Ya, sure it seems we're getting nice upgrades to see our faves appear in 4K, but they're usually the SAME faves! The disc dudes (be it major stoodios or boo-teeks) are apparently running a Top 40 game on us. That worked fine for decades in the radio station biz, but I wanna see more 4K platters being spun here, and with a whole LOT more variety.
I only collect digital from iTunes. And they provide free 4K upgrades. So in my small movie collection of approx. 450 movies, 217 of these are now 4K. Many was not purchased as such…
Another great video Ken! I need to start paying attention to the community tab haha. Your collection videos always perform very well and are very fun to watch, good way to find plenty of movie suggestions.
Nice collection update ken! And yeah target is wild with their prices on exclusives for them just being glorified slip covers now with like 2 art cards in them.
I bought the “Gremlins” 4K on an after Black Friday sale at Best Buy in December 2020 for $9.99. I’ve yet to watch it. It was cheap. So, if the transfer isn’t great, I won’t be that upset. Got that “Ten Commandments” last year at a pawn shop sealed for $6. I’ve yet to watch it. I’m waiting for Easter.
Don't overlook "Line of Fire," Lev.. It's no "Unforgiven," but it's an older, downbeat Clint as a Secret Service agent who failed JFK That Day in Dallas and Malkovicc is a serial presidential assassin, which means that his performance, as usual, is not to be missed.
I really appreciate you going through a small part of your collection. That was a long one ,that's what she said . You did say talk about something different . Excellent upload ken . Slainte dearthair ☘️
Riddle me this, Ken. How is the basic “Godfather Trilogy” collection $72.99 when the BTTF trilogy was a little over $40 when it first came out? I know they threw the original theatrical cut of Godfather III on the special features blu-ray, but they’re not even including the regular blu-rays in there like they did in that BTTF 4K set. Paramount has been over-pricing their 4K box sets upon first release. The Indy and Star Trek first four O.G. cast set were both a little too pricey upon release. I’ll eventually pick up that Godfather set, but on principle I’m waiting on a price drop to the $50 range. I still have the Paramount Sapphire Series blu-rays of the first two films and they’re still sealed. I can wait on a price drop, and I’m keeping the blu-rays.
Then again I did spend 50 bucks on a laserdisc of pulp fiction in 1995. Counting for 25 years of inflation that's probably 100 today. It's astonishing what we have access to nowadays. ( And I did keep the laserdisc!)
Great video and bravo taking the time to do it. My 4K titles are STILL in stacks on my floor after making mine. These type of videos take commitment for sure. And it’s great seeing all those slips. A pretty decent selection of mine don’t have the slips 😢
great collection, have you thought of doing review of box sets, like mad max for example, which is the best of a collection or if they are equal, any box set you have would be great to know how you rate them .
The Apocalypse Now box set I have heard has compression issues with the Blu-rays in it from another Blu-ray reviewer. I just want the 4Ks and the documentary. It's about $15 bucks right now as of June 9.
Great picks have everything but "Incredibles 2" and "In the Line of Fire" which I will probably get soon because certain Sony catalog releases just seem to never go down in price and you just miss out on the slipcovers by waiting.
I have lately gotten into picking up blu-ray 3D movies of movies that look great in 3D. I picked up “Avatar” and “Gravity”. I’ve had “John Carter” in 3D for quite some time and also that “Alita” 4K/3D combo pack. I had “Pacific Rim” in 3D, but gave it to a friend with a 3D TV when I upgraded it to 4K. It’s partly because I plan on watching most on his TV until I can pick one up. I need to find “Mad Max: Fury Road” in 3D and “Ready Player One” in 3D.
was thinking about getting the Spiderman no way home 4k, cause that slip was sooo nice, but instead went with the cool as heck blu 4 movie Best Buy steelbook with 3 soidey movies and the 1st venom
I have some of those movies on 4k to Ken incredible video Terminator 2 deserves a proper 4k release Ken it really does I don't watch the 4k version because it's just the theatrical version I always enjoy watching the special extended version on bluay
I break out in hives whenever I spend more than 19.99 for a 4K.......thank you for giving the final tally. I measure the extent of my obsession against other collectors....BTW I used to think the size of my collection stood no chance against collectors who've gone as far as to set up a youtube channel.....that was until I realized I trailed you by only 40 4K titles or so. Ooops....I no longer believe I'm just a "simple" collector now...I need to either seek help or start my own channel.
Very nice 4k collection, to be honest with you I wish in Canada we had them 29.99 brand new 4k prices but unfortunately we don't for new titles the start is 34.99 also depending on the edition of the movie, I occasionally by new but I do always go to my local game store that have blu rays and 4ks some used and some new but at cheap prices, the ET 4k edition you shown in the video was actually my first 4k which I did obtain from my local game store for 20 bucks brand new might I add, also I do know the guy who owns the store so that helps me alot because majority of the time he will give me movies with 2 to 5 bucks off which is awesome, plus I bring in my f4inds so he does get fresh new customers so I guess win win.
A great collection - although it left me with mixed feelings. While I know there is more to come in the videos about the steelbooks and the boutique labels, I can't help but think of all the titles that are overdue for a 4K upgrade. We've come a long way and that somehow adds to the demand for more. 👍

I’m thinking of switching to 4k. What kind of 4k player do you use? And does the player work on all regular DVDs and Blu-ray DVDs?
Can you do a full A24 collection video?
Also have you seen X yet from A24?
I bought the 4k predator box set
I just started collecting 4k’s and i’m trying to build a big 4k collection, hopefully my collection will get’s as big as yours
I collect all as well Ken. 4k, blu ray and dvd too.
