Interesting. Arslan and Aris have the same philosophy about the B and below tier. Aris said it himself in response to Knee's tier list; there's really no point in discerning any tiers below B, because the differences between characters in the B and C tier are negligible if the pilot is good. They're all still technically viable with good, intelligent play.

Yeah, I'm from brazil and i've only realized there was a pakistani tekken scene because of tmm, i found arslan ash when he played at a dubai invitational tournament and defeated many koreans easily, if im not mistaken

I think what Arslan saying is if we organize a tournament with only tier B characters... It's gonna be absolute bloodbath. Anyone can beat anyone it's up to the players potential how much he understand his character to the limit and the matchups as well.
That would be a blast watching. Maybe i'll finally get to see my mains utilized by pros
Arslan Ash, love from India. Your skill, passion and commitment towards the game is inspiring for every budding gamer out there who face challenges due to the poor mentality of the society towards competitive gaming and lack of support (tech and financial) from own country (both Ind/Pak).
I agree with the general B list. Every character has something going for them and it's how you use the character. We all know gigas is bad, but in the right players hand, he can seem like A tier. All characters have basic tool and gimmicks to work to their advantage.

People forget about this a lot.
Any time a character wins a major tournament, the player is forgotten and people almost immediately slap the winning character in the top tiers.
You dont know about the tiers my guy, Ppl dont put the character on top bcuz of the win rate, its because of the moves the char has. Thats why panda isnt S
@@UmDevoto i wasn't talking about Panda. I was speaking in general. Panda is an outlier here, of course no one was asking for Panda nerfs. MOST times whenever a character wins a major, that character is immediately in the nerf crosshair and everyone forgets that maybe the player is just good.

19:11 TMM is saying compared to other Tekken, offense is favored in Tekken 7 because movement is reduced in Tekken 7. Top players defense still works, but they are handicapped relatively speaking. Also, imo, cheap moves with easy execution makes offense even more favored, when movement is reduced in addition. TMM is saying that the reduced movement has weakened defensive players in a sense, not that defense isn't important in Tekken 7.
Bruuuhhhhh say that shit again. I’m extremely defensive which is why I’m about to drop tf out of xiaoyu cause it’s hard playing her that way which I love. But movement is very important and I feel she has the weakest approach Game ever and poor range. I’m not gonna quit her but I’m using zafina hardcore to make up for the movement reduction. I feel there needs to be a sidestep increase too or backdash buff to ease the aggression. Spot on description bro
@@wisdomseeker0142 Xiaoyu would be really hard to play defensive true. Because she is a lot about overwhelming your opponent with setups and unique timings. Her punishment isn't top notch so being uber defensive may not be an option for her. Its sad that you can't play your fav character that way.
He was talking about defense vs offense when talking about Lars, right? I guess the main thing he means is that because pros are so seldom on large punishable minus frames, Lars very rarely gets to take advantage of his good block punishment. I understood his defense vs offense comment to mean that you can never turtle and expect to get damage off block punishment. Trying to use other defensive tools like sidestepping and space control is obviously still hugely important on all levels.
I understood the list as soon as I saw it on KingJae's channel, it makes perfect sense tbh there are Characters that are flat out OP / Much Stronger because of their Kits and then there are characters that are balanced but ofc they still have things in their kits that make them playable.
It's funny because on the Tekken Reddit ppl always say "Oh Everything is playable" and then when Tier lists come out they shit themselves when something isn't in some fantasy C tier or D tier; except if they truly believed everything is playable they would know that there is no C or D tier since (As Arslan said) your time played and mastery means quite a bit.
People can't say "everything is playable" but then shit themselves when Arslan has everyone in a B tier which if you look at B tier you see it pretty clearly as a "Playable / Good but not OP" Everything above B tier is basically a varying degree of OPness in their Kits, so the higher you go the more Imbalanced the Characters can be.
Simple and perfectly reasonable and honestly the most truthful tier list out there. Ppl are just so use to wanting to have a Top 5 and Bottom 5 except the lines between bottom are much less defining than the lines at the top
This was a great read. I whole heartedly agree. Its just nice for people to have a bit more definition I guess. I appreciate both what Arslan did and what TMM refined it as. Also I feel characters in A are not OP. But yes, some of them do have weird imbalances in some of their kits like Marduk having ridiculous damage and tackle mixups and Bryan having the best wall game cuz of taunt. The only character that I feel is not OP and yet kind of deserve to be in S is Kazumi. If you look at her she doesn't have anything that will flat out make you go "OP!!" but her fast poke pressure does mean a lot at the highest level of play.

