@@FemboyKaiSaku Eh idk about that. At that point I feel like we're getting way too close to Assassin's Creed. I feel like the point of the Ghost is that it's supposed to be an influential, inspirational, and legendary figure to the people of Japan, kinda like how Zorro is for Hispanic people.

The new protagonist could potentially mean more ghost games
If they carried on with Jin they would have the problem of if you killed or saved his uncle. Suppose it could have started with you at his grave. So we never know if you killed him or old age or war did. Then you would have to find a way to incorporate Jin getting his powers in a natural way. Maybe he could have been hiding and retired and needs to remaster his skills.
Yeah, one of the problems with returning protags is you have to find some way to get them back to level 1, or the relative equivalent, and have it not come across as half assed.

All the people complaining about “Ugh, woman” need to log off and go outside. So many of the greatest games have a female protagonist: Metroid, Tomb Raider, Bayonetta, Control, RE3, Mirror’s Edge. Y’all just get swept up in weird culture stuff and flip out at something that’s been common in gaming because some unwashed dude with a camera told you to be upset. Grow up.
People weren't really complaining about the character being a woman per se, did you look at the VA at all? She's crazy as hell, hope her views of the world and agenda pushing mentallity don't affect the game, if that's not the case then yeah, people complaining just because the main character is a woman is really fragile lmao. I coulnd't care less if the game is still good.
Yeah there not set in a realistic world, a normal woman isn't going to be a samurai, or be physically able to do what they are going to depict, unless they make her a glass cannon and rely on stealth it's just yet another girl power move
Also go look into the actress who is behind it.... Gender neutral agenda activists

Ghost of yotei has the potential to be even better than ghost of tsushima, the story potential is endless,they could introduce a ghost clan jin made after ghost 1, and come across it in a main mission, and even meet a decendent of jin, male or female dont matter, they weild the blades of clan sakai, and a mych more refined ghost armour, the gamplay possibilities are amazing, they already introduced the gun and kasaregama, and they could learn from their mistakes with Ghost of tsushima and make the world activities and mission design less repetitive. Can't wait

I'm happy theyre making this a series with the ghost at the core. I don't like to constantly compare but honestly after playing the first game, it scratched that itch I've had since AC origins; I enjoyed Mirage but its obvious ubisoft higher ups no longer desire to release games that are driven by strong narratives, characters, or creative gameplay. I'm happy sucker punch has taken up that mantle so to speak. They've always been great at single player action adventure games, and In the far future I don't think this franchise will be limited by the borders of japan.
I don't think Hokkaido was part of Japan yet, so I wonder if there will be more Ainu influence?

@bdeoliln4379 ghost of yotei pretty much confirms that the franchise will be an anthology series like assassins creed. So we will end up getting different games based on different time periods, not just samurais and japan but maybe even vikings and diff war eras. Each installment will be titled "Ghost of ____" I'm Def interested too see what they do with this franchise forward, I loved ghost of tsushima and jins story but it definitely doesn't need to be continued and with this new game having a diff mc, a new map and a diff time period there is soooo much more the devs can do gameplay and story wise
Why is no one talking about the 'Flute' ?
I'm not convinced there will be a flute. Maybe they let you choose multiple instruments, but from the reveal trailer, Atsu appears to have a shamisen instead. I love the sound of this instrument.
I must admit that I disagree slightly regarding the faces in Ghost of Tsushima.
They're maybe not super high quality, but they are resembling their facial models a lot better and are more consistent across the game's cutscenes compared to even more recent games like Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Assassin's Creed Mirage.
Can't wait for the "hotspring"
Looking great so far. I hope her fighting style will make sense in the setting and with her story/character.
Also, I loved the dog companions in Tsushima, I'm glad they are bringing it back with (probably) more nuance to it!

I watched the trailer and it looks great and all, but please tell me they're not going to use the "Wild West"-sounding music in the game. There's just no reason to. The Wild West was at least 200+ years in the future at that point, and on another continent.

Due to the protagonist VA being an activist and all the other politics she's involved with, I'm really scared for the direction of the game including politics. I pray I am wrong about this and Sucker Punch doesn't allow DIY to touch their game.

The Ghost of Yotei, will be more of a shinobi than a samurai. After all, Jin is the predecessor of the shinobi in the Ghost universe. She is either his descendent or a member of his shinobi clan, hence adopting the title of Ghost, the mask and his teachings. By the way, shinobi is the earlier term for ninja.
shinobi isnt the earlier term for ninja, it's just the native word. Ninja comes from China. Jin is not the predecessor of the shinobi, either. This is not proven in GOT canon or even remotely hinted or stated, it is merely an inference made by fans trying to piece things together. Jin does not have a clan, either.
Jin is NOT a shinobi, he is the ghost.

Nah for me unless it's very different. The 1st one was horribly repetitive with the worst open world tropes. Very similar to Horizon zero Dawn in that sense.... but atleast the protagonist wasn't as insufferable as Aloy
But the combat was very addictive and satisfying, essentially on lethal difficulty, the story was beautifully written, tho basic, still was incredible, the visuals and art direction is superb, and the voice acting was amazing.

how is it not done? His story was becoming the ghost and saving tsushima. Now he is being hunted by the shogun and thats that.

Him coping with either Shimura's passing or Shimura dealing with the consequences of his inability to kill Jin, Jin having to actually fight his people, a new threat that has greater knowledge of his methods for example. I would like to see the Shogun that we always hear mentioned actually portrayed, I would like to hear more about Jin's mother, I would like to see how this new Mongol army and commander would deal with Jin now that he officially is an enemy of the state..
I also replayed the game many times and that one bit before Jin and Shimuea duel where Shimura asks Jin how he is sure his own followers will obey him always stuck with me, that could also be a very interesting angle to explore.
Basically I still believe there are a lot of places we could take Jin and the people closest to him that would lead to significant changes in his character, places that are hinted at and could very naturally be implemented given the past game, but that is all wishful thinking now.
