Thanks for taking time, however the one thing I needed to see what how to remove and replace the cylinder. You removed it and said something about a pencil but the video showed your leg. Oh well, I'll figure it out, but thank you a million for taking time to do this video.

I’m just wondering what your symptoms were. I have the same exact vehicle and I’ve been through 3 mechanics, including the dealership. My vehicle dies while driving, sometimes it won’t start and right now my battery is dead for the third time. I’ve had to replace the battery twice. There isn’t an alternator issue and sadly keep replacing the battery. I noticed the radio was blinking on and off and the abs light went temporarily on. We’ve fixed the idle control, catalytic converter. Whatever the issue is, it’s killing each battery after a few months and there isn’t a parasitic draw that can be found. Thanks for your time!

i was gonna say, check for draw...some times the voltage regulator can push too much current that will cook your battery. although i assume you looked there' when you checked altenator. my symptoms where my key wouldnt start the car, some times key wouldnt turn, have to shake it try cpl times hard to turn , etc. good luck batteries are expensive!

I have the same exact Jeep, but my problem is that when I go to turn it over my Jeep completely loses power, I run an aftermarket car stereo system and have a front battery delete, I’ve went over all the wiring, replaced the starter, checked relays, do you think that it could possibly be the ignition switch screwing me over? Like sometimes it’ll turn over and start up, but recently it was just cranking , I’ve swapped batteries, the works and I’m at a loss for what I could be

are you getting any spark when just cranking?

@@nathanmccumber8965 same problem and the problem happened after I replaced the lock cylinder because I thought that was the issue on why my key was so hard to turn come to find out it’s the ignition switch that sits down by the pedals on top of the column when those go bad you can lose all power completely, especially power to the dash Peter and turn signals every once in a while I’m able to get my jeep to turn over after losing power 10 times in the attempt. I’ve been reading points to the ignition switch itself

A '96 is not a wj (whats in the description. Wj was introduced in '99. A '96 would be a zj, different model. So makes sense why its a different torx size

@@crashman1963 dont mind him, hes referring to the older jeeps xj and cj that had a remote ignition just like the older chevrolet trucks. he's incorrect in saying it isn't the ignition switch, because it obviously is.
