Thanks for the mention Dan!
Hi
@Trenton Alvin shhh
“This one has Toni Collette, robbed of an Oscar, many years before she would be robbed of an Oscar”
😂😂😂😂😂 I love it.
Dan throwing Mara under the bus whenever a bad movie comes up 😂
That gods of Egypt bit was great though
Cringe
That run time.... let’s go
Right! It's like, lay it on us Murrell!
🍿🍿
Just have to watch on 1.75x speed.
Him mentioning Chris Stuckmann and Flick Pick was the crossover event we all needed
Stuckmann and him did an episode on a SJ+ show and they're amazingly similar it was awesome lol
YES
I would actually love a weekly Murrell and Stuckman podcast about movies.
Dan and Chris both fought 3 times in movie fights, 2 times in comic con, both won by Chris, 1 time at studio their last fight, which dan won. Dan is salty at losing, Chris is way beyond salty. Both are very similar in attire, their glasses, movie knowledge, even height and I belive around same age too. But I like dan more.
Chris Stuckmann and TheFlickPick are the best bromance on the UA-cam film scene!
I really like hearing about Dan’s movies that he owns, and the cat cameos make this video even better.
I hadn't watched ScreenJunkies for years but the other week I was thinking about how much I missed Movie Fights, and decided to look for some of the old ones to watch and found your new channel.
You were always my favourite on MovieFights and I wish you well with the solo channel.
Love this video btw, I'm at around 300 in my collection right now and enjoy seeing the crossovers between my collection and those of my favourite reviewers.
Btw, 100% agree on Blindspotting. My favourite film from that year, should have got Best Picture, Actor and Supporting Actor noms for Diggs & Casal.
I go back and rewatch old Movie Fights episodes like I would a favorite TV show haha! I've seen a good handful of the same episodes countless times now.
2 HOURS???? DAN IM SO GLAD YOU ARE OUT ON YOUR OWN. i was so bummed about you leaving screen junkies but this was 100% the right decision.
update, took me a couple days but this was so worth it. so fun, this is the shit movie lovers cant get enough of.
I started this video and was like, "There's no way I'll finish this." Ended up watching it in two 1-hour chunks with a shower and lunch in between. I just like listening to you talk.
Both amazing directors, two which I’m watching more of this year. Ace in the hole is my favourite billy wilder so far, definitely check that out
Dan: "We saw it on Valentine's Day-"
Mara: "On when?"
Dan: "On February 14th."
There's a story there, and I would like to hear it.
Chris Stuckmann be like, “Finally! A worthy opponent!”
A worthy opponent in what?
Yms made a 11 hr long stream about blu ray collection sooo
Stuckmann: *cracks knuckles* haven't had a real fight in a while. Time to use my FULL POWER!
Sam Hudspeth what about the flick pick?
With all of the Gerard Butler love I thought I would share my Gerard Butler story. I worked at an adventure/ theme park in southern California for about a year and one of the main attractions that I operated was a zip line. One morning when I was working the sending tower and a man that thought looked familiar with a Scottish accent went on the attraction with his family. Turns out it was Butler, but that's not the end of my Gerard Butler story. The zip line is right next to one of the mountain biking trails and I saw him riding his bike up and he asked me what trails I would recommend for him. I told him the ones I thought would be good for beginners and which ones were fun for beginners. He thanked me and went on his way, but that's not the end of my Gerard Butler story. About 10 minutes later I see him coming down and yells, "look out the woman behind me is out of control." Seconds later this lady crashes her bike right near the base of the zipline tower. She crashed her bike on the trail higher up and said that when she went to ride again her brakes had disappeared. So Gerard Butler is looking at her bike trying to figure out what is wrong with it when his significant other says, "Gerard honey, are her handlebars backwards?" Turns out that the lady had rode down the remainder of the trail with her handlebars backwards and no brakes. And that is my fun Gerard Butler story.
Dan: *mentions a movie i haven't seen*
Me: *clicks add to watchlist on imdb*
Fun fact: If not for dan, i wouldn't have seen any sidney lumet or billy wilder films. He introduced me to 12 angry men, the apartment, and dog day afternoon, 3 of my all time favorite movies. Thank you dan for all the recs!
70%: "This is a great movie and everyone should watch it."
30%: "This is a terrible movie and I love it."
