And don't forget to pop over to IG and our private FB group (linked in the video description), where we'll continue the discussion! xo - Lisa
thanks so much
Downshiftology i just watched your video 12 healthy habits, great video. I must ask where do you buy your PJs I love them! 😍
Hey Lisa! Thanks for the awesome inspiring video! Could you tell me what that unit is in your bedroom on your nightstand? The thing that lit up to a bright light. Is it a light alarm clock? Very intrigued!
Thanks 🤩 I need this in my life
Nice beach!
Another useful tip: Start your day with a simple planned task which can be completed with ease. This will jumpstart your activity level and will pave the way for a productive day. If you start your work day with staring at social media, watching clips etc, the day becomes wasted...
Took a screenshot of your comment, thanks 😊
@@wendyk3914 You're welcome ! :)
This is so true ❤️❤️❤️ do you have any inspiration. My life goes down the drain every day because of this. Also because I've been bed rest for many years due to pain . I need a KICKSTARTER
I'm watching this right now convincing myself it's important

Thank you for such good information look forward to seeing more of your channel
Nice summation. Thanks!
YOU ARE SUCH A CLASSY WOMAN... SO FRESH, CRISP, CLEAN, METICULOUS, SOPHISTICATED, AND OF COURSE BEAUTIFUL...
SO NICE TO SEE A PHENOMENAL EXAMPLE OF A GENUINE WOMAN.... MUCH RESPECT AND APPRECIATION FOR YOU... 😊
Exactly what I wanted to say :)

Facts!
I was diagnosed with celiac disease a year and half ago and it totally opened my eyes to the approach of healthy living. Your tips and videos have been a big part of that as well. Here's to another healthy year!
Of all the content I've come across since getting on social media, this is by far the most substantive. Thanks for the great tips & tricks!
I can't express how much your videos have helped me. I feel like I'm slightly more in control of my life every day. I've been meal prepping and not only do I feel healthier, I have saved a TON of money. Here in South Africa the majority of the ingredients in your meal prep videos are pretty much always in season and so affordable. The chicken/roast veg/rice meal prep video costs me R270 for a week, so around 17 dollars US for an entire week! Thank you so much.
Omg Lisa you are amazing!! My stress levels have significantly decreased just by watching your videos!!!! So grateful to have found your channel!!!!
The clarity yet simple effort you put in your videos. I absolutely love them! Seriously, my favorites. I watch you daily now! So glad I found this & subscribed!
Fantastic video, Lisa! So well thought out and put together! ❤️
Eating any food at any time was such a revelation to me. I still struggle with it sometimes and feel vaguely guilty about eating leftovers for breakfast but I’m slowly getting over it.
Leftovers for breakfast is never a bad idea 😊
I found Italian people don’t have breakfast, they generally have cake and coffee or left overs. It was a revelation when we went there.
This immediately (after listening to you for a second) is already amazing...
You’re so well spoke and comforting to listen to! ❤️
That rollerblading shot was worth it 😉❤️
Hahah thanks Marie! 😊Rollerblading seriously is such a great workout to do outside too!
Thank you so much Lisa, it makes me feel good to hear you and I pray for your health, love from Turkey..
Thanks so much 😊
I love your videos. You're so positive and it feels so genuine when you speak that I actually want to hear what you have to say. It's sets you apart from other channels where I feel they just go through the motions of making a video that is going to get views.
Thank you for the healthy reminders.. love your channel.. I’ve shared this with my sisters already ! Blessing to you !
Thank you so much for your work! After watching your videos I got inspired to put my life together and now I'm quitting smoking, planning things ahead, developing healthy habits and cooking hummus from your recipe twice a week 😀
This is my dream, to craft my life in a way that brings inspiration and joy to others. Kudos and much joy to you for doing this.
Thanks so much for your sweet words Lisa 😊Just know you can do it too!

I’ve been binge watching your videos almost everyday when I wait for a new video 🥺
Haha, well I'm happy to give you something new to watch this morning. ;) I hope you enjoy it!
