11:10 the term “running the rabbit” is a term used by the military and the way it works is you have an operator run across a short doorway or hallway where an enemy is believed to be holding, as the operator runs across a fellow operator is suppose to back him up and shoot whatever hostile may be aiming for the “rabbit”, it’s a very risky but effective strategy, pretty sure it’s most popular with the US army.

So in gamer terms (CSGO), it's basically the job for the entry fragger, who often spearheads the entry to a site. Entry fraggers would often die first to bait the opponent to reveal their position, so their teammates must back them up in case they are down. This is called trading to prevent the opponent from having the man advantage.

It's interesting to see how the different ROEs lead to different mindsets between the two. The SWAT guy is like "yeah we wouldn't shoot him, we'd have to arrest him" meanwhile in the military it's shoot on sight in a lot of these situations. On the other hand, the SWAT also wants to use chemical weapons that militaries are not allowed to use as it's a war crime to use even tear gas, so the ranger doesn't even remotely think of it as a possibility.

The SWAT commander has never heard of running the rabbit before because it is an infantry tactic. Not a SWAT tactic. As a side note: Doorkickers 2 is set in a military setting, unlike Door Kickers 1 which was in a SWAT setting.
Running the rabbit involves the first man rapidly dashing across a doorway that might have someone with a gun trained on it too quickly for the shooter to react and shoot the first man. A split second after the first man dashes, the second man peeks the corner. The shooter in the room will instinctively track the first man, bringing his weapon out of position to react to the second man peeking him, providing the second man with the opportunity to shoot him without being shot. The person in the video that the SWAT commander reacting to is a military veteran using infantry CQB tactics.
So him calling "running the rabbit" not recommended is a bit cringe. If it's a tactic that was good enough for people clearing rooms in Fallujah, then it's good enough to use in a video game where the objective is to kill all enemy combatants in the building.
I suspect SWAT does not use this tactic because their job is to arrest people, so they can't just have a second guy peek the room and shoot the occupants immediately after the first guy baits their attention away from the spot the 2nd guy is peaking from. But that doesn't mean it's a bad tactic, like the SWAT commander is strongly implying with his words and tone. It just means that SWAT rules of engagement don't allow for it, so they don't use it and never learned it, which is why the commander is ignorant of it.
As for the SWAT commander's comments about never not being compromised... again, if you're infantry in a warzone, there is definitely a distinction between when you've been detected by the enemy, and when you haven't. You act differently in each of those circumstances. Infantry CQB tactics account for this, while SWAT probably does not, because they are unlikely to approach a target under stealth.

Especially if their operations are in concert with military forces or objectives (which they are, since the ranger squad can be used in every mission the CIA can be used).

7:38 looking at that room i think by diminishing the corners, you can already see nobody can hide in the 'blind' corners of the room left and right of the door, since those walls are barely as wide as a door each. this wouldnt work as well with longer walls or a square room, but in this scenario i think the operators could just focus on and hold the closet door from outside the room where they still have cover, and throw a banger towards the door of the closet room.. and if out of bangers, tell the suspect he cant go nowhere and talk him out of there. either way plenty of time to get new bangers or gas or whatever. or they could just go full spetsnaz and send everything towards the closet room assuming theres no hostages there. I'm genuinely surprised with how these games don't properly secure the subjects. Having a team member stay behind and properly secure a subject would add an extra level of immersion due to having to utilize your remaining operators to the best of your ability. Plus it's less action for the game to try an process. If anything it would improve the gameplay.

The issue with saying you'd just throw gas in there is that these guys have different ROE than law enforcement. While they're more lax on some things (being a lot more liberal with pulling the trigger for instance) they're stricter on others, and gas in a warzone is a violation of the Geneva Conventions -- even just tear gas is illegal to use in military operations.

18 operators! Holy crap, I can’t imagine the type of flagging going on with 18 operators going into a room. In the Marine corps we would do two to a room, sometimes four (depending on the layout) That’s all you need, talk about overkill.

The one glaring issue with this is that DR2 isn't a police game unlike DR1. You're running with rangers/milita and the goal is to eliminate, not subdue. There's missions where you are literally there to blow stuff up, your guys can carry rocket launchers and the modus operandi is different. Still an interesting watch for sure though. I would love to see him actually play it.
