Greetings, I'm head of the International Number Design Consortium. Thank you for the positive feedback on our work. We are releasing the next version of numbers soon, and look forward to community comments on thr new 9 and 6 designs, as well as the new numbers we are adding.
I will be representing Harstem in these proceedings, now we all heard how numbers confuse Harstem sometimes, it seems to me that a guilty verdict would be a miscarriage of justice given Harstem’s clear mental deficiencies, therefore your honor, Harstem is innocent
The Latin alphabet is solid but Cyrillic might be a little better. It has a couple more letters (one or two are fairly useless) but there's not really any ambiguity, like how c, e, and i for starters are all pronounced differently depending on the context. Cyrillic cursive blows though
"Roman" alphabet doesn't really exist as it was invented centuries before and roman empire didn't change or implement anything to it Or if so we can call it whatever population of humans use it since
@@MattWinkler1 hello! Native user of Cyrillic alphabet here. It's more useful for our languages, because it was created for them, and was created about a thousand years ago, so slavic languages which use this alphabet haven't changed that much. And Latin is like three times older. Btw, languages, which was forced to use Cyrillic alphabet, but not slavic, have a hard time fitting in it: for example kazakh language is based on Cyrillic alphabet, but has 42 letters, while russian alphabet has 33.
Number's shape are based on the number of acute angles in them (and we have just smoothed them out). 1 has one angle, 2 use to look more like a z and 3 like a w on its side and so on
You're mostly right on the number system. After a quick google, it's called the hindu-arabic number system. Aparently invented in India between the 1st and 4th century. Later it was widely adpoted after an arab and a persian mathmetician started using it in their papers in the 9th century. Not much later it would spread to europe between 1000 and 1300.
Our numerals came from India originally, c.6th century. Many still very closely resemble the Sanskrit symbol for the same, Which is why we have many that 'hang' from a top line, like a hand-written 3, and 5 and 7 for eg. Because they passed through the Arabian peninsula, and were adopted into Arab scholars' work on their way to the west, we somewhat erroneously refer to them as Hindu-'Arabic' numerals today. Just because someone picks something up and makes it more popular doesn't, ipso facto, make them the originator or inventor. (Nice segue: A little bit like in 2022 when Maru started playing a certain low ground double-rax reaper build in the GSL and then took it to Atlanta and pioneered variations of it there, even gaining comments from the casters. Then a few months later, Byun rocks up to Katowice 23, plays the same build 3 times in a row, and just because it's the first time Artosis has seen/noticed it, he fawns over it calling it 'Byun's build'.. and voila.. for the next 2 solid years twitch chat, casters, and content creators across the globe erroneously referred to it as the [excuse me] 'Byun build'. It's that easy. But, no - it was Maru's) Back to numbers: the same thing applies. Just because someone/somewhere popularises something doesn't make them the originator. In truth, *our numerals are no more 'Arabic' than curries are British.* 😘 If anyone is so interested, they should look up the origin of the concept of the number Zero [0] and how it came about. That's even more fascinating.
bro look at the damn indian numbers , east arabic numbers and what we have they look absoly nothing like each other We should honestly call them arabic saves the confusion.
the numbers that we have are from Mediterranean arabs. They are not the indian ciphers. They share the same idea, the invention was indian, but in fact it was Mediterranean arabs that gave us our numbers.
I saw this awesome cheese in Katowice you should try! basically Serral just went and won the whole tournament only dropping one map! Quite cheesy if you ask me! Just kidding, but doing one of the roach rushes Serral pulled off vs Maru would be cool. The 3:30 roach warren into ravager ling flood on Hard Lead looked insanely strong and doable, but even game one on Hecate was cool bringing the queens in an overlord! If the cheese works against Maru I don't see why it wouldn't work vs mid GMs
Serral cheeses in a way that doesn't outright win the game, I won't pretend to be able to judge when I did the appropriate amount of damage to reliably win a particular type of macro game as a follow up and stick to more all in stuff or straight up macro games
I'll have to stop you at complementing the way we do numbers... we write them all in filthy base 10! One day we'll be able to succinctly write a third of a kilometer, in glorious base 12.
Won a match with the marauder proxy. was good fun. he just kept seending marines out hoping to fend it off. It was an inevitable loss for him. D3 level execution of offense and defense.
"This build is easy to execute but requires a lot of decision making. For example, I decided to get my marauder surrounded then still win the game, because this race plays itself." lololololol Legend!
Against Z, I suggest a modified version of that build from the one IODIS where the archon team who submitted it actually won. They 4 raxxed and complained about battery overcharge. They transitioned to 1 marauder rax after building a few marines
@@Mglunafh depends on what author wanted, can be both ways tbh, although indeed for "glory pineapple" you would probably use "slava ananasu". It's like "Misha Barathrum" from dota, just sub out dota hero with pineapple

fantastic video, so many games so quickly, just like in the good old days

Edit: the Latin alphabet is the Roman alphabet
The English language doesn't borrow form other languages. It follows them down an ally and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.

I think marauders are one of the most underrated units Terran has.

Strange of the last P to finish his expand after scouting it right?
Also had a battery to fall back to but instead kept taking fights in the open?
imagine protoss having a build like this, the nerf patch would be out before the end of the week.
That feel when you're never greeted anymore as a creature of the sea :(
Hor-stem?
Interesting how nobody scouts early... They would instantly know it s coming when they see no rack at home..
Ok, I guess I'm just going to have to pool first vs Terran this week. Thanks Harstem.
Slava Ananas means "glory pineapple" (not _to_ pineapple).
