For those unfamiliar with the Rolex brand, the Daytona is the Crown’s resident chronograph, boasting a traditional tri-compax dial and a history dating to the 1960s. A fixed tachymeter bezel surrounds the dial, and pushers above and below the crown start, stop, and reset the chronograph movement. This design set has been a cornerstone of the brand’s portfolio for decades and is instantly recognizable worldwide.
Rolex debuted the 6-digit series around the turn of the new millennium. However, it wasn’t until 2008 that the brand added an Everose model to the collection. The rose gold alloy is exclusive to Rolex and is produced in-house using the finest metals available in watchmaking. The result is a lustrous precious metal finish that never dulls or fades and holds its value well alongside the price of gold.
Early iterations of the Everose Daytona were driven by the caliber 4130 Perpetual movement, the first Rolex chronograph produced and developed in-house.
Everything changed for the Daytona in 2023 when a brand-new 1265XX generation came to market. With this series, the caliber 4130 was discontinued and replaced with the caliber 4131. The current production movement is largely the same but features fewer components and has a lovely Rolex Côtes de Genève decoration that is, so far, only visible through the case back on the platinum model.
With the new generation, the bezels on ceramic models are now trimmed in metal to match the case. Rolex also made several noteworthy upgrades to the dial on every model, including slightly thinner hour markers and skinnier rings surrounding the chronograph registers. Even though the case remains the same size, these tweaks to the dial give it a larger and cleaner aesthetic.
The 40mm case is more refined and, overall, less rounded. At the same time, it keeps the same 40mm diameter, three-link Oyster bracelet, and 100-meter water resistance as its predecessors.
There are currently three different iterations of the Rolex Daytona ref. 126505:
-Black dial/sundust chronograph registers/Chromalight hour markers
-Sundust dial/black chronograph registers/Chromalight hour markers
-Black dial/sundust chronograph registers/diamond hour markers.
Additionally, this model is only produced in full Everose gold. Similar models with an Oysterflex bracelet and ceramic bezel go by a different reference number.
What is the Rolex 126505 Price?
As of 2024, the non-diamond dial ref. 126505 retails for $42,500, while the diamond dial ref. 126505 retails for $44,500. Both models command a higher premium on the secondary market, ranging between $55,00 and $62,000.

Love nkuwan the way you show it! You really focus on showing off the watch. I don't think any other UA-camr can show off watches in as much detail as you.
Back to back precious metal Rolex. This variation of the Daytona is beautiful. I love that the PM Daytona's have the full subdial colors as opposed to just the rings on the stainless steel variation. Absolutely stunning on the full bracelet. Maybe one day. Cheers to another great review, thank you!
Thanks for the kind feedback! Awesome callout about the sub-dials vs the sub-dial rings. Details!
Look at Miss Emily tossing out reference numbers left and right! Very impressive. I've mentioned before that I am not a chronograph fan, but I do like rose gold. I agree that that particular Daytona looks great on both of your wrists. Before I bought my GMT Coke bezel, I seriously considered a Day-Date in rose gold, the 118205 with the white Roman dial and smooth bezel. I'm wearing my GS Katana today, but with a modification. I put a cyclops lens over the date. Now these old eyes can see the date better, which isn't that big of a deal, but I also like the look.
A little update to your wrist check today, we love it! So glad to hear how much you enjoy the Everose metal from Rolex. This configuration on the Rolex Daytona was a fun mix-up to what we typically see (Stainless Steel).
Im wearing the 126500ln with the white dial, and so I of course love seeing a nice precious metal version on bracelet! Always cool to see. I really appreciate the amazing closeups with the high quality camera that y’all are shuffling in during the video- thats super important and a lot of channels fail at this, so great job there. Every time I see these new Daytonas in any of the configurations I just love them more and more.. Im expecting the call for a yellow gold/newman dial on oysterflex soon (allegedly sometime this year) .. HUGE upgrade of the oysterflex line is that they now have the glidelock clasp.. thats the issue I had with my 116519ln was that I just could not get the oysterflex to fit me perfectly .. was always a touch too loose or a touch too snug regardless of easy link and micro adjustment availability.. glidelock will of course solve that issue..