My Movie Collection: The Movie
That’s weird dan I don’t see cats in your collection, you must have skipped it
It's at 23:46
It's in mine it's a terrible film but I love it.
Sander Claassen well played well played
This is the video I didn't know I needed! Thank you Dan.
This video is longer than some movies lmao
With the low amount of new releases this year, I think this video should be nominated for Best Picture in 2021
Why watch one movie when you can watch a guy talk about 600?
Cactus Jones 2.0 yes
Could've watched Dumbo twice
"Harry...Voldemort...Harry...Voldemort" Yeah when I was in Woolworths I couldn't resist fiddling with the hologram covers ( see also "try me" buttons on toys.) A very broad collection, also loved the insight into how the collection grew, where it came from etc.
LMAO the Jurassic World explanation 😂
Dan is the man. I like how he gives Stuckmann a shout-out.
I live for UA-cam videos that are this long... THANK YOU
Amazing Harrison Ford impression
Dope is a dope movie. Just pure fun experience for me.
Not set in 90's, btw.
Surprisingly, I watched the WHOLE thing. Thank you, both, for spending the time to do this.
Dan should set up a public Amazon wish list so we can fill in the gaps for him.
What a trip down memory lane. So many great movies - some I want to see again, some I've been meaning to see, some I totally forgot about. What with the sheltering and all, this is a perfect time for you to reveal your collection. This should keep me entertained for quite a while. Thank you, Dan & Mara!
Casablanca is my favourite film of all time, so saying I'm happy there are videos coming up about it is quite the understatement. Literally the only YT channel I have notifications on for. Keep up the great work, Dan!
Coming soon to a nightmare near you, Dan Murrell: Gemma Arterton in Anna Karenina. Your review is due in 30 minutes.
Also, agree re Hugh Jackman in Les Miz. Along with Logan, it's best acting performance; both are Oscar-worthy.
And great to find someone else who recognises MI:III to be the best of the MIs.
However I know I'm one of the few who who thinks Shakespeare in Love was the more deserving Best Picture winner that year. There are dozens of us, dozens! (It was Cate Blanchett who was robbed that year.)
Twister is so, so dumb. But the floating cow totally redeems it.
Will check out a number of movies in this collection, thanks!
The flying cow is why I've now watched Twister 25 times.
"Why are you even watching" you say. Well joke's on you Dan, I loved every second of it. Actually, I think I might be ready for the extended version of this with a 1-2 min analysis for all 600+ movies.
(I need to find a copy of Gods of Egypt asap)
This is the type of content I needed for this rainy Saturday! Much love from Italy Dan
Watched it all!! It was fun and amazing to see the difference between our collections... and I’ve added so many movies to my list i haven’t seen yet!!! Thanks Dan and Mara!!
Watched the whole thing! It was like a trip down memory lane.
Just watched Blindspotting this week, and man....so powerful. Lots of imagery I can't get out of my head. Definitely agree with your recommendation!
Great video, Dan! I love hearing your quick comments in so many films
WHAT A GREAT VIDEO! This was fantastic. Super super fun to see what you had and your thoughts. Yes to being a completionist.
"Why are you even watching this?"
Cat cameos and watching you descend into madness, that's why.
This has to be some record for the most film reviews in one video 🤣🤣 Way to go Dan!
It's so great seeing you out on your own! Love what you're doing!
Thanks for sharing your collection, Dan!
Yes. I need more to watch while I'm doing laundry.
Omg finally Dan Murrel asmr
This is one of my favourite videos in a long long time. Great stuff from both Dan and Mara. Relationship goals.
What a great run down. Loved it!
When I didn’t see the second Jurassic Park, I thought “huh that’s a strange one to leave out” and then it showed up in the ‘L’s and I died a little inside
Yeah I'm surprised he didn't cheat a little there. Technically the title is The Lost World: Jurassic Park, so he's right, but yeah, my brand of OCD would have to group them together
Ian Rothe yeah I’m the wrong person to ask about organizing movies. I sort mine by genre and it drives everyone I know crazy. I personally hate alphabetical order for movies, but whatever is easiest for the person who owns the movies is best
@@withlovesavyjovannapavlak5968 I kinda sort mine by how much I like them, but that's not even very consistent.
