This is so important I’ve learned how to do this and now as a kazuya main I’m learning how to crouchdash guard over and over(so I can do it decently fast)so I can use that instead of wavedashing and not try to randomly block after a wavedash. I saw this from nene the dragon vs Qudans as he would do this instead of a wavedash sometimes and it would make qudans either throw something out or freeze up because of the 50/50 from the crouch dash. This concept has helped me out and I just started using it 2 days ago, it’s so informative

Dash guard is very important. I still need to master it. But it has helped me a lot. And i like that he mentioned that there is a risk you get hit before guarding. Worth the time in practice mode, trust me!
If u play a character with a strong backdash it can be surprising how often you can make it wiff, they'll have to anticipate you being farther away and thats when u can interrupt with keep out jabs or fast counter hitting moves instead of backdashing.. Just a way of dealing with it if they mix in moves to catch ur stepping

I think this is especially useful if you are cornered into the wall because your opponent has the space to create easy and safe whiff punishes. What ive notice is that using dash blocking after an attack near the wall that create space is helpful because my opponents will generally throw a fast ch mid option that will stuff out aggresive option and might either be in punishable frames or huge negative frames so I can leave the wall.
I am trying to learn Zafina at the moment but she seems to lack good tools to get in. This video is super helpful, because if someone isn't reacting to my dash blocks, that will be super helpful in terms of getting in and taking my turn

I was legit playing earlier thinking i need to be less predictable an block more. Also depends on my mood when i play sometimes its cause i wanna beat ppl down so im attacking alot sometimes to chill casual so im more defensive an patient, i need to find the balance.

For some reason it really kills the mood for me, maybe it sounds unprofessionnal, i don't know. WARNING: Due to Tekken's horrible garbage tier net code, things like dash blocking are much harder to do online than offline. If you're doing this and getting hit by moves that range between 10 and 14 frames even though you were holding back way before they come out it's purely due to shit netcode. Don't doubt yourself or get down about your results while learning this. For this reason, it is why you feel like you electrics "just hit" oh I do it because it "just works" other examples are like asuka's b3 and steve's b1. Just keep at it and play offline as much as you can. Good luck to everyone out there trying to get better, It's a long road.
Throwing out something fast and safe like a jab or df1 is a decent response to dash guarding. If blocked, you then have options to collect some information/bait a response from them, perhaps by dash guarding yourself or backdashing to see if they dash guard again or do something else.
So basically learn this when it's useful: after 5 -10 years of experience so you know how to punish everything that can be punished ;O *sigh* Welp, guess I'll get started.

Now against a worse player they'll panic or keep out incorrectly and suddenly you're getting free whiff punishes. Honestly this kind of stuff and block punishment carried me through greens and yellows.

Wave dash to guard is REAL! Arguably more scary and effective than just spamming wavedash
