An ALL TIME Album. It's one of those records you play start to finish and want to play it all over again. It has staying power. Glad you guys enjoyed it. It's worth reviewing the whole album track by track.
I love this album so much. I’ve been a Tame Impala fan since the beginning and this album matched the mood of my life perfectly when it came out and I will love it forever. Can’t go wrong with reacting to any Tame Impala
Let It Happen, Mind Mischief, Expectation, and One More Hour are the songs I recommend from each album of theirs! Tame Impala has (rightfully so) blown up throughout the years, incredible band!
Tame impala is Kevin Parker lol, the band does live performances but Kevin is Tame Impala, he does literally every instrument on the albums. It’s just physically impossible for him to play them all at live shows.
This bass line gets me in soul every time. I remember finding this album just to listen to this song over and over but ended up loving the entire thing. So many good songs!
Tame Impala is nuts. Thanks for getting to them. Kevin Parker has a pretty big history of working with Hip hop artists as a producer. And their sound has been sampled through the years
An incredibly addicting song. Went through a streak for months where I'd listen to this at least 5 times a day. Great vibe. Rest of the album is just as good and creative.
There are so many good Tame Impala songs its hard to recommend just 1 or 2. You guys should check out: Eventually, New Person Same Old Mistakes, Mind Mischief, Borderline, Is it True...the list goes on
I discovered Tame Impala after hearing Sundress by ASAP Rocky in which he sampled the song Why wont you make up your mind. Since then I went back and listened to all Tame Impala's album. Incredible music.
So happy that yall are doing this! I agree with another comment, if you get back to this band, do "Let It Happen!" Not smooth in the same way, but super cool track! "New Person, Same Old Mistakes" is another great track. I'd also love to see you guys check out Thundercat. "Them Changes" or "Dragonball Durag" would be right up your alley. If you do the latter, PLEASE do the video with it, it's hilarious
PLEASE DO MORE!!! Let it Happen is my favorite, but New Person, Same ol Mistakes is also incredible. But The Moment is probably the next most “poppy” song. Most of his music is really meant for long grooves.
The insane thing is that it is actually just one guy, writing, producing and singing everything while playing every instrument by himself aswell. Just on live performances he is assisted by his friends
The hip hop community loves tame impala. Rihanna, asap, Kanye, Travis Scott have all worked with him. “New Person Same Old Mistakes” is the best tame impala song!
Let It Happen, Yes I'm Changing, New Person Same Old Mistakes, and Eventually would be awesome songs to react to from this album as well, loved the reaction!
Tame Impala is one of the greatest artists of the 2010s, period. Currents is an amazing album start to finish, all of his albums are the kind you need to listen to from beginning to end. his first 2 are basically straight up psychedelic rock, his last 2 incorporate more synthwave/electro-pop but still have that psych backbone and feel. I’m really happy you guys finally did a Tame Impala reaction, if you dug this track you will for sure enjoy the rest of the catalogue!
Earlier Tame Impala was heavier on the psychedelic side. More recently you find tracks with the R&B vibe, like this and Borderline (which you’ll also like).
Tbh, it's a perfect 10/10 song. Kevin took a universally relatable emotion and set it to an impossibly catchy groove/vibe that's also musically interesting enough to warrant infinite listens. This is how you write a perfect pop song. 😎
Man I love you dudes so great to see a channel like this. I love discovering new music and sometimes I get to go on the journey with you guys and that's DOPE! This song was SMOOTH as butter 🧈
Yall should check out King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard another aussie pshyce band. Almost all their albums explore differnt genres whether its jazz, folk or thrash metal. Definitly my favourite band of recent times!
So happy you guys finally got around to Tame Impala!! Currents is one of my favourite albums of all time. Would LOVE to see your reaction to “Eventually” off the same album
Love Tame Impala. This album is funky as hell and really delves more into a poppier sound than the previous albums. If you want to hear the more psychedelic/ indie rock side check out songs from their first two albums. Feels Like We Only Go Backwards and Solitude is Bliss are bangers for sure. On those first couple albums Kevin Parker sounds like if John Lennon leaned even further into psychedelia.
Tame Impala is amazing and Currents is a top tier album! I'd love to see you guys check out the song "New Person, Same Old Mistakes" it's another groovy song.
I feel like "New Person, Same Old Mistakes" from the same album as this is a song you guys would really like. The drums are so fat on that one, it's amazing
THE song that got me into Tame Impala and I mean I was really into Tame Impala for a few years. Currents was a phenomenal album. I’ve kinda moved on but I still enjoy listening occasionally, although some songs bring back very specific memories…more so than with any artist/ song I can ever recall. I’m glad you guys liked this one so much but it’s really just a small taste of what Tame Impala is.
so happy to see you guys react to tame impala!! ive been a fan since middle school and i think kevin is probably one of the best musicians working rn. i know you guys dont mind some of the more riff-heavy stuff to check out some of the stuff off his first album interstellar!!!