I had a hard time dealing with Batman Begins not sitting with The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. I do alphabetical, for the most part, but those go in "D" with all the DC films in chronological order, and the Marvel films go under "M" in the same fashion. I only own Jurassic Park and Jurassic World from that series, though, but if I had The Lost World: Jurassic Park, it would go between those two. I even put things like Army of Darkness under "E" after the first two Evil Dead movies.
Great collection, like my comics, there are allways a stinker, but it's part of collecting. When you do your Ghibli run, do not forget The Grave of the Fireflies, that is not on HBOMax or Netflix outside US. Fun video.
I do hope you mean that Dan's video is fun, rather than Grave of the Fireflies (it is a fantastic movie, but not one that I would call "fun").
This is the video I new I needed! Thank you Dan! :D amazing collection
I watched this entire episode and was thoroughly entertained. I enjoyed comparing my collection with Dan’s. Nice to know I own certain movies that he doesn’t, but I was also introduced to some movies I’ve never seen. Great job!
I thought Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, was all sorts of goofy fun. Cool movie.
In the past few months I’ve gotten really into Blu-Ray collecting. This video has come at the right time.
Thanks for doing this Dan! It was really cool to see your movie collection. I've actually wondered about it for years. Now I know :)
Perfect video for a Saturday! Love your vids Dan.
5 minutes in. No 2012? Collection disqualified!
The Dark Knight also the 1st Blu-Ray I ever owned too. Fun coincidence.
All that Gerard Butler, but neither of the first 2 How to Train Your Dragons?
Same. I was buying DVDs for a good year, thinking that a disc won't change the quality if it's on the same TV. wow, I was so wrong. Also 2012 is my collection too.
Why are we watching this? Because you took the time and made it interesting and amusing.
Need to watch Gods of Egypt again I guess XD
Thanks Dan! I watched the whole thing, and really enjoyed.
That was absolutely charming, guys! A perfect background for todays cooking session!
I find your lack of Hong Kong action films disturbing. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is all good but what about Hero, Drunken Master 2, Hard Boiled, Ip Man, The Killer, Fist of Legend, Police Story, etc...?
The Killer. Police Story. Hard Boiled. Infernal Affairs trilogy. Thats my definitive post Bruce Lee Hong Kong cinema compilation.
Drunken Master 2? Really?
@@ThreadBomb Are you seriously questioning a movie that has been hailed as one of the greatest martial arts films of all time?
@@ThreadBomb Roger Ebert: "Jackie Chan's 'The Legend of Drunken Master' is quite simply amazing. It involves some of the most intricate, difficult and joyfully executed action sequences I have ever seen. If you have any interest in seeing a Jackie Chan martial arts film, then this is the one to see. Filmed in 1994 but not given a wide North American release until now, it is considered by those who have seen most of Chan's 70-plus films to be one of his two or three best."
Mara, why did you correct Dan's usage of "Valentines Day"?
Just curious. Not getting snarky.
Yea i feel like there has to be a story to this haha
They don't 'do' valentines day, but they must have went to watch a movie that day, not just cuz of the significance given to the day, but just cuz that's just the day they went.
Dan mentioned awhile back on SJ that they don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day and always eat at McDonald’s in protest
@@jasongeorgis3483 Yes, but WHY.
@@TimenSpaceGaming Thank you, Mara.
These collection videos of yours are great reminders of movies I had possibly forgotten about, movies I should watch, would want to see or possibly just rewatch - or just throw in the trash 😅 Love it!
Watched the whole thing! Thanks for sharing!
23:42 Begins talking about The Dark Knight and a black cat walks across the table. Coincidence? 😂
"We have a soft spot for Gerard Butler in this household"
"We actually both love the musical The Phantom of the Opera"
*You don't own The Phantom of the Opera movie with Gerard Butler?*
truly awesome Dan, watched it all the way through
Thank you Bro. We need more of this.
They’re organized A-Z? Interesting. Do you have them like that on the shelf? Because 12 Angry Men next to 21 Jump Street is...interesting.
He does movies starting with numbers first, then A-Z
I'm 34 minutes in and I have to say: I also defend GLASS, I LOVE that film 🔥🔥🔥
Minute 35:26 GOLD!!!
Also, 59:16 that's my favorite sequel ♥️
I am glad that there are a few of us Glass defenders out there. I think it is brilliant.
@@apprenticechief It really is!
This was so much fun! Great collection!
