Glad I got my OTL downpipe back when they were 1200 beans. Currently have a SXTH element intake, OTL downpipe and RK Ti signature catback with the side exit. Waiting on the OTL intercooler to ship so I can put that on with their charge piping. After that just waiting on a turbo inlet then a tune. Not looking for crazy power just want the car to breath better and have a more useful powerband.
Dm me on instagram john_pharaoh when you’re ready for a tune. On Tuesday we have a video coming I’m out reviewing intercoolers. I think you made a good choice with otl but the results are very interesting
@NemtecRacing I don't think I really need the size of the OTL intercooler but I think it helps make the front end look that much better filling in that gap behind the grill. And why not keep it in the same family since I have their downpipe. Looking forward to the video 👍
@NemtecRacing not yet, once I get the intercooler and charge piping on I'll be looking into a tune. Just did the exhaust a week ago, and I'm in no hurry. OTL said they are working on their turbo inlet, and I may wait to do that as well before a tune. Besides the intake manifold itself it will be as close to full bolt on as you can get, I haven't seen enough information about intake manifolds to decide if I want to change that. I think Weldspeed, Racer X fab, and Ichiban make manifolds, but I haven't seen any data on how they perform mostly hearsay. Maybe that can be another video for you folks to make 😉
@@devinsibiski2910I take manifolds are over rated for a stock turbo setup… But yeah with an intercooler you’ll definitely want a tune. If you want to get one from us let me know we can setup you up! Dm me on instagram john_pharaoh
Appreciate the support dude!! We are trying to get videos out we’ve been trying to cook up ideas for this summer so hopefully we will be back for awhile
Glad to see you back! I've been really looking forward to an update about the rear ring and pinion set. Looks like you pulled it out of your mom's car to prep for the race car, but I'm curious what more you've learned while having it in a mostly stock car. Were you able to trigger 2WD mode with it installed? Did it change how the car drove in the different AWD modes significantly?
Dm me on instagram @john_pharaoh I can send you some stuff about it. But in short it makes the car much more consistent around corners. We will really be putting it to the test in the race car and that will be the teller of if it can handle the abuse
Was there a difference in power from the various down pipes? Aside from the MST cat not being any better than stock I couldn’t ascertain which down pipe performed the best.
There wasn’t really a power difference. They have the same CAT in them and are around the same size pipe. So it’s all about the weight, design and price you want to spend
Been lusting after a CR Corolla since they released. Love your content. Should i get the chance to own one, i know exactly what to look for and do! Thank you!
Are you finding a good intake/exhaust combo that isn’t excessively loud? I live in a pretty old neighborhood and cold starts are going to piss my neighbors off because I work overnights. They are good people and honestly, as a daily I don’t need crazy power. I’ve heard that the AWE Touring is still pretty loud and I’m probably going with an Eventuri intake. HKS Legamax might be the exhaust I pick if it’s not crazy loud.
That’s a tough one… A lot of these exhausts are loud.. it is kind of annoying because I get where your coming from and I deal with the same issue especially with a downpipe and catback it’s hard to stay quiet
Tesla Model 3 Performance will run circles around this. As car enthusiasts, we talk about performance and speed. Not emotions, feels, sounds and jerking hand movements
Tesla model 3 performance does a 1/4 mile in around 10.2 to 10.5 at best…. Our goal for our Corolla is a 10.0 or lower…. Sure teslas are quick and cool but our Corolla vs a Tesla are incomparable in terms of smiles per kilowatt/gallons
I got plans to buy the OTL downpipe, after watching this reassured me that I’m making the right choice. I have the HKS legamax exhaust and it’s quiet, so i’m hoping the OTL downpipe won’t make it obnoxiously loud because california’s laws 😅 Don’t want attention from cops lol
Those are really expensive and none of the company’s are willing to send us one. But I have done research on them and talked to each company and to my understanding intake manifolds on the stock turbo are not that important. The stock turbo can only breath so much and so a manifold might be a waste. An aftermarket manifold will supposedly take away low end power to gain high end power. So with a bigger turbo it is necessary to improve flow up top. I wouldn’t recommend it on stock turbo but that’s just me. If they were half the price maybe lol!
@NemtecRacing the weldspeed ones are like 600. I didn't think those were too bad. Supposedly they add low in power also but they don't post a dyno so it's all word of mouth. Hopefully you can get them to send you one lol
Hey John, with the use of these aftermarket downpipes, has there been any issue with rigidity having them installed? A lot of the Yaris owners have reported of their turbo oil drain pipe snapping due to not having a flex joint with the use of a aftermarket downpipe that gets rid of the oem bracket
The otl and L+1 both have flex joints and use that bracket off the trans. So no I have my herd of issues. The OTL would have issues if any where because of the weight of the cast elbow but idk somthing to keep in mind but I know a decent amount of customers running them and no isses

Not with a stock tune. Realistically the car won’t start valve floating stock and it won’t valve float if you get a good solid tune like one from Nemtec or Limit+1. you also shouldn’t mod it to much without a tune, because AFR’s can definitely change with an intercooler and downpipe etc.
@@NemtecRacing really do appreciate the response! Just trying to get more educated on what I can and can’t do with my gr. If I may, last question. Would it be ok if I did for example the sxth intake with their turbo inlet pipe, otl charge pipes (with stock intercooler still) and otl downpipe, would the car still be in the okay range to not need a tune and still not run into valve float or any other issues? Thanks again!
Cause I was also thinking if the intake cause to much AFR change, then maybe just OTL charge pipes on stock intercooler with otl downpipe shouldn’t mess with the AFR significantly enough to require a tune? Idk sorry for the long messages. As I said, trying to get educated haha
I still have it just haven’t done anything with it. I might sell it and trade it for a truck idk. I kinda ran out of money and ran out of motivation to mod it

Seems to be all subjective on what you want. The factory catback flows very well, so unless you are heavily modifying the car you will see little improvement. Find the sound profile you like and the look you want and go with it.
