That scalp is going to tighten and burn for a week. Hair looks amazing.

That shouldn’t happen.
@@burnthegovernment7359 it depends. I have fairly light hair naturally, and when i was a bleach and tone, (Im a hair colorist) i got the burning and tight scalp frequently. Its just spots of superficial chemical burns. Not pleasant, but not a big deal either. Some of my clients had this and others didnt. It helps to have VERY dirty hair (and no scratching) ahead of time.
@@nikki1400 yea I was gonna say definitely don’t shampoo ur hair for a few days before u do it but idk I personally dunno anyone who gets that, mine barely even burns when I have it on so I couldn’t imagine having that last. I’m a hair colorist in training as well I’ve been dying my hair forever
@@burnthegovernment7359 when its the entire head being done and its a double process it can happen. It shouldnt be severe. Large wounds or hair falling out isnt normal, but after plentifully applied bleach has been left on the scalp for over an hour, some superficial breaks in the skin can happen. I would get terribly itchy during processing as well, price to pay for strikingly blonde hair. Ice cold water at the backwash helps a lot!

True..but i have naturally dark hair...and i got my hair playboy blonde and it was like black and my hair went to my butt still does lol
My virgin hair was dark brown and I was able to get to platinum years ago in one shot without much damage to my hair. I did a bond builder, keratin and protein treatment to help prevent further damage also.
My birthday coming up and I want to dye mines dark ginger. It is also dark brown and virgin hair
Omg how!? I’ve done 3 shots and it’s still pretty yellow!😭
My mom is a stylist and used bleach powder with 40 developer. She applied it to my entire head (not the roots) left it on for a 25 minutes and then applied it to my roots left it for 20 minutes more. Different hair will have different results. Depends on texture. People with finer hair may not need 40 developer.
@@missromiea that’s the beauty of virgin hair. When it’s done properly, it lightens beautifully

I went platinum in one sitting when I was a teen. It seemed fine until a week later when I had giant scabs all over my head from the chemical burns. Don't do this.

@@andler5061 people are different. Foh
Well now we have Olaplex 🤷🏻♀️
it depends on the person. i had gone from dark brown, almost black, to platinum in one sitting with zero issues.
Sounds like your stylist effed up
Going from black to platinum in one visit is an immediate red flag. If a stylist says that run the opposite direction. They are going to fry your hair and ruin your scalp
Ohhh woww ok!!
I was legit thinking, finally, here is a hair dresser who can actually make the hair icy grey!!
@@bluebellcrushedvelvet Platinum is a very dangerous color to try and get, especially if you have dark hair. Black hair is going from a 1, the absolute darkest, to a 10, the absolute lightest it can be. Lighter hair colors, 7-9, can reach it easier.
The amount of chemicals needed to rid the hair of its pigment is insane and there’s a reason hairstylists won’t do it. Because it will ruin the hair and the scalp, almost certainly.
@@alteregobruh 🥺🥺😢😢 I guess I will never have it then huh?? It's always been my dream to have silver hair!!
But I'm a brunette 😣😣😓
This crushes my soul. Thank u for the explanation 😓😓
@@bluebellcrushedvelvet Well, I think you can use hair dye to do things, but I’m not sure on that. I’m no hairstylist, after all, and I’m far from an expert. I don’t know if they use hair dye to lighten hair or if they simply bleach it to the moon and back. But it all also depends on how dark your hair is and how light you want to go! Consult your hairstylist to see what healthy options you have, talk about lightenings and hair dyes, etc.
I’m glad to have helped but you should still talk to a professional, because while this can be dangerous, it may not be that bad depending on the person. Have a good day, and there are still plenty of alternatives that you can do with your hair!
@@alteregobruh 😣😣😫😭😭💗❤💗 thank you so much though.

My hair is black. I can go to platinum as well in one day. I do have short hair. But my secret is coconut oil massaged into my hair first. Then of course bleach applied to tips, mid shaft, and finally roots. You just have to be careful and take your time. Keep it checked.
Actually tips process the quickest so midshaft roots tips is usually a safer bet if you want to minimize damage. And because unless your hair is super short it tends to be naturally lighter near the tips because of sun exposure
I couldn’t imagine damaging my natural hair again. Lesson learned years ago. Where’s my wig😂😂😂😂

