I love everything about this :D how Harstem found him that Harstem is doing a video about this how he refined the proxy build into something else less than 1000 games to gm how he is flamed and Harstem is asking about it
As protoss you can beat this build with a one base DT drop where you have about 4 dt's at their base at 4:15-4:20. You have to do some micro but the Terran will eventually run out of scans. You'll also need to warp a DT or two at home because he'll be halfway across the map when you are dropping at his side.
So accurate that I don't even need to make my own comment. Terrans can always come from nowhere because there's not a skill barrier to make the highest level. This is why Oliveria can shock IEM with terran.

I think I play with this guy once, in a TvT. It is very difficult to scout into this build since most of the time terran will open with double gas, therefore they will not scv scout and will scout around their base for proxy first. when the time reaper reached his base cyclone will just kill them and we have no information. So unless you just build blind tank you have to be very precise with your reaper to counter it in TvT.
I think the key actually is to just give up the natural and pull up the ramp more than the tank. I've held this twice at this point and that was the most important part. You're just so hard to break up the ramp.
For one of the games, I think I'd lost my reaper but I had I think 4 cyclones total with the last two just finishing as the attack hit. SCV's are key though. You definitely need to pull SCV's. But you generally can chew though a bunch of their scvs on the ramp up and then when they break through you pull. @@owenthailand
@Harstem Omg! That's extremely similar to my most successful strategy I've used as I've played SC2 on and off over the years. I had Broodwar as a kid; loved it. I love SC2 as well, and about halfway through SC2's existence, I made variations of cyclone/SCV rushes that I just called my cyclone rush in replays. It's had several variations because of how the cyclone has changed multiple times over the years, but, no matter the variation or patch, that's always been my best rush! Wow, that's just crazy to see. I have to say that I can play macro games and other builds, too. I'm not a noob or anything, but that's my most successful.
I find the cyclone really funny because if you where around in late 2000s, waiting for SC2 to finally drop, you may have watched some of the trailers Blizzard dropped showcasing the SC2 Alpha at the time. In the video showcasing the Terran, they showcased a little unit called the Cobra, a unit with a railgun that did high damage to armored units, but more importantly fired on the move. This unit was eventually removed from the multiplayer during the alpha and made it's way into the Campaign, most of you would recognize it as the Diamondback. This unit didn't make it to the multiplayer because it was extremely difficult to balance. The ability to fire on the move made it easy to micro to the fullest with little effort. If it was overturned it could basically be an unstoppable death machine. If they tried to nerf it to compensate for the ease of use, it would be basically useless. And so I found it very funny when the cyclone was added because it's lock on wasn't exactly like the diamondback/cobra, but the idea was very similar. And so it's no surprise that the cyclone has had such a turbulent balance history.
One of my friends got really into SC2 because I showed him a marine/scv pull build in WoL and he made GM with it before any of our friend group just by jamming that build every game. It's kind of amazing what works for people sometimes, especially cool hearing this player improved in macro games to such a degree too.

So I'm thinking if ShiFu built his robotics facility in his main instead and saved up some resources for a first immortal maybe he would've held? Maybe by building his infrastructure in his main and then retreating from the natural things would have gone a lot better?