Love your channel ,very inspiring !It's really nice to hear Ideas and tips that can make me feel more healthy and energetic!! Can't wait for your next video.
This a great video for New Years Eve. I've started using a lot of your recipes in 2021. Just love everything here and can't wait until your cookbook comes out. Happy New Year, Lisa!
Golden words - " Doing them Thats the key "
Hey Lisa,
There are so many tips I did not think of. It is very nice to put the good words into the real solutions of human wellness. Thank you very much.
I would simply add that having a pet or surrounding ourselves with indoor/outdoor plants can genuinely benefit our mental health.
I changed many things in my life a few years ago, but at times my enthusiasm wanes. Your channel is giving me a much-needed boost. Thank you.
THANK YOU!!!! For all twelve. I hope to implement more of your preps, recipes and meal ideas this year. It's hard when you're the only one in the family that sees the benefits!
I hope you can start incorporating these as well! 😊
Yay! I’m so happy you made this video!
Thanks so much! I hope you enjoy it and all the tips. :) x
Love this video, along with your others. I have found, as many have realized during COVID lockdown, that truly the healthiest thing you can do for yourself is stay connected to other people. It is not what you do in life, or how you do it. It is with whom.
Good for you. I have been implementing a few components into my life with regard to well-being. I, for one, have rather toxic sleep habits. That will be my mountain to conquer for 2020. Thank you for the inspiration and your sharing.
Pushed like before watching the video 😅Love this! You are an inspiration to us all❤️
Watching on my phone eating a bag of crisps.... Well okay then.... always tomorrow.... ❤

Every single point mentioned in this video is so meaningful! Absolutely loved this video!
Spot on!!! Especially that last one!!
Great video and kind reminder. 🖤

Simple and true ways to live better. I love your videos, Lisa!
UA-cam is great for recommending your videos to me all the time.
Love this channel going to plan out my meals now
Welcome to the Downshiftology community Alberto 😊Be sure to also take a peek at my meal prep videos for more inspiration!
This was a great video and special reminder that we have to do our part in keeping good health. I too have an immune challenge along with cancer. I now do healthy keto and my numbers have maintained for over 4 years. Thank you for what you do. Love your food prep vids.
Thanks so much for following along to Downshiftology and I'm glad you've developed healthy habits already 😊I hope these additional tips help, especially going into the new year!
You are in such a peace... Love your living style 💕💕💕❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘😘 Love yoga, méditation and go out of à toxic relations
Thank you so much for these tips, Lisa! As you say, knowing them is one thing, but they really do make a difference over time, and it truly is the 'simple things' that matter, and have the most impact on us. One can always do with a reminder to be be kind and mindful towards oneself. Thank you so much, and I wish you health, joy, and happiness!
I just found your channel and I am absolutely OBSESSED. Thank you! 😊💕
Same! So much inspiration for my new channel!
These are all such practical but great tips and ideas. Love this, thank you 😊
Thanks so much Maggie 😊
I've been a subscriber for a bit now.. Having a inflammatory disease myself, I've found your approach calming & helpful on my own journey. The water in the AM is especially important as it flushes the added pain & swelling gained during sleep. Keep up the good work!❤😀
In 2004 I was diagnosed with celiac. And you are right it does, well at least for me, set you on the course for wellness. I remember reading something it could have been by Louise Hay, that stated "sickness prepares you for health." It is not an easy journey, but with my own research and wonderful videos like yours it makes it a bit easier! Thanks!
You are extremely knowledgeable about health and wellness.Thank you SO much for sharing!💖
Thanks Shanna 😊
I love everything in your videos. Thank you & may God bless!
Thanks so much 😊
Your channel is amazing! Love these healthy habits! Thank you for sharing.
Love this type of video! More tips for us!! 🥰
I LOVE LOVE your channel and lifestyle!
I so love your stuff it has changed my life so far. I have had MS for a long time. I’ve been in and out of remission. My last appointment, with the neurologist, I found out I also have Lupus now.
