I'm going to make a confession: I helped 3 teenage girls pass parallel parking by telling a fib. I told my daughters that I have a theory that the ability had a connection to a gene. Seriously, I said, "Parallel parking had always seemed so easy for me ....so it will be easy for you." Truthfully, it took years to feel comfortable doing that maneuver. But they didn't know that.🤣
I failed parallel parking in my driver's test in a small town. I was 15, 5' 2" tall, 100 pounds soaking wet, in a 1964 Ford Fairlane station wagon (3 rows of seats, a WIDE wheelbase). The examiner said, and I quote: "You're such a tiny, little girl, in this HUGE car, and we don't even have any parallel parking in our town. I'm gonna pass you." 😁
As someone who also doesn't parallel park, I think we need to take up a collection to pay for a patient, calm, encouraging professional driving instructor to give Janelle some private lessons in an oversized SUV and then send her to take her test in a compact car. Sometimes friends & family are not cut out with the patience to teach.
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣OMGosh I CAN SOOOOO RELATE, I’m 65 and have NEVER gotten the hang of it! Looks like I’m in great company. I will park farther away from my destination and walk before attempting to parallel park. Way to fun! Mike, sign me up for your class. 😂
Omg Judge Marable had some craziness going on today. He was arguing with a couple of attorneys. He invited one of them to go to Karaoke with him and he would buy him a drink. The other attorney was so mad at him and Marable said I know that if you were here in court that you would punch me in the nose. Ah good times lol.
I hope someone tells poor Janell that she has people all over cheering her on. Maybe that will give her the confidence boost she needs to be able to parallel park.
Once Janelle passes and finally gets that confidence built up, she will NEVER forget how hard she worked to get parallel parking down. She will be able to do it in her sleep! I love Judge Simpson and he is absolutely right! I do believe she’s overthinking it. I hope she is successful the next time.
Right!! She doesn’t know that she had SO MANY people rooting for her and sending her blessings and hugs! But I am thinking that someone who is a fan of your show and knows her says…”do you know your on Law Talk with Mike”. LOL
I was so afraid this was the woman from before. My mother had severe problems with backing and parking. I'm so lucky I had an excellent driver Ed instructor. He had a fool proof method that has worked for me every time. 1. Pull up parallel to the front vehicle. 2. Back straight back, slowly. 3. When your steering wheel gets even to the back corner of that front vehicle. 4. Cut the wheel hard (spin the wheel clockwise) 5. When your front bumper is just past the lead vehicles bumper cut back the other direction hard.
Exactly how my boyfriend taught me! I was so ready to ace my driving test, but when it came to the parallel park I notice a Corvette Stingray (early 70s model) was parked perpendicular to the lines painted for the parking test, and it's front end was hanging over the parking bump and well inside the space. I told the DOT guy that we needed to find another place to do the test because I didn't want to risk damaging that Vette. He told me that was the only space we could use, but that I showed good judgment so he would let me skip it. "But I practiced! I can do it!" I wailed like a complete idiot.
At 16, I passed parallel parking with a heavy duty 3/4 ton International Harvester Travelall(think a Suburban, but even beastlier) AND a manual transmission on the first try at the Aurora DMV testing center that was famed far and wide for failing first timers. Even got a complement from the examiner. Her problem is 110% psychological. Poor woman just needs a patient, methodical teacher. Teach her in a beast and let her test in compact.
Drivers ED saved my kids and us as parents with parallel parking, and other driving requirements to pass the test. Was worth it in gold! They also taught our kids the road rules, because there is small (or big) stuff we forget about road rules that are important to pass the test. When my daughter first started driving she kept getting her arms tangled, she would try to turn the corner without letting go of the steering wheel, or letting it spin under her palms. She had a death grip. I about lost it when she almost crashed. Thankfully the drivers ED teacher fixed it 🤣🤣 She says mom screamed and dad just laughed...🙄
Our 15 yr old daughter is far too cautious as well so I can relate. Last month she was practicing on local highway with us all in car and 80+ yr old man pulled out in front of her and totaled our car. We parents have broken bones, fortunately kids all good. Thankful she’s taking drivers Ed this semester to help her overcome a new fear of driving!
I’m not saying hide from your problems, but googling counties in your state that don’t require parallel parking for the driving test can be helpful lol. I know a ton of people who can’t do it and just schedule a test super far away in order to pass (usually in more rural counties). 😆
Its funny my mom forgot to teach me how to parallel park and when I went for my test I somehow nailed it. He said thats one of the best he had seen. I have had guys clap which is funny. I do have a little trouble when it dark though.
