- When Jasem Al Zeraei started Patekaholic, he simply wanted to share his deep passion for a watch brand that has an almost mythical status amongst collectors, Patek Philippe. He soon became the most high profile advocate for Patek on Instagram, acquiring a massive following in the process. You could say he was one of the OG watch influencers and his content had the power to shift secondary market values. In the end, it is the friendships he has acquired along the way that he values the most. In a wide-ranging conversation, Jasem shares his thoughts with Wei on the power of social media to influence taste, why he has started to buy Rolex and the state of watch collecting today. It's time to make watch collecting great again!

Very close friend… “what’s his name?” 😂
Such a great interview! Watched this right after a recent celebrity hodinkee interview and it was like night and day. In between all the hype, new releases, and marketing Revolution and Watchbox are bringing some of the best watch content today. Thank you!
Thank you sir
I think its really cool how he talked about going from the watches on the steering wheel pictures to getting what he really loves its shows how with time you find your own style and feel comfortable doing what YOU love.
I very much enjoyed my years in Kuwait and especially so due to educated people with class like Mr Jasem! الكويت 🇰🇼
“…lost my status” - Shocking when you leak new watches and run-out lists 😂
Every time I see or read something by Wei, I like him more and more. Expressive, genuine, articulate, and with an incredible eye for art. Thanks for sharing this interview with us.
I like this guy. Very sympathic and in way humble thought’s. I didn’t know him . how should i? I just wear Rolexes. Patek’s
Was never my style . Didn’t know him. But how he said , taste can change. Very interesting interview, thank you for entertainment.
Please more of him, love the guy
Thoroughly enjoyed this chat. Jasem comes across incredibly well and seems like a really easy guy to get along with
As a Patek admirer myself, I find this interview fascinating.
These are the best interviews. True passion.
Awsome conversation. Thanks a lot to be that open anout social media. You don't really hear stuff like that from other collectors on this kind of level. I mean, I can't imagine that a lot of "Influencers" would be that honest 🙏
Fantastic interview!!! Thank you very much…👍👍👍
This fellow is an absolutely legend! Shukran Jasem :)
Patek is king!!!
@@Greggieboy76 Ello geeeeezer 😎 Good to see you around here
Great discussion and interesting views. I own a Daytona 116509 and its a great watch in every respect - the quality etc is simply magnificent. I also own some VC watches and I think the Gold Daytona is a good match for them. How many gold Daytona's compared to SS models.
Amazing that Patekaholic now feels more love for/from Rolex, didn't see that coming.
You are both guys so incredible
Hello from France 🇫🇷 saint tropez 😊
That piano music always makes me happy
It’s no coincidence that he was the first one to post about the discontinuation of the 5711 because the staff at the Patek Philippe boutique likes to talk a lot about all things Patek!
Excellent interview. Interesting and informative great job Wei👍Just looked up Baltic watches. Very nice brand for the price🤔
Class content! Max respect!
Very nice interview. Nice daytona also.
Respect!
Wow❤ I just finished a hard yoga retreat and discussed Ruiz Just now , and hear I see you on the same page
The Baltic with the Eastern Arabic numerals is fantastic!
عاااش بو خلوود
I made a call and the guys have been nice 😂
cool dude
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤❤❤❤
Patekaholic is now Rolexaholic
Very honest genuine humble human being. Thank you Jasem , and thanks Wei . Finally you sre hosting very straight forward gentleman with unique true personality.
Nizar
Humble lmao
"I met one of my very close friends now. Ummm. Ummm. What's his name?...." What is it with that friends-dropping? You can't have more than 5,6,7 real friends. Dunbar’s Number.
مقابله حلوه اخويه جاسم ..
What about of the fake unicorn Daytona of the encyclopedia guy? 😂
Jasem is the guy who made Tiffany dials famous as he has quite a few of them. I think all it's dumb, You cannot tell me Tiffany who sells 10 dollar item as well is more valuable as a brand than Patek. The nautilus specifically is the least interesting line up within the brand. I feel like alot of influencers are out there to enrich themselves.
Which chocolate dial Omega Speedmaster?
I was wondering this as well. He mentions rubies on the bezel or something doesn’t he? I have no idea what Speedy he is referring to. Only thing I can think of is the current Moonphase in platinum.
Its the new gem set speedmasters sold to vip clients.
22:14 maybe Jasem will change his handle to Rolexaholic now that Patek has pulled his status?
What does this guy do for a living?!
he used to be an investment banker
So he finally realizes that the overly passionate loyal brand worshipper game isn't enough to get direct access to Patek? In reality, Patek don't need guys like him - the merely rich - they target true high-net-worth individuals. Patek were just playing along and now that things are too convenient for them they no longer need to please the Instagram fanboy blogger with less than half a million followers. Patekaholic is too insignificant to be worth consideration from Patek and it PAINS him. He is not even wearing a Patek in this interview LOL.
You've written that from your mother's basement while you were admiring your Casio f91 collection?
honestly, I don't feel his passion for watches. like he said, he was in it for the hype, and the gram. The watches he has on his instagram, he doesn't bother to fix the dates, pretty sure he has little interest with the other complications. Judging by the fact he just wears Daytona's, a simple wear and it and forget it attitude, he probably doesn't turn his watches around to look at their movements either. The Rolex is the world's most popular luxury watch brand. As a watch lover, I respect that, but Rolex is one of the last brands I'd expect to find passion in watch making.
So you are telling me that I can get my hands on the Speedmaster Moonwatch and this big guy can't? This made no sense at all even the interviewer was puzzled.
He is referring to the MoonSwatch not the MoonWatch
Why does the Middle East like gem set watches so much? Even the gem pateks are garish and lack any refinement or taste. Similar to wearing Ed Hardy back in the day.
Says who? If anything, the Middle East mostly hates gems.