Happy to see you guys reacting to one of my Tame Impala who is Incredible and one of my favorite musicians and group!!! Love him!!!! Keeps me hopeful that music is getting better today!!!!
I've been waiting for this exact reaction video for years! I was one of the people recommending on Patreon, it made me so happy to see this pop up this morning. Glad you liked it, the perfect gateway to Tame Impala. I'd really be interested to see your takes on "Let It Happen", not quite as smooth and danceable as this song, but the creativity and composition of that song is amazing. Or you could react to one of the first two albums and it's almost like a completely different band, with a more straight-up 60's rock sound. I'd recommend "Solitude Is Bliss". Appreciate you guys and how much thought you put into these reactions!
The entire album Currents is an absolute masterpiece of sonic wizardry. Probably the best psyche record of this century...but a contemporary take on psyche not much like the classic rock psyche of the 60s and 70s, like their previous albums have in spades . Listening from start to finish, especially the first 8 tracks is an Experience and a Journey. Depending on where you are in life, it can be very cathartic and therapeutic too....and this track in particular has a pretty dope music video.
I like this song!! I ended hearing this song a few years ago from a tarot reader. She always adds a song to each pile and you get to pick which pile of cards your drawn to and I got this song lol. I’ve found a lot of cool music because of her lol!!
"too smooth for yall to reccommend" 🤣you're not wrong. Tame Impala are a great band and here in aus they've been a tour de force for the past decade. you'll hear their songs played at every basic white girl party. I HIGHLY recommend yall listen to Feels Like We Only Go Backwards btw, you'll love it. As an aside, I'd go as far as saying there's been a bit of a rock renaissance in Australia more generally, with unique, smooth blends of psych, garage, prog, surfer, indie and alt rock to name a few genres. Live music and open festivals is a big part of the culture. You'd be surprised, even metalcore is pretty mainstream, because rap and hip hop doesn't have the same vice grip as it does in america. So if you see recommendations for aussie bands, rest assured, it's probably fun and melodically redeemable on some level. Cheers boiz
So stoked to see Tame Impala on your channel! Their earlier stuff is favorite. 'Mind Mischief' off 'Lonerism' is one of their best songs from that era/sound (more 60's/70's psych rock/RnB)
You gotta hear Let It Happen next (THE FULL 7 MIN SONG, NOT THE RADIO EDIT). I am so interested to see your guys' reaction to it especially one part in particular
Super excited y’all are listening to Tame! Now we’re talking. I would go with “Elephant” (more rock) But for funk, “New Person, same Old Mistakes” I can EASILY see Ryan grooving to this track. Great video fellas!
Love Tame Impala. I’m glad you guys reacted to this song. Like others have said, there are many songs by him that are great. I personally love the inner speaker and lonerism albums even more than this currents album. I’d definitely recommend checking those out!
Hell yeah! Please do more tame Impala! New person, same old mistakes, music to walk home by, Eventually, Mind mischief, you could pick any song honestly
This song is sexy as hell. Hope you guys get into their more psychedelic stuff from the earlier albums like Feel like we only go backwards. Lots of amazing songs from this group and a good indicator that the whole 'modern music sucks' narrative is complete bs. The kids are alright.
You gotta give Elephant by Tame Impala a listen. First song I heard from him and still one of my favorites. Tame Impala has a deep track list with so many bangers.
Oh my God, I love this album. I think I've listened to some portion of it, if not all of it, at least once a month since it came out. It's so good. Just put on headphones, close your eyes, and listen from beginning to end. It's a whole journey and fantastically done.
I got introduced to this record recently. I do guitar improv and those final chords are such a joy to play over. There's a lot of clever songwriting in his tunes.
I never heard of Tame Impala either till recently someone on another react video pointed out 'Same o'l mistake' by Rihanna was a cover of a Tame Impala song. And i love that song so i had to hear the original! Man did they not disappoint! Great stuff. Funny how not long after, yall react to a song of thiers for the first time on this channel. Great stuff.
Love this song so much. None of their/his other stuff quite hits like this (though I'm happy to be proven wrong on that). It's already so good and then the "I was doin' fine without ya" bit comes in and brings it home. Masterpiece.
I’m so happy y’all got to this one. This song was one of the main reasons I picked up the bass. Cheers gentleman! Keep it up. Check out Let it Happen, Mind Mischief, New Person Same old Mistakes, Breathe Deeper, and many more from them!
Glad to see you guys reacting to Tame Impala and this album in particular. PLEASE do "Let it Happen" next.
This! The whole album is great but definitely this song!

That song is fascinating it's so repetitive in a way but feels fresh every time

First time I've heard of him, added the song to my playlist before it was over. Thanks guys for introducing me to new music. Love what you do.
Yall nailed it with the roller skating vibe. Now you gotta do Borderline by Tame Impala. Very similar groove to this banger
Agreed. Borderline is my favorite! Please react to the “Single Version” that is 4:35. It is much better than its 3:58 counterpart.
