Is it protective? I just got the caudabe synthesis which is supposed to be more protective then the one reviewed but it’s still super slim and it makes me question how protective it is. Have you had problems?
Just got a 12 Pro and was wondering how these cases were. I definitely would not have bought the Sheath without this drop test. It doesn't look or feel like it's protective at all, but I suppose looks could be deceiving! Thank you for doing the only drop test for this case on the internet.
The thud is a good thing afaik. If it bounces, then there is a much greater impulse experienced. This shows the case is distributing and dispersing the impact shock. If I had an iPhone, this is the case I'd get!
I have both and I love both. I personally still like my sheath a little more. The synthesis can be a little slippery at times. It’s not an uncomfortable amount of slipperiness though. The sides still have a gripped texture but the back is smooth. The Sheath feels more comfortable because the whole case is textured. If you’re trying to decide which one to buy, I would definitely choose the Sheath 👍🏼.
I’ve been making tweaks to it. Waiting for more shock absorbing pads to show up...going to make another big tweak in the next couple of weeks that’s going to make drops even better.
I just had the case delivered, and when I put it on, the right side of the case didn’t pop in and created air bubbles on the right side, does anyone know how to fix?

okay I know this is a weird comment, but I wanna say this to people considering buying this phone--If you have dry hands, do not buy this case. I had this phone case for a few months and I ended up giving it away because the texture was drying out my hands and I literally started dropping it all the time. I ended up getting really frustrated with the material, even though I liked it at first. Hope that's helpful!

That thud was so bad. I’m not sure if it was due to the impact travelling through the brick, through the wood and into the floor that the thud seemed so muted.

The texture looks similar to the incipio case I have for my Samsung S20 .I like how the case didn't bounce ,then again I wonder how much shock the internals get.
I’m trying to figure out a way to use the accelerometers to measure the impact but am stuck on the fact that different materials absorb shock differently...

I know cases are your bread and butter but any chance you start doing reviews on monitors or laptops sometime in the future? I like how your unbiased and put in time and effort to review products and there's just too many biased/sponsored reviews on UA-cam when it comes to monutors/laptops so it would be nice to get a true review. Plus I think it would be fun for you to change it up since reviewing cases over and over again must get a bit mentally exhausting lol.
Getting the stuff is my problem. When companies give you stuff, they expect you to say certain things. So I’ll buy most of it myself. Cases are easy to BUT laptops and monitors? That gets expensive quick. With that being said, I’ve started reviewing iPad cases, screen protectors and keyboards. To branch out. Mildly.

Just ordered this before seeing this and now regret it. Not sure how independent reviewers can afford to drop test with the risk of a phone shattering like that? Ouch.

I saw first advertising on my Facebook. Now it’s one of my favorite cases. Shealth and synthesis are the best for me.
I havnt noticed any wear or issues with my sheath. Used my for going on 2yrs now. Id stand by the 6ft drop rating as well.
I’ve also accidentally dropped from 8 feet on a ladder onto concrete. No issues.

i had this case, its too slippery and i feel it adds more bulk than the silicone case, didnt feel safe with this case on...
