@@josh05683 you have to also keep in mind that when Currents came out, the first album Parker himself mixed, Parker said it was his most unlistenable album, despite being known as the album so far with the best mixing. Can't trust the man on his opinions of his own music.
I saw Tame Impala at Red Rocks here in CO a fear years back. Mac DeMarco opened for them and I had no idea who he was at the time. Spent most of my time during his set standing in a monstrous line waiting to buy some beer. Shameful
Adam Hall look up the oh sees’ front man in live pictures and then stu Mackenzie there are some heavy influences on stage presence but other than that they are almost completely original
Their second album, Lonerisms, is inspired by late era Beatles, and their instrumentation are practically Beatles. The guitars and basses uses Rickenbackers and Hofners, which were staple Beatles rigs.
Exactly why I fell in love with Tame. Big Beatles fan growing up. First song I heard was Lucidity and remember thinking how similar Kev's voice sounded to John's. Googled Tame, saw the Rickenbacker and Hofner and was instantly hooked.
Genre is a little tricky for Tame Impala, he has adapted his sound so much. He started out as a sort of Psychadelic rock, moved into a more electronic Psychadelia with Currents and and the Slow Rush is more Pop, with a definite flavour of Psychadelia still thrown in. I love all of it
Fun video, but as a massive longtime Tame fan, these 3 songs don't even scratch the surface of the diversity of his music. Each Tame Impala record has its own sound. His first record, InnerSpeaker, is a lot of fuzzy, psychedelic guitar, almost chaotic at parts (more pure psychedelic rock). His second record, Lonerism, still has the fuzzed, psych rock elements, but also incorporates a lot of interesting synth sounds and sequences. His third record, Currents, is heavily synth led and much more akin to like 80s pop/rock. If you listen to them chronologically, you can really see how his style had evolved over the years. I personally prefer InnerSpeaker and Lonerism over Currents, but there's no doubt that Kevin is exploring some uncharted territory. Can't wait for Record #4!
@@Verzey Here's my top 5 favorite tracks if you're interested: 1. Mind Mischief 2. It Is Not Meant To Be 3. Endors Toi 4. Apocalypse Dreams 5. Expectation Also check out Half Full Glass of Wine on his very first self-titled EP
Some bands worth checking out: Kasabian Superorganism Gang of Youths Foster the People The Heavy (criminally underrated) Sigur Ros (artsy but sooo fucking underrated) Great reaction as always my dude
Glitchy frank isn’t trash because of his fan base. his fan base is trash as simple as that. so don’t be one of those people who worry about fanbases, not everyone is involved with fan bases nor do they care about them when it comes to listening to music.
I think we all can agree that another Tame Impala Reaction would be great :D maybe even a full album, I'd recommend Lonerism if you're more into Beatles-ish stuff or Currents if you thought Let it Happen and The Less I know the Better were more interesting :)
You should to the Weeknd but from his older albums!! 🙏🙏 1)The Town (I think youll like how it changes up) 2)House of balloons/glass table girls 3)The Knowing
Your face when the less I know the better came on was my exact reaction 😂 I've got to ask, have you continued to listen to this album after this video?
That style of fades you're talking about was done by pink floyd on Dark Side of the Moon. Their transitions were ground breaking, but hardly any bands are able to pull it off. The last I heard able to do it was Flaming lips in their Yoshimi era.
I'm so jealous, I wish I could relive the first time I heard Tame Impala again. I've been hooked ever since 2015.
Notorious Sly it’s been 2007 for me.
Ah I got into his music in 2018. Kinda wish I started later
Same here
Same
I started listening to Kevin's music in 2011. I thank Kanye west for getting me into tame Impala
You should listen to New Person, Same Old Mistakes by Tame Impala!!
Dont worry, he's probably listening to tame impala everyday now
And 'cause I'm a man and vital signs (I know it's a cover, but it is soooooo good!!)
MY FAVORITE
And the moment
That was the first tame impala song I listened to
"I got Beatles vibe" - Anyone on Tame Impala before Currents.
feels like we only going backwards is what did it for me
It is not meant to be has such a Beatles vibe like the bass is so Paul McCartney
Instrumental wise, yeah, but I hear people say he models his voice after John Lennon's and I don't see it AT ALL. To me, his voice is distinct
Fuck yea
80s And Stuff dude listen to desire be desire go, he sounds EXACTLY like John Lennon
"is this seven minutes of pure trip?"
YEH MA DUDE