I took my test for my driver's license 30 years ago and it did not include parallel parking. Honestly here in Arizona, I have never needed to parallel park! Lmao
This was as good as Judge Middleton recommending the guy with the escaping cows, give the cows to "the Davis farm" with Debbie there in the courtroom. Janelle needs to do it with her a 12 passenger van to learn with. That's what my parents did to me,. I was driving a Chevy 12 passenger van with for six months, then put me in a Chevy Cavalier wagon to take the test. I was nervous about doing a three point turn and parallel parking in a vehicle so small... Great video! 😎
I think Mr. Johnson did very well by his cases so far. I think his demeanor might have a lot to do with it. He's just so candid and really has a great sense of humor. I recommend he should start a new career as a stand up act. I do mean it seriously, he is very talented in his own way. I enjoyed it totally. Thanks Mike.✨✨✨✨🌟 Judge Simpson is just got me rolling too. I'd be honored to go before his honor.
My eldest daughter grew up in the city. She only parallel parked. When she went off to college in a rural town, she called me crying. It had taken her twenty minutes and seven sorority sisters for her to pull into the spot!
Prosecutor does not think it is funny, when Miss Jannelle said she can't parallel park. Everyone else is laughing but him. I guess he thinks it wouldn't look good if the prosecutor is laughing too. But I did see him snicker once.
Last winter I had to parallel park my extended cab pickup in a space maybe 18" longer than the truck. It was either that or walk about 7 blocks in a snow storm. Only took me 2 tries.

As far as parallel parking goes, when I took driver's Ed in Chicago in the 70s, we were not taught parallel parking, just angle parking. In Chicago, almost everything is parallel parking. The suburban schools taught parallel parking, but almost everything there was angle parking! Government ideas just blossom everywhere!
There are some people who just don't have the ability and unfortunately, many of them DO pass the exam hahaha. There are many who don't have the spatial awareness. I had a gf who had literally zero hand eye co-ordination. I tried to teach her to play catch one time. It was bizarre to see her put her glove out to catch the ball...nowhere near where it was and about a second after it went past her. I gave up. It wasn't just a baseball. I remember tossing a wrapped candy to her one time. It hit her in the chest and THEN she put her hand up to catch it.....lol.
My mom drove 20 years with no licence, until she ran a red light taking me to 1st grade and got a ticket in 1968. Turned out she never had a birth certificate (she was born at home) and that's why she didn't have a licence. I don't know how she got a bank account and cashed checks! She applied for a birth certificate, but when the state of OK researched her family to get her birth date, it turned out she was a year older than she thought she was! She never accepted it.
Mike...use your YT dividends to send this lady to my state...my 85 yr old Mom will have parallel parking I. 30 minutes...she is the bomb at parallel parking
Hey man....parallel parking is no joke. I think I passed by the skin of my whitewalls. I always go with public parking 100%; so, I understand Ms. Manigault. :)
Hello Mike, how do you find these case's? I was fairly straight faced with the parallel parking. 🤔🙂I understood her frustration but then came Mr. JOHNSON! Good morning your honor, I have many case's before you today. ⚖️📁📂🗂 & I have to be before you tomorrow!🥴 My case this AM was dismissed 💬💬💬 & I'm being held🥴💬💬💬 (Probation Violation). In the other 3 case's well you see...💬💬💬💬🙄... Thank you for listening your honor!🗨🤭 By the way your honor, what time ⏰️ will you pick me up so that I can leave Michigan. 🛣🧭 You are, still giving me a ride in the back of the truck...🛻 right???👐😧 Mike, that was a jem. 💎 Thank you & have a great weekend?👌😎
It's been a long time since I belly laughed. Man, I just got rolling after that first dude and she comes out with parking.. I snorted. This was a great one!
This might be the most wholesome court call I’ve ever seen. Weird place to find something uplifting. But I could not stop smiling and laughing through the entire thing 😂
When I took driver's Ed 50 years ago, yes I am a grandma, I hit the car in front of me during the parallel parking section of "behind the wheel training"...my instructor sitting in the passenger seat was a family friend and football coach for my brother said "get us the hell out of here". This was at the curb next to the town police station. LOL 😂😂😂 Go Janelle!
Didn't go for my licence for numerous reasons, dyslexia just one, particularly discombobulating when backing up...of a mind, those who actually overcome it PPing has more to do with muscle memory gained threw sheer repetition.
I had to take my driver's test (traveller's test?) in a 1969 Ford Econline van with no windows in the back and manual steering. I didn't pass parallel parking. The instructor said he probably couldn't either. Next time, I had to use our other family car, a huge Ford Ltd station wagon. It had power steering. I somehow passed.
Interesting bond conditions- no alcohol or drugs. Notice that it is a no insurance case.... Oooops, you just said all that... Sorry, I tend to comment as I watch....
growing up in Chicago I could squeeze my daddy's Pontiac in a Volkswagen size spot. I taught all my friends how to parallel park My Dad was so good too. but most of my friends get out and I par for them.