So, finding your website, UA-cam etc. Has truly changed my life. I’ve started following your “anti-inflammatory” preps etc. It’s been about 2 weeks now, and I am no longer in Lupus flare. I am so thankful.
Thank you!
pastorgg1 Hello! Have you continued eating anti inflammatory meals? If so, has it helped with Lupus and Ms?
I love your videos. I was looking for new ideas for this new year to put my health first. I have to make changes for sure. Please do more videos like this. Thank you ❤❤❤
I'm so glad you enjoyed these ideas Cleo 😊Can't wait for you to incorporate these habits into your daily life now!
What an amazing video! I adore your content and the simplicity of each video, really blessed to have you here 🙏🏻
Thanks so much Petra 😊
Thank you for these tips. I'm entering my 50s and they say better late than never when it comes to lifestyle changes. You have inspired me and I am ready to downshift!
This is one of my favorite videos. Thanks a lot.
So glad to hear that Maidie 😊
Great tips Lisa! Please keep bringing us this kind videos 🌟 Love it!
Thanks Annie! 😊I definitely will do for the new year!
Thank you for the reminders.
Thank you so much Lisa, great video 🙏🏽💕
You are such an inspiration!
Thank you for sharing.
Happy New Year.
Thanks for following along and I hope you start to include these tips and habits into your daily life 😊
@@Downshiftology Sure. I will. Like you said, they are mostly not new so I already do for a number of them. With struggle and failure. So hearing them from someone admirable, someone as inspiring, is inspiration in itself to keep going.
One thing I've started doing recently is growing a variety of herbs and using them for making teas - either iced or hot. They taste so much better then the store bought tea bags. Lemon Balm and Peppermint are my current favorites, Herbs are a powerhouse of nutrition and some of the easiest plants to grow in pots either inside or on a porch.
I loved the video. Thank you, Lisa, for all the tips. 💚🍀🌻
So glad to hear that Geena 😊
Just found this channel and have just started my health journey. And now I have been here watching like 6 videos and just love your content 🥰 So now you got a new subscriber 💕
Welcome to the Downshiftology community Kristi 😊Hope you enjoy all my recipes!
Lisa, thank you so much for your amazing tuition, you are a real great motivator. You have really inspired me to get all the more organised within the kitchen, plan, plan ,plan and exercising too. You have lots of delicious recipe ideas, it's almost taken the thought process out of planning. Many thanks, big hugs & lots of love xx
I'm so glad I can play a positive role when it comes to your lifestyle and healthy eating 😊
Such wisdom from one so young! Keep up the great work Lisa. Your ideas are solid! As I age (now 60), I'm noticing limitations that were not even on the radar. Learning to pace, value the things that really matter & 2 big things. 1. Slow down & don't worry about tomorrow, it will take care of itself. 2. Chew more per mouthful. Thank you for Downshiftology.
Thanks so much Penny 😊 And thanks for sharing your healthy habits as well! Definitely ones I need to incorporate into my life.
Sharing is caring, love all of your vids! Keep going. Thx
Such important information 🙏🏾 I wish doctors and all nutritionists talk about these lifestyle changes
I love your content and also love how fast your Chanel has grown.
Thanks so much Dorcas! I know you've been in the community for quite a while and I sincerely appreciate it. ❤️
@@Downshiftology thats so amazing that you remember this person!😭💗
Dear Lisa:
You make food look so tasty.
Thank you for the share.
🍜 Ben
We would like more videos about everyday life, handling stress etc. Thanks for the video!
Loved this video. The content was a great reminder 👍🏼
I love the idea of eating any food any time of the day. I am constantly telling my husband that but he doesn't like it because it's not 'traditional'. I also love keeping the healthier things visible and am also constantly trying to manage my stress, stay active and everything else on your list. Love it! Thank you so much for sharing!
I'm so glad to hear you've already started to incorporate so many of these habits into your daily routine 😊
Thank you so much, love it!,
Enjoy the tips and let's conquer 2020 together! 😊
I love your tips! I also have several medical conditions including auto immune diseases.
