This was my biggest issue between us. I tried to call myself out on bad behavior or things that were unfair, in the beginning. I also tried to talk to her about her hurtful behavior. If I was calm, cool and empathetic, she would be silent and stare at the ground. Adding nothing to the conversation, even when asked. If I brought up something directly, in a more assertive tone, the issue would be deflected and never resolved. Couldn't get her to set a time to come back to the conversation. Not one time. Drove me absolutely crazy. Anyone have similar experiences
I'll throw this out there in case anyone else has been through the same. It makes a discard extra painful/ confusing with the avodiants use faith and religion as a scapegoat for their actions.
So so true. My one suddenly decided that he didn't want physical relationship before getting married because it is not 'right'in the eyes of God. And he is 43 and had many relationships in the past. Go figure!
@isidorap.2485 I heard something similar after the discard. Her telling me that she doesn't believe in sex before marriage, but never said anything out of fear of what I would say. The wish wash dishonesty is a migraine. The biggest slap in the face was her saying that when she prayed for answers she felt at peace with the choice of discarding and not trying to fix anything. This was a 7 year long distance relationship, we knew eachother for 10, and that's all down the drain over one week of thought.

Are used to feel like when I have an adult conversation with my fearful avoidant husband that his personality would change to a child or a teenager

Or they will take accountability in an avoidant manner,”you’re right I’ll make sure that doesn’t happen again…..discard”
