Spent the last two days ripping everything out of the engine compartment. Deep dive. Got done, added coolant, all over the floor. Water pump or thermostat, three layers back. Screw it, I am going inside and regroup. Watched this. So, @ 2:08:28 you were not alone. We will be better and back at it tomorrow.
I feel like the disparity between wheel and controller is only going to grow with these physics changes. I was never that great in GT3 on controller but now I’m really struggling to get anywhere near the pace needed for the A rated DR lobbies
I'm in the same boat and feel exactly the same. Brake modulation is quite hard on controller. And not everyone has it in the budget or priority to get a wheel/pedal set etc..
well, in any game that needs precision, controller will always lose. In fps games you have aim assist (aimbot in some games), but in racing its basically impossible to implement such a thing without making it completely unfair. Gran turismo wants to be a simulator, but it will never be one as long as its easily playable with a controller. I think they might want to consider seperating controller and wheel players, but that would increase queue times a lot (for wheel player at least). It's very hard to balance the game for 2 completely different input devices, one of them will always be better no matter what you do.
Absolutely spot on. This update was tailor made for wheel setups. I also thought the same thing in regards to the controller/wheel mode only to realize how unlikely it would be viable to implement. @@ItzBrooksFTW
I think I figured something out . The higher the force feedback setting the more sloppy the cars become . I was running it at 9 . Couldn’t figure out why it would lose it when I brake. I read the update . They said they messed with the wheel settings . So now I’m at 3 for force feedback . Barley any steering feel but at least I dont lose it braking now . Hope this helps someone
@1:09:33 Sounds like with the new physics, maybe its worth the time to test out different force feed back settings on the wheel. Clearly getting back into it with the update there is an adjustment period. But from my exourience these types of updates are better transititioned with some adjustment to the setup. Its a pain, but it can help. @SuperGT
Hey super GT I had issues with feel on my dd pro and changed my settings to auto as they updated that with the gt7 update and then copied the auto settings on the set 1 profile changing the sensitivity to 660 and it feels really good to me

There's something weird going on with GT7. Turn one at trial mountain is basically like Russian roulette. One lap understeer city the next lap snap oversteer into the inside fence
When you brake, you don't always expect to turn even with ABS Default now. The front wheels will lock up. You guys need to adapt whenever the situations arises. You'll never survive if you don't.
Steve, your ETHERNET port on ps5 might be going bad. If the cable is just hanging off the back of the console, the solder joints themselves might be separating from the pcb since the weight of the cable is pushing them down.. That was my issue a year back when both ethernet and hdmi ports had that happen and I've had a few others sent to repair for me as well. But could just be game instability.
Don't feel too bad,Steve. Like you said, that's SIM racing. Some bad days and after you'll have good ones. Be glad you're not me. I just went from a PS4 to a 5 the day before the update. I'm on a controller so it's a BIG learning curve for me with the new controller and physics! lol
It's not understeer just because you have to slow down more to make the turn. The car is handling normally - you're just dealing with more realistic physics.
I know this is after the stream but you can't 100% brake in a real car and expect to turn. I feel they made the physics mimic what would happen in a real car and people don't understand that.
Hey I have a quick question how do you know which tires to use for what track I'm guessing the car plays into it too but I usually just go with racing soft on everything and I'm guessing that's not the way to attack it trying to learn
Im no professional but im about above average I would say, basically for qualifying laps you need to use racing soft because they are the fastest and grippiest, but if it is a long race like lago maguire (idk how to spell it xD) ten laps start with racing hards and see how far you can go, but then if your over 75 percent of the way done the race and you racing hards are worn down all the way (or close) then switch to mediums, but if its 50 percent of the way done go to mediums. If it is a endurance race like 1 hour to 24 or however long it is start on racing hards and stay on them until you are extremely close to the leader and you see him in the pits, when hes in the pits go on softs to catch him. BIG TIP: DONT PIT UNLESS YOU HAVE TOO!!! Some pit lanes, 24hrs le mans, have extremely long pit lanes, and you dont wanna waste 40 seconds and then lose a couple positions because you went in to the pits when you didnt have to. One last tip is basically if your on a 10 lap race and you have no fuel and you are on lap 8 only refuel enough for the last 3 laps AND a little bit more like 0.5 extra laps of fuel so that you can change your fuel map down to 1 instead of wherever you had it. Hope that helps, Ill try and answer questions if you need help.❤

It's really bad now for spinning the moment a wheel goes off track. I just got a G pro wheel & rig & trying to get into it more & do online racing but the spinning the moment any wheel touches the grass is annoying.
Bro you really got to try the Alpine A 110 modified to the gills man that car is so dope dude for a road car man I would own one in real life for sure that is one of my favorite cars I'm telling you dude modify it to the gills put everything you can into it do not do the engine swap that'll ruin it and then do some races with it you'll be really surprised that car is ridiculous

I hate the new physics. The cars just feell off, it is like they are top heavy if that makes sense. They don't want to turn anymore, seems like braking in anything other than a straight line turs into a spinout. I hope they change this soon because ugh this is so bad.
I feel somewhat vindicated watching this. I regularly run 800pp streetcars on the ring and really dislike how they feel. Softening dampers, raising ride height, reducing camber, nothing really changes.
I'm thinking 🤔 if someone could make gt7, into racing for real money like horse racing... prize money for 1,2,3. Can be all type's of racing... Its only a matter of time before someone else has the same idea...👍

dirty racing, just pushing other cars away (not only you, but you as well)... real GT7 style. iwish they make normal damage (at least to suspension) and better penalty system

Car didn't turn because you need ro learn car set UPS. Take stability control off...and put your traction control on 3 to start will. And put differential settings down to lowest setting that would be about 5 on all the settings..then after you Start getting used to the settings the you can set them. You are welcome.❤❤❤ 36:34
I think you're looking at this like it's a real car. Stability control is off, TC3 is way too high and you can't change differential in a BOP race. I just need to adapt to the new physics.

@@uur1482That's where you need to feather the braking. The wheels really locked up no matter what ABS settings you're using. You'll understeer.
The new physics overall feels like an improvment to me, and with all car sound improvment make everything about this update just great.

Trail braking is a thing. It's a bit harder now, but it's possible.