The fact that his hair still looks so healthy, amazing job!!!
“Nobody can get me to platinum” maybe that’s because it’ll destroy your entire hair and scalp with the amount of bleach they need to use, but hey, that’s none of my business 🤷♀️
Notice how there’s little breakage and the hair still looks soft. 😊 that’s called a bond builder that you can add to bleach to keep the hair from completely deteriorating and they have a bunch of other bond building treatments too. So you were right it’s not your business because you seem uneducated my guy. That’s okay tho bc now you know.
Wait i wanted to have some sections of my hair to be platinum (skunk haircut) is it really going to be that damaging? Now im scared
It honestly just depends I’m 14 but my mom is a hair stylist and instructor and she tells me all the stuff but moving on, it depends on The persons hair type, if they have a dry or or oily scalp type, and if the hairstylist Added they binder to keep the hair from frying. Also in this video she’s using charcoal bleach which is much better for you than regular bleach it has less chemicals in it and doesn’t burn as much.
Yep, a good hairdresser will not only say it because of those reasons but also because they want you too look good. This hair colour does not look good with certain eye colours or skin tones. So instead of making fast money these hair dressers are actually interested in making you look good.
@@BeanEggBabie Tell me you’re passive aggressive in confrontations without *telling* me you’re passive aggressive in confrontations.

Big facts. But you can cap someone with long hair and put them under the big hair dryer. It should help the process without drying out the bleach.

That’s charcoal bleach
@@bexstotts6035 But also the point of charcoal bleach is that it lightens and tones in one step. So even though stylist didn't necessarily apply a separate toner, the hair was toned.
Maybe it was meant as in “now this shot is without the toner”?
Bleach doesn't lather. Not only is it a toning bleach, but that's purple shampoo at the end. At least purple shampoo at the end.
Yes they were so proud they were able to wash it out hahaha jk
I had a hair dresser try to get me to platinum. Ended up giving me chemical burns and my hair fell out. Didn't even get a refund either. Smh.
I cried when she chose to not use any toner. 😭
"No toner" .... but the bleach itself has toning pigment.... and this is why social media makes being a hairstylist so hard ....
She used toner. Bleach is not gray
@Sharon rose bleach can come in several different colors. And purple tends to look Grey on camera. And nowadays most bleaches have purple pigment to help combat the red/orange that is revealed when bleaching.
It's charcoal based, so it's toning as it lifts... Buuuuuuut I still saw yellow. 🤷🏽♀️

How you gonna say "no toner," when I saw that purple shampoo?👀😒
Purple shampoo isn’t toner though.
@@laura.bt83 I know, it just deposits purple to cancel yellow tones. I've known people to believe you can lift to platinum without canceling the yellow. They just think it hasn't processed enough and end up melt their hair. I felt the vid unintentionally aided in that misconception. Perhaps I could have toned down the " 'tude." A general rule I have, is that if you need rubber gloves to handle the chemicals, I don't want them on my scalp.
my ma says it just dries out her hands and she doesn’t like it
i’m studying to be a hairdresser, these are really drying to your hands and i’ve had my hands flaring up with eczema i haven’t had since i was 8. these chemicals are safe on your hair but slathering it on your hands multiple times a day can’t be good for anyone

False. If his stylist educated him he should have the right products at home to do upkeep. If it ends up bone dry it’s his own fault for not acknowledging the high Maintenance the color comes with.

No way I'd ever think about having my hair colored again. I hate dealing with roots. Too costly. And if I colored it myself it would fall out. 😂
But if that's you in the profile picture, your hair is beautiful without all those harmful chemicals. I wouldn't color mine either if I could get to your natural color. I'm thinking your hair must have been black before graying since it's such a beautiful silverish shade. Black hair turns the most beautiful shade of silver. Mine is brown. I've wanted to dye my hair a certain color for so long. I've had 3 hairdressers do it and NONE of them could get it right.
I want my hair to be an ombre and they all never wanted to do it, so they'd give me highlights instead which was nice but super annoying since it's not what I wanted and I think highlights look kinda dumb on me.
And every single time they underestimated how resistant my hair is because the highlights were never as light as I wanted them to be...
Btw all the hairdressers I went to are family members and yes, I did pay them.

I only dyed my hair once.
I wanted to get the "basic" black with blue reflections. Think Raven Blue, where it's mostly black unless the light strikes directly and makes it blue. I'll call that blue-black for ease of typing despite not being as accurate.
My natural hair colour is an extremely dark brown, almost black.
Basically the hairdresser told me doing highlights would be better than dying in an ombre from natural to blue-black like I wanted. I thought, she's a professional so she knows better than me, I'll just do as she says.
Bleaching went wonderfully, no damage and my hair was just about white.
Colour is applied and I can't help but feel that it looks purple on my hair despite the dye itself looking a deep dark blue.
In the end I hated the way it looked as my hair looked like it had streaks of purple instead of shining blue all around.
Ended up trimming just about all of it 3 months down the line.
*My lesson was learnt:* Never dye your hair if your artist doesn't agree or feel confident enough to pull off what you wish. It's better to find someone else that can than the disappointment of a missed attempt.