But back on topic Daytona related, I know you mentioned in here that they didn’t change the size which they didn’t (for the rose gold, white gold, and platinum) however, for stainless steel, two tone, and yellow gold (on bracelet only) they did change the case size, and now its a true 40mm! Im sure y’all knew that but just wanted to share that bit of info in case y’all didn’t know!! So in other words, the rose one y’all showed here was a true 40mm in its previous reference form, and it still is now.. but the stainless steel, two tone, and yellow on bracelet were 38.4mm in their previous form incorrectly advertised as 40mm and now they are the true 40mm… sooo necessary of an improvement
Great vid though keep them coming, I love seeing the modern stuff !
Can't thank you enough for the thoughtful note here! We love your take on the upgrade to the Oysterflex (Glidelock). Let us know when you get it and how it wears compared to your 116519.
Emily is rockin' the reference numbers! Well done. Amazing Daytona!
💖
I have the rose gold with the chocolate dial and black subdials. It is stunning and the chocolate dial warms up the rose gold even more.
What a great watch! Truly beautiful.
At nkuwan it's not just a watch; it's an art piece. Each design is crafted with unique inspiration and craftsmanship.
The exquisite production process reveals not just a watch, but a fashionable feast for the senses.
Always keep the white tag! It’s actually valuable. I’m wearing my Tag Heuer Aquaracer
We love seeing the range of tags based on the watches that come in from across the globe! Truly a time capsule of items, if not now, sometime in the not-to-distant future. Awesome wrist check today too!
Man, I've also loved the Daytona but that rose gold just takes it over the top!
Yes!
That Cellini is beautiful 😍 didn’t even know something like that existed!
Yes! The last model of the Cellini line before being discontinued.
Wearing my Omega Aqua Terra 8500 that I got in 2011.
Wonderful wrist check today! Thank you for watching and sharing 🙂
Love the Daytona Everose. I know it is unisex but think this is a great watch on a women. A great alternative for those where the Daytona is out of reach is the Tudor Black Bay Chrono. I think the gold and black version with the black textile band is on my short list for next purchase. Love the videos!
So glad you enjoyed this week's video. And props for the call-out of it wearing well on a woman's wrist. Truly a beautiful, modern watch for any wrist!
Beautiful!❤️
Incredibly so 😍
Not a Daytona or Rose gold fan so 2 strikes today. I’ll stick with my 226570 Polar. Don’t need the chronograph.
Your wrist check is AWESOME!
Beautiful watch but Shouldn’t all full gold Rolex watches come with larger box ? I guess
Even lovelier in person! As for the box, this is the exact box it comes in. Rolex does have different boxes based on the model.
Nice watch, I wish Rolex had a few more design options
This exact model offers quite a bit of variation on the dial!
Masha Allah brilliant
Still has the stickers, so more than likely they got it from an AD who sold it out the back door, now you know why you can’t buy one at retail. Chicago=CD Peacock? Dealers are supposed to remove the stickers, can you elaborate how/where you got this?
Incorrect assumption here. We deal only with the public, no ADs. Also, although they're "supposed" to remove them, many don't based on the purchaser's request. Now you know!
@bobswatches Isn't it possible that it's a "public" individual who purchased it from any of a number of possible sources (since we kinda' live in a 'gray market' world these days)?
Agreed something is not right here. Bobs doing Shady business with AD. All ADs must remove stickers per Rolex agreement with inventory sticker proof.
yellow gold looks nicer
You're not alone with this perspective!
@@bobswatches i think few years ago, pink gold use to be the go to gold?
Fresh off the truck my foot! The packaging was not support the watch.
How are people not getting black listed.....I'm starting to lose my faith with the ADs.....I know ill never get mine now....
Hold out hope! If you need, we're always here if waiting gets too long.
Straight from the AD to the flippers. Meanwhile, a gentlemen who wanted one to wear it as is should can't get one because they're all in the scalpers/gray dealers hands.
Wear White gloves
Thanks for the suggestion
*this is not a personal watch and *I know neither is yours**** lol? Why would you embarrass the man like that?
That was nasty.
No ill intentions with the note, it was simply a callout to knowledge that it was one from our website today vs personal 🙂 He has the white dial one as mentioned.
When it comes to fine imitation watches, nkuwan delivers. I've bought from them several times, and I've never been let down.