Here’s how I parallel park: I find a pull in spot! I swear I’d find a way to get a license somewhere where they don’t require parallel parking for gosh sakes!! New cars do it for you! Parallel parking is bs. 😂
I avoid parallel parking because it always takes three or four adjustments to get close enough to the curb, but I remember the process. To repeat what Cher in "Clueless" told her stepbrother, "Why? Everywhere you go has valet."
In New Zealand we can fail the parallel parking but still pass the test. I am a volunteer driving mentor for refugees. Just takes a few tricks and some patience of a good instructor !! Poor lady 😂
I like Judge Simpson as much as the next person but will someone please fix his camera angle? 😄 Low angles are not flattering for many of us. If it was at eye level and off to one side it would be great. Unlike judge Simpson, there is no angle that can help me. 😄
Awwh Mike, that’s why I love your channel, that we are all invested in this lady conquering parallel parking, even the judge, great content, comments, and care for the community!! You da best, and Debbie too!
could have let mr johnson do a work release- helping the parallel parking lady learn how to park…. wait, that would be cruel and unusual and hazardous punishment.
She needs to learn with a car to line up with. Visually 2 cones won’t work as well. Once you learn to line up with the car in front in conceptually easier to see. However, I’m not volunteering my new car lol.
That last guy; nice people do stupid things while under the influence, the lucky ones get caught and learn their lessons before they kill someone. Plenty of nice guys stuck in jail for a long time because they made one stupid mistake. Sadly that mistake ruins their life and the life of the victims #nowinners
She needs to smoke some weed to relax and then practice 😂 jk I grew up in South and can parallel park…but in South, it should be required to be able to back a small trailer or boat into a space because a lot of people pull these things but don’t know how to back them!
I forget if you mentioned it in this video or another, but just wanted to commend and thank you for steering clear of the Alex Jones stuff. It's a testament to the character of you and the channel.
If the two year old has a beard you could have competition. LOL It occurred to me watching this that prisoners clothing went from bright orange that made escapees easier to spot in the woods, to green stripes easier to spot in the burnt out wasteland that used to be forests. A sure sign of climate change, or the price of orange dye.
I didn't have to parallel park on my test. I am 49 yrs old and have never parallel parked in my life, getting my license at 17. Never have, never will, never could. My husband passed away at 45, but since we were teenagers until the day he died, I would pull into our garage or driveway and every day, he would turn my car around so I never had to back up. 🤣🤣True story. He even said I was the only person who could make a 3 car garage into a 1 car garage by how badly I parked. 😛😛 You should have seen me, very petite, 5'0, pregnant with twins, trying to reach the pedals & see over the dashboard, while fitting my belly behind the steering wheel and trying to park. It was so sad.
It’s not hard. You pull up so you are side by side with the car in front of the spot. You reverse until the side mirror lines up with the bumper. You turn the shell all the way continuing to reverse until it clears the front car then turn it all the way the other way until you are straightened out
I didn't have to parallel park when I had my driver's test, but it was in the middle of nowhere Nebraska and almost 25 years ago. She seems like a sweet lady, I hope she gets there 🤣
The sad part is they should tell her watch UA-cam videos on how to park, as people suck at explaining what to do. I would of failed my test, but it was not on my test, they never made me do it lol.
There are places that you don’t actually have to parallel park to get your drivers license? I’m in Texas and we have to do it although there’s not a whole Lotta parallel parking opportunities here
The UA-cam channel, The Block Through A Lens, frequently features the cursed driveway where a woman can’t properly reverse for the life of her. Some skills that a lot of us take for granted simply elude some folks. Then again the world is populated with a whole lot of people that think they are good drivers that just aren’t.
Wow old JJ better get his act together no matter where he lives! I don’t understand why people plead no contest! I mean if you did it, say so!! I sure would! As for our cutie miss parallel Parker NOT!! Bless her ❤️ she is using too many cars for sure!! I can park but if I tried different cars everyday not sure I could do it!! Hope she passes. Thanks Mike you are the BEST Oh would love video if the 2 yo that is the best n worst age lol 😂
Judge Simpson is just having to much fun today!!! LOL!!! Kind of a side question but about every other judge, when they're swearing someone in, about half of them will say "so help you God". Does it just vary on what the judge feels like or does it vary by county what's required? I had to witness in a divorce case not long ago and the judge did say the "so help you God" but I'm in Ohio so not sure if it's a state or county thing that makes the difference
@7:59. Yes. @LTWM please follow Janelle's parking/license status. She deserves some serious congrats WHEN she gets it, not if she gets it. She'll get it and deserves some vindication when she does so. Hell, if she were close enough, I will offer to teach her, I can teach anyone how to do so if I could teach my GF at the time through tears. She literally got mad at me, tried agoin, and did it. because she was mad. The was able to do it again. Then again. I just had to make her mad at me. I'll piss off Janelle with me if it will help her get through what is needed (and I'll apologize later). I think she succeeded just out of spite for me. I'm ok with that. If folks succeed.