Even though I have ulcerative colitis, I never felt like fairy or wheat bothered me. After doing an elimination diet as a patient at Clevland Clinic Functional Medicine Dept, I found I didn’t feel well after reintroducing dairy, what and corn. I also limit my carbs to reduce inflammation. It helps so much that my gastroenterologist has taken me off toxic immune suppressants.
Mediation and exercise both help alter gene expression for disease. It’s also a great tool for so many things. It’s easier to handle bad days by staying the ever present now, something my brain is now trained to do.
Even if all I can do in a day is feed myself healthfully, it helps my healthy improve over time.
It’s nice to see another Weck jar fan!!! I love your channel.
Thank you!! I need to start eating more healthy. You’ve helped me a lot. God bless you.
What a great video Lisa 👏🏻. I couldn't stop watching it 😀. Where did you buy that adjustable computer desk?
Thanks Natasha! 🤗 That's from UpLift desk. I love it!!
Lol. Good thing I found this in the comments. I was about to ask the same question.
Downshiftology looks like some of us had the same question about your desk. We are loving your videos and thank you so much for your smart and practical advice
Hi Natasha! Love your recipes!!
@@Downshiftology wow - love this channel so much
Love it! I slept in today and the sleep bit made me not feel so guilty! Lol
Don't ever feel guilty for sleeping in, especially on a Sunday! 😊
LOVE following you on instagram too! You are so uplifting and positive. I'm grateful for what you do.
Thanks so much Danielle 😊
ABSOLUTELY
DECOMPRESS THE PRESSURE

TUNE IN AND LISTEN TO LISA 👏👍
I love your tips and your videos un general! Your Home looks so organized, can you do a house tour anytime soon please?💌
You can actually find my living room and bedroom tour videos on my UA-cam Channel 😊
Thank you for this. Yes I get it. I have Ibs, so I'm slowly trying to figure out my triggers. So far I know onion, dairy and wheat are a trigger. Still learning what else is my trigger.
You've got this! :)
Love, love, your channel! I recently developed psoriasis which has been a hard pill to swallow! Even though I’ve been interested in health all my life, I’ve gone on a strict diet and started a gluten-free and sugar free plan. I came across your channel and am so excited! I will be making the lemon salad dressing tonight. I threw out my salad dressing full of sugar and emulsifiers. Cant wait!
I admire you so much! You have such a sophisticated demeanor about you! Thank you for all the videos you post here, they are all so helpful, especially to a busy medical student! :)
You are so sweet! I'm happy to hear my videos are helpful for you and I hope you're able to incorporate these tips and recipes into your weekly routine 😊
Outstanding! I lived in Asia over 12 years and you’re right,, People outside of the U. S. Don’t eat special food exclusively for each meal. Food is food anytime of the day.
Yes! This is definitely apparent in asian culture, and I think we should adopt some of those habits into ours 😊
I also think positive attitude plays a part too and you definitely have that in abundance! Another great and informative video! 💕 ❤️
Yes, I couldn't agree more! Positive attitude and gratitude are profoundly impactful. If I included more tips that would have definitely been on it. :)
Positivity in life is absolutely essential!
You have been so helpful with my Sjogren syndrome , all of your tips really help me. So much I can't eat but all your recipes are 🥰 thank you so much
Just learned I have changed so much, I can do some things, cannot do others. Used to heap new things...now I have to eliminate things, habits, people...you name it. Your videos are so in-portant. Namaste
So glad to hear that 😊 It's time for a fresh start!
Love your tips and your site. Here are perhaps 3 more healthy tips:
13. Avoid eating and drinking anything with added sugars, especially fructose. Any drinks with lots of sugar in them should be avoided. Drinks with fake sweets are also at least just as bad. Fructose provided with fiber in fruits, especially berries, in moderation is much better than the corn syrup variety.
14. Skip breakfast altogether, or put it off until later. I was a big breakfast eater as soon as I got up. I pushed if off until later and then skipped it altogether. Now, I don't loose any energy and I feel better and more vigorized. I'd still drink the water and/or apple cidar vinegar, though, when getting up. Our bodies were designed to go through periods of eating and noneating. If you are going to eat breakfast, your tip for a colorful one away from simple carbs is spot on. Chia can be your friend.
