    on the right side of bike where you tighten the cap for chain tension, the cap is not aligned exactly on the frame end, there is a gap. maybe water can get inside. look for the gap at 8:29 minutes.

    When you losein the axel nut you always hit the axel in a small amount to free it up on both sides or you will break the cheep pot metal adjusters.

    I had to adjust mine twice in less than 2k of miles. Will put a DID on it eventually.

    That little chain on our 125s seems to be a bit weaker and of less quality that I've seen in the past. I'm at 2600 miles and I don't think it's gonna make it to 5k! My DR chain had 16k before I changed it. I've had the best luck out of RK and DiD chains. Great video man!

      If I get one I may ask the dealer to swap out the chain before I take it.

    I got the 2023 version. I think they might have upgraded the chain. 1400miles and it’s exactly at 1 1/4”.

      That's good, I'm glad they did that. The stock chain from the 2021 was not good.

      Mine had first adjustment at 620 miles (1000km) and 1490 miles (2400km)
      I still think it is too much

    Thanks! Got my Trail's chain back to spec. I'm so glad to be able to do this myself and not have to take it to the dealership! Not sure how much to tighten the axle bolt tho. Is there a torque spec?

      @OffRoadRodeo  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Jeannine! I’m so happy you were able to do it! The torque spec is 59Nm or 44 lb-ft!

      In the USA? Or are you elsewhere? I was under the impression we were unable to get those as a stock feature here.

    Do you tighten the axle nut to a certain spec or just by feel?

    • @OffRoadRodeo
      @OffRoadRodeo  2 роки тому +1

      I did it by feel, but the proper torque spec for the future is 59nm

    Please use a torque wrench on the axel nut. With the technology we have, it is appropriate. On aircraft maintenance, we use a torque wrench on all structural nuts, bolts, etc. I do the same on all of my motorcycles as dictated in the service manuals. Sure you can get away without it most of the time, but what's the point. I'm 72 years old and I use advancements in technology as much as possible. Good basic video, otherwise. Thanks.
