The JUDGE is soveREIGN aka KING of the Court and must ACT accordingly which means, they must be UNBIASED and hear both sides 'in order' to put themselves in the litigants shoes from their perspective whilst being in full compliance with the RULES of LAW and not color over IT with their own ideologies or bias! It's a difficult JOB that as an RN, WE must sacrifice ourselves for others in order to CURE the patient and EDUCATE their family in the process. I once had a hopice patient who was suffering in great pain but her SON was a pharmacist and refused to allow her to have opioids to treat her pain and she would hold her screams in until he left and her daughter was furious with her brother so I sat him down and we had a long talk ... when our meetiing was over, we both cried in each other's arms and he relented to allow his mom to get her pain managed. She did die but she was comfortable and in peace and together our spirits walked to the light.

I seriously question the mothers ability to protect her children. Just from the small clip you can see the manipulation by him and through the testimony. She's the epitome of a DV victim and the judge made the right decision, although he should have been held in contempt. They won't care, tether or not, about the no contact order. I’m leaving this comment in hopes that it helps someone seeking the answers I once needed. I hear this victim speak and she sounded just like my daughter did.
Trauma bonding is a real thing. It isn’t two people bonding over trauma, it’s worse than that. A victim becomes literally addicted to the abuser because the brain releases chemicals during times of stress as well as excitement. When the dv victim leaves, they don’t just miss the person, they quite frankly feel they NEED that person back. They feel lost and hopeless even if the person they are missing has abused them. That’s because the brain is having withdrawals from those chemicals just as an addict has withdrawals.
It was absolutely infuriating when my daughter went back to her abuser only to be beat unrecognizable the second time. Less than a week after being released from the hospital she started to message him again. I had learned that it takes a victim leaving 7 times(That’s a statistical fact) before they leave for good. I wanted to better understand my daughter so I could help her and through that is when I learned the term trauma bonding. I know it’s frustrating but if there’s anyone experiencing the pain of being a victim or the pain of seeing someone you love be a victim, research trauma bonding. I was able to teach my daughter why she was feeling what she was feeling so she didn’t have to live with the guilt of still loving a person who almost killed her. I’m relieved to report she’s in a healthy relationship and my grandson is a healthy 4 month old now, she was pregnant at the time of the second assault.
For today, you’re going to be ok. Take today and live in it.
    That’s all.

You mam are exactly right! A Trauma Bond is insanely strong, and most times overrides any form or reasonable thinking in the victim. I was in an abusive relationship for over 13 years, broken bones, black eyes, split lips, and the emotional trauma was still not enough to break the trauma bond I had with him. I had three children, and it wasn't until he started focusing his abuse on my children, that I actually left for good & never looked back. (I didn't see at that time how him abusing me was traumatic to them as well) Even then.. It was NOT until I started getting online and researching domestic violence... & EDUCATED myself about different forms of abuse & how no matter what "I" did, or how much I loved him, or how many times I tried to explain to him how his actions were hurting our children and I... I was NEVER going to be able to change him. I couldn't change him. Bc I was not the cause of his behavior as he made me believe.. it was all on HIM, and WHO HE WAS....
After I educated myself on all this, I was finially able to break every bond we had.
We have been superated for over 11 years now.. He is strung out on drugs, still abuses women when not in jail, does not see our children at all (his choice & I'm happy with that), & I have earned an Associate degree in science & am currently in the RN Nursing program! Something he would NEVER let me do (go to school). Life is so much better now, my kids are happy & I have been with a wonderful, kind, sweet man for over 6 years now! ❤️

Thank you- I got flamed like nuts because I said that this was the way about 90% of these cases play out on a different vid you did- but it is. I work in drug rehab- as a volunteer, I don't mean to misrepresent myself, I'm not a doctor or anything like that- just a volunteer counselor- but I see these cases all the time man. And every time- it gets to the court room; the couple have made up and now the guy wants to pretend he did nothing and the girl wants everyone to forget she called the cops- it's ridiculous. This is the only time you see ppl ignore the court's orders and think because their girlfriend is ok with it- it will be alright. No idea why they think that all the sudden- makes zero sense.

Defense attorneys are sometimes portrayed as real slime balls in legal dramas, but their job is to emphatically defend their client, while maintaining their ethical obligations. The judge, the plaintiff, and the defense are understanding and they are doing their best. Good on Mr. Elmen.

I disagree! HE needs professional help to MANage his ANGER issues that custoMARilY goes back to childhood when the child was verbally, physically and/or sexually abused and it MANifests in angry outburst at inappropriate times. The so called victim in this case confessed that she was the aggressor and their fight was blown out of proportion by the PAID advocates as $ is the root of all evil and as an UNPAID advocate, I can testify that it matters! and being PAID to advocate for the victim INTERFERES with GOoD JUDGEMENT and decision making as IF this couple doesn't get professional help as they so very much NEED, 1 or both will suffer the consequences ..and if not in this relationship, it will be in another. Jail is not the answer et al...

Omg! He just gave the judge the finger!😡btw, I am currently going through a very serious case with past abuse, his lawyer kept saying “would you be surprised t hear none of your allegations actually happened”? That’s all his lawyer has, so much so the judge added 4 mor days for the defence. I had 3 hours of testimony and questioning in a total of 3 days. I may add this also happened close to 40 years ago and I have no witness left alive to confirm or deny. So obviously my case is strong. I have a hard time with lawyers that protect these monsters, but I know it’s a job

This attorney Robert is a prize and has heart ~
He saved his client a couple of times
And really as much as we lol , someone has to deal and speak for these people ,
However ridiculous , this is probably all they ‘do’ ,
Drama and existing to the next crisis and having a group of people trying to manage them
Not a very nice life , I’m not envious , I wish they would work , I wish the best for them
This Robert was a real flower amongst a tragic situation ✨
