Love your videos. Looking good. I installed a usb port with on off switch on top.Had to enlarge hole a little too. Ran my wires down underneath the panel and connected directly to battery with inline fuse. Got another 12v cigarette lighter socket with two usb ports going back to my rear carry rack. Which is removable with harness plug.

That looks great Another great video thanks for sharing so happy Honda has put a place to install that shame it didn't come from the factory that way even if they found a way to charge $20 more in the MSRP
I hear you.. the way I wired it up, the socket is always on, and directly connected to the battery through the fused connection of the charger drop. I can turn off the USB voltage reading by simply pulling out the the USB plug. I can also charge the main battery in the Trail 125 if I want to by using a 12V car cigarette lighter accessory that has the male 12v plug on one end and a two pin Battery Tender plug on the other.
@@Vintage_Garage that all makes good sense to me. Very nice install I really enjoyed your video is always. I keep promising to come see you from Clearwater just hasn't happened yet. I have got the plastic body work off ,and the screw and push pin off the battery cover .. Buy it is tight to get to the connections .. Did i miss something ?
Jack.. thanks for your comments.. If your dealer can't find your owners manual, they will order you a new one from Helm. If you don't want to wait for them, you can order one yourself at this link to Helm: www.helminc.com/helm/Result.asp?Style=helm&Mfg=AHC&Make=AHC&Model=TRAI&Year=&Category=&Keyword=&Module=&selected%5Fmedia= The battery is easy to access, once you get the red body center panel off. Just like in the video, remove the center socket screw. Then press down on the center of the push rivet at the rear left side of the panel to release the rivet, and the pull the rivet out with your fingernail. Then lift up on the rear left side of the panel, and the panel will release along the left side and front. Then the trick is getting the right rear corner of the panel to release. There is a "hook" cast into the panel at its right rear. If you gently lift up on the front of the panel, while looking underneath it at the right rear, you can see the "hook". Gently pull the panel forward while lifting up the front of it to release the hook. The hook looks to be easily breakable, so be careful with it. Once the red center body panel is off, access to the battery is easy.. two socket screws, and pull back the plastic keeper to access the terminals.
Once the plastic body work is off, you should see two zinc colored socket screws that hold the black plastic battery holder in place. Remove those two socket screws, and pull slightly down on the plastic holder to release a step at the top corner of it. Then you can lift back the plastic battery holder and access the terminals. You won't need to completely remove the battery holder.