I watched the whole thing and enjoyed it a lot :) It's great to hear you talk about movies in every way possible.
Did he say "Dope" was set in the 90s?!? They use Bitcoin in that movie! Silly Danny
Why would you genetically modify a dinosaur to have camouflage and then place said dinosaur in a zoo for people to see?
J M that’s still bad writing.
J M to be fair they were in cars.
@J M, um...bad writing? The point of the Dilophosaurus being venomous with fences was to show how careless the Park was when it came to dangerous dinosaurs. Also, they had NO idea it would be poisonous- which is explained. That “bad writing” is a plot point done on purpose.
The Flick Chick thank you.
I watched the whole video because I can never get enough Dan commentary! Love the Mara and cat cameos. Thanks Dan!
I don’t know why I watched it either...but once I started I couldn’t stop. I’ve always like hearing you talk about movies Dan. Keep it up please, you doing great on your own channel now.
It really bothers me that Lost World is in the L section! I know it's technically correct, but it really should be in between Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 3!
how does this make sense...?
2 whole hours of talking non-stop...????
You the Dan!
Oh my gosh, Dan, this is SUCH an awesome collection!!! I can’t wait to hear you talk about “Casablanca”!
And you have GOT to see “RED 2”! Anthony Hopkins is super funny in it!
I watched the whole thing. I did not expect this video or even think about it possibly existing but I'm delighted it does
I don't know how to feel about you owning a 4k 2016 ghostbusters movie
Civil War feels more Avenger-y than Captain-y at times it's almost weird to see it apart from the Avengers movies
Had to watch in 3 parts but so worth it. Thanks for sharing Dan!
This is such a cool kind of video to watch! I'm marking all classics I've missed here!
These vids are a really great thing to go through and add more movies to my watch list.
THIS REMINDED ME OF A LOT THAT I HAVEN'T WATCHED IN A GOOD WHILE THAT I WOULD LIKE TO REVISIT SO THANK YOU!
Wow Dan! Thank you for this!
This is the BEST VIDEO EVER I LOVE YOU DAN! And the patience it must have taken to go through all of them one by one. My personal collection is at 960 at the moment but I definitely don’t have as many bluray or classics as you!
The reason I watched all the way... I've written down some good ones / unknown ones I've not seen and will seek them out. Thanks for doing this Dan!
Thank you Dan for sharing your appreciation for Gerald Butler. I’ve felt alone for a long time.
I love all the videos on this channel! And I also loved this video! It’s always so cool to see people’s collections. I myself currently have over 600 films on BD & over 860 films on DVD and on the whole I have 1330+ different titles if you don’t count doubles.
Watching this there were a lot of films that I also have in my collection (maybe about half or two thirds of the films shown here). There was like couple that I don’t have that aren’t apparently available on DVD/BD here. There were also some that I’m now interested in watching and maybe even acquiring for my own collection. Thanks to Dan for introducing them in the video.
I am catching up with your shows and I must say - for me, what sets you apart from the rest of pack doing similar concept programs is .. you ! You are a Star buddy ! I wish you great success in the creative river of life!
nice collection, very few anime
actually didn't watch the vid, just listened to you naming the movies, reminded me of some I forgot I had to include in the queue
I had to break the video up into about eight mini-chunks, but I finally finished it! Thanks for doing this, Dan!
Added so many movies to my watch list now. Thanks Dan
I peaked at 900 dvds and video tapes. Got divorced. Gave up about half including tapes. Now I've bounced back and have 700 dvd and bluray, plus 600 digital. I only have maybe 100 of those physically too. So I am up there on the library.
Watched the whole thing! Thanks for sharing your collection! ❤ I have some more discs to buy, cuz of you!
Awesome Dan! Really cool, to know what I need to add to my watchlist ahah
I listened to this while painting a fence. It made the time go by fast! Thanks Dan
I watched the whole thing, and it was two hours better spent than a lot of films I've seen. Thanks, Dan.
Great Collection my man
Loved the video Dan! I did a collection video a few months ago but I'm at about half of what you got. I actually wrote down a list of the films you have that I still want to get. Keep up the great content man.
Really enjoyed the video, Dan! Personally, I love watching these videos because it's always cool to see someone else's collection and the videos are also kinda therapeutic haha
Some of these are definitely going to my Amazon Wishlist.
Also I loved the cat cameos.
