemical reaction occurs that displaces some of the silver to the aluminium. If you weigh your jewelery before and after the silver will be lighter afterwards.
I heard this damages the jewelry. It can cause abrasion and cause pitting on the surface.
No!!!!! Do NOT use any solution or jewelry cleaner for silver or gold. Either use dawn, dish soap and hot water. Or you do the baking soda and aluminum foil method. Line a baking tray, or some kind of container with aluminum foil lay the silver or gold on top of the foil then boil water and add baking soda pour that into the tray and let it sit until cold, depending on how tarnished it is you might have to do this again. This is a chemical process that instead of taking layers off of the jewelry it instead takes the tarnish and place it on to the aluminum foil. Then you can use a polishing cloth if you want.
Right.....nobody needs to pay for some dumb ass chemicals that get dirty right away ....multiple things around the house can get the job done just fine
Stupid of me I did this solution and forgot I had put it in there, 10 hrs later I messed up my jewelry, what can I do?
Those still look tarnished though. I feel like you can just do electrochemical process on silver chains. It's quick, super cheap, and there's no good reason to spend extra money on some chemical that doesn't really remove all the tarnish.
Love my new time chain bro thanks
Dennis what's the size of that cuban in the middle
Probably a 5 mm
My nanny was told by a Pandora employee they leave it in fairy up liquid over night
Best video
What happens if you don’t rinse?
Deterioration of the metal and damage to your skin when you wear it.
Turns you into the hulk
@@blueshoes5145what should I do if I damaged the jewelry? I forgot about til 10 hrs later 🤦♂️

How much you paid for your rope chain
Bro I got a sterling silver cream that works wonders. I shop at thrift stores and I find a lot silver that’s super tarnished.
3 steps:
1: Apply the cream to the jewelry completely, let set for 30 seconds then rinse completely.
2: Drop jewelry in the solution like you have, swish it around and let set for 30 seconds-1 minute. Rinse.
3: ( Optional ) Drop in boiling water. This removes everything left behind and sanitizes the jewelry.
I also use a cloth too but this works exceptionally well for me.
Do I need to polish it too?
@mrshadow2406 I do, but it's optional. Sometimes, for me, after the boiling water, my silver is super clean and shiny, so their's no need to polish. I use a cloth afterward 9 times out of 10, though.