You gotta understand that what that he means he has never played miguel seriously enough or paid more than a passing attention. He knows and can play every character on a fundamental level. He was saying the same thing about law and raven and even though he didn't know a lot of stuff a main would know, he was doing great poking, launches into some medium high level staples and even some setups. All the while asking chat for pointers.
I don't think I'll ever quit Miguel, but i kinda feel like i just wanna leave it up to sephiblack cuz I'll never reach his level.

I know how to say "Tu mera dost hai". My best mate is Pakistani and he always beats me with Paul. I can't react to Paul's low sweeps since Tekken 1. Obviously I'm terrible, but if you ever do a beginners guide on how to deal with Paul's quickest moves, I'd be forever grateful.

Great video! I like how you define the B tier characters. I think people always complain about their so called weak characters when they lost the match, but never think about "Do I use this character to the maximum?".

In one 3 game set is really hard to adjust..
They buffed hwoarang to absurd levels.. from c tier to a tier.. if only they show the same care to other characters
Right after EVO 2019 i had a theory that a crazy/good Hwoarang player can beat Arslan. Not sure why. Just a thought that came up out of nowhere.

i never finished any other reaction videos on a tier list except this. Arslan's vibe is just cool and chill. I learned a few things based on his explanations and opinions

Personally Miguel is my favorite character in the game, his savage stance is outstanding, he definitely does not has his place in rank C. He just needs better lows and I think he can even be placed in A.

To be honest, to master Akuma is like mastering the mechanics of two fighting games simultaneously. He has Street Fighter 4 mechanics that blend well with Tekken combos/ mechanics. That's like taking Wolverine from Marvel VS Capcom and throwing him into Soul Caliber -- while keeping his abilities to do air combos and do hyper combos.

I think what happens is tier lists generally rank the tools that the character has and only takes how good the pilot is into consideration when it can define the game (like Akuma). Your philosophy focuses more on the character and the pilot together. “This character can beat that character if the player is good enough,” or ,”Do you really think this character can’t get a win over that character?” That is why I think you have only B tier. Yes there are characters that can go at the “bottom of the list” but that doesn’t mean they can’t win. “On paper, this character is bad. He had bad frames, punish, and poke. Somehow he is still winning tournaments or placing well. Clearly that means the character isn’t at the bottom of the list.” but in reality it’s the pilot showing how hard they’ve worked with the tools they had.
It is so heartwarming to see Arslan and MMS finally getting in touch. MMS has been admiring Arslan since day one, when everyone else was cheering for Knee.
I agree so much that it depends how much you want to play a character.
I main heihachi and think he has so much potential. I have never seen his lows as bad. All of his lows high crush, you just need to be creative and make reads
The fact that his lows high crush even if they have bad frames on block is a great asset.

I actually agree with the B tier list and it's reasoning... it makes perfect sense.
Especially the part that you say "Why make C and D tier, when they can beat the B tier characters".
B tier characters have weaker / lacking the tools, but they are still viable with a good player.
But the distinction with the B characters is, if they go up against A and S characters, they will have a hard time, mostly because of things that are out of their control. Such as characters not having an answer to the "meta" moves of the higher tiered characters.
Why I find it *A LOT* better is... is that *WHO* are the people that view these tier lists? It's mostly noobs / scrubs / newbies.
Me myself when I started, I found it extremely disheartening to see that Gigas was considered one of the worst character in the game.
And then after some time, seeing that Gigas has made it to tournaments, and having done quite well, made me reconsider tier lists.
I mean, I can't deny that there really are "better" characters, like the higher tiered ones. But that didn't mean that I couldn't pick the "low tier" characters because they wouldn't beat anyone.
And I guess lastly I just wanted to add and talk about... the part with Eliza. Like, Korean tier lists puts her at the bottom, but then some people said "fuck that" and got good with her... and now people class her as high tier.
That's also the reason why I don't like having a tier that's clearly separated from the rest of the pool as garbage "characters", especially when "tekken 7 is a balanced game".
last thing i want to see before I die is a Hwoarang to win a tournament. This character is so punishable yet so overlooked by so many people. This plus him being my main makes this something I really wanna witness

At Lower levels of play Kazuya can be S Tier. But at High levels he is low A at best. Anyone that says otherwise has never used Kazuya in tournament. There is a reason we don't see Kazuya in Top 8. He's not that good.

He means that compared to older tekken titles that tekken 7 favors more offensive gameplay due to the movement being nerfed