15. Avoid snacking during the day. If you choose to snack your video is spot on for healthy choices. The main way to avoid insulin resistance is to lower it between meals and a longer period of not eating overnight is even better. Find out about autophagy.
Just as Lisa said, one size does not fit all. Perhaps the biggest health issue facing most Americans is Type 2 diabetes and the associated metabolic syndrome and heart issues which is ultimately caused by what we eat (too many sugars) and how often we put it into our bodies.
All of your tips are spot on for a healthier year and a longer, healthier life. Chocolate is definitely a downfall of mine, too. I have easily gotten used to about 85% Cacao. Lisa, thank you for your tips and insights.
Thanks for sharing 😊
Loose vs lose.
We’ve all returned back into bad habits leading up to Christmas. Hence we’ve had to take drastic action to get back control. Cleaned out the fridge/pantry of stuff and refilled it with healthier things. Decided to do two yoga poses every night before bed (I’ve been good but could do better!). Going back to swimming several times a week and return to routine. It’s funny how routine actually helps to get things back on track! This year I’m going to try to meal prep a bit more.
So glad to hear you're getting back on track this month! 😊
I am so happy I found your page! I am 52 and have been a active person all my life. Back in late July I woke with my hands so swollen I couldn’t make a fist. I thought this was brought on by a hard CrossFit workout but the symptoms only grew worse and worse....traveling to my wrists, arms, shoulders, biceps and now my right knee. Long story short...my RA number is at 64...this isn’t good. They believe I have an autoimmune disease. I have been tested for Lymes twice, both negative. Your videos are helping me to analyze my food choices as well as a way to try and get my life back without the debilitating pain and inflammation. I haven’t watched all your videos yet but I’m working on it! Thank you for the great information!
Thank you this video!!💕 I am doing some of these but need to do better. I am a breastcancer survivor., 7 yrs. I am so encouraged! Just the motivation I needed.💕
So glad to hear this will give you a boost in encouragement 😊
the quote that really stuck with me is "at the end of the day, it's about helping yourself to make healthy choices". Maybe it's just me but sometimes I lose myself in the mindset of eating healthy, this really reminded me that I'm helping myself, not someone else! thank you!
I love this quote too! Healthy eating and living is all about setting yourself up for success so that it's not a willpower struggle everyday. And it's got to be personalized and fit into your lifestyle! :)
You are so smart and beautiful, my friend! Great tips. I loved the breakfast one especially. That’s how I grew up in Ukraine. We often ate borscht for breakfast.:)
My Indonesian mother-in-law always cooks fish or chicken with tempe, veggies and rice for breakfast. At first it felt weird to eat "dinner" for breakfast but now I'm used to it and often cook the same way. I feel much better too, since it really gives me a healthy boost for the day rather than just eating a bowl of sugary cereal. Thanks for the video!
Great recommendations! Thank you 😊
I'm so glad to see number 2! My son just walked thru the room wanting cereal for dinner. He hasn't had cereal in couple months.
Hi Lisa! What is the light on your nightstand? Is it an alarm clock that wakes you with light? Id love to know where its from :) Thanks!
Wow!this is the best information everyone needs to hear wonder why it’s not taught at school.thankyou soo much .love from Uganda 🇺🇬
always fantastic content. your videos have such a calm and soothing vibe
nice
Wow, you are really encouraging me in a good way! I eat healthily but the same thing all the time, chicken veggies soup, quinoa with beets, oatmeal with plain yogurt and fruit. Made my second smoothie thanks to you, Lisa. Works so much better when you know what you are doing. I love your calm, peaceful, healthy and cheerful, encouraging voice. Actually being transparent/congruent and incorporating diet with exercise, sleep, stress management and mother nature! x0
How are you feeling, just checking up on you
Thx very much for your recommendation. Every time I learn things !