I agree. My stepdad took over for me because my mom and I didn’t work out. Hopefully she gets it soon.
I did my driver's test in a Geo Metro. I had enough room between the cones for 2 cars. It was a cake walk
Oh, I feel for her ❤
I did mine in NC, in the Country, and thankfully didn't have to parallel park in the late 90's
@@TMS-pj7fp thank you! I was early 90s and swear we didn't have to do it as part of a road test.
Poor Janelle. I was hoping she could get this sorted out. I haven’t parallel parked since my test so I feel for her.

One is reminded of Yoda: "Do! Or do not! There is no try."
Maybe get a driving instructor instead of asking your entire family for help with parallel parking.
growing up in Chicago I could squeeze my daddy's Pontiac in a Volkswagen size spot.
Low angles are not flattering for many of us. If it was at eye level and off to one side it would be great. Unlike judge Simpson, there is no angle that can help me. 😄
Simpson is gold
Awwh Mike, that’s why I love your channel, that we are all invested in this lady conquering parallel parking, even the judge, great content, comments, and care for the community!! You da best, and Debbie too!
could have let mr johnson do a work release- helping the parallel parking lady learn how to park…. wait, that would be cruel and unusual and hazardous punishment.
Oh James Johnson had a personality filled appearance in front of Judge Simpson again today. It was the one case I was able to catch today!
She needs to smoke some weed to relax and then practice 😂 jk
I grew up in South and can parallel park…but in South, it should be required to be able to back a small trailer or boat into a space because a lot of people pull these things but don’t know how to back them!
I forget if you mentioned it in this video or another, but just wanted to commend and thank you for steering clear of the Alex Jones stuff. It's a testament to the character of you and the channel.
I know where there is free logging AND your schedule will clear right up!
I want to know about K51! He was interesting because of his casual attitude.
My parallel parking was on an empty street. I still can't parallel park. It's a good thing I live in a small town.
I really want to go help her learn to parallel park! That poor girl!
It’s not hard. You pull up so you are side by side with the car in front of the spot. You reverse until the side mirror lines up with the bumper. You turn the shell all the way continuing to reverse until it clears the front car then turn it all the way the other way until you are straightened out
My name is Jonelle. I can relate to Janelle. Thank goodness I don't have to take a driving test, because at 57 I can't do it. 🤗💚☮
I was busting a gut throughout this one. Absolute classic. Great video Mike.
I didn't have to parallel park when I had my driver's test, but it was in the middle of nowhere Nebraska and almost 25 years ago. She seems like a sweet lady, I hope she gets there 🤣
Judge should of asked Melissa Kliemann to go assist her.
The sad part is they should tell her watch UA-cam videos on how to park, as people suck at explaining what to do. I would of failed my test, but it was not on my test, they never made me do it lol.
Someone tell the gal that she should take the motorcycle test - no parallel parking!
If that guy can juggle that many crimes, he should put that energy into starting a legit business and try working for a living.
We all cant parell park. I had to do it for a bit when I lived in a mobile home park and it was a nightmare
There are places that you don’t actually have to parallel park to get your drivers license? I’m in Texas and we have to do it although there’s not a whole Lotta parallel parking opportunities here
I WILL DRIVE YOU THE BORDER!!!!!!!! I’m screaming!!!!!! Lmaooooo
🤩
Woot first comment, too bad I missed the live stream oh well next time.
That channel’s videos have you on the edge of your seat. Woe betide any wheelie bins or rubbish bags on the curb.
Great advice from the Judge!
Poor lady needs a car that “ parks” itself
Hi Mike! 👋 greetings from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 ❤️
Hi 🇦🇺
It's funny, too, whenever Judge Simpson has to issue an FTA warrant, his voice always has that undertone of
"I'm not mad...Just disappointed."
Yup
A New Yorker taught me how to parallel park 😬
Maybe she should rent one of those cars that parallel parks itself.
Poor Ms. Manigold. I think Judge Simpson should personally instruct her in the courtbouse parking lot.
He is almost to that point😂
This is the funnest video I’ve watched today! Thank you, for sharing! You’re the best! 🙏🏻
Thank You
Oh no! She didn't pass? I guess I'll see.
I feel bad for her!! I hope she gets them soon!
Thanks Mike you are the BEST
Oh would love video if the 2 yo that is the best n worst age lol 😂
👍
Judge Simpson is just having to much fun today!!! LOL!!! Kind of a side question but about every other judge, when they're swearing someone in, about half of them will say "so help you God". Does it just vary on what the judge feels like or does it vary by county what's required? I had to witness in a divorce case not long ago and the judge did say the "so help you God" but I'm in Ohio so not sure if it's a state or county thing that makes the difference
It’s really up to the judge as a practical matter
👍
