Hair oil completely changed my hair health. I used to be afraid of oil as well. Best change I ever made
That's awesome Angela! Yeah oil needs a better PR agent 😂
Do you apply to your ends after it’s dry?
So agree ❤
@@laurenwoods5496 I saw one of his videos today that said when you first use hair oil, apply it when hair is dry. Easier to see how much you are applying. Once you know how much to use, it can be used when wet or dry.
Agree 100 percent...its magic for urb ends..
Bought my 83 year old mum hair oil and taught her your advice. Her gray frizzy hair has grown a bit and has never looked so good. Love your channel!
that's really sweet:)
I love your videos! Can you kindly make a video on a natural curly hair routine?!!!
All the curly hair routines require a ton of products and that's why I can't restrict to the trinity you always mention
I was looking up hair oils and trying to choose between the two products you recommended in the video :) now that I've watched it I think I know which will be the better choice for me
Your video was much help keep your advice coming
OMG i started using this after your video and its a life changer or hair changer lol its brilliant
This information is true. We have got away from oil but I hear the hair popping off from dryness. It's time to go backwards and revamp oil treatments again.
I apply oil to my ends every day before brushing my hair…I let it sit for a few minutes..brush and my hair looks great…I use Moroccan oil light hair oil…the original makes it oily can only use it on wet hair…I use the olaplex after wash.
So we indians are right on using hair oil since time immemorial?!
No. You guys add it at the roots just to wash it off later and the root already has oils. It doesn't promote hair growth either. It can clog your pores and have the adverse effect, but most indians are blessed with great hair genetics. We're talking about adding it to ends to seal it and keep in moisture and hydration.
@@plamoretti673 depends on the oils.
Some oils really help with itchy scalps and even gets rid of dead skins pretty good. Not all oils do the same thing
@@plamoretti673 Can confirm. We have great hair genetics. My family never did the oil thing.
Some people wear the hair of our virgins your know. Also, traditionally the hair oil isn’t washed out fully as soapnuts were used as shampoo. Shampoo being an Indian word. We have a very old history with hair care perfection.
@@plamoretti673 No, we do not just use at the roots, we do apply it till the ends of our hair, after massaging.
So I made my own blend of 100% pure, organic oils, mostly jojoba, probably 3/4, about 1/4 argan oil, and a teeny bit of castor oil. My hair is medium, but my ends get extremely dry and coarse and snap off! You might've seen me comment a few times now that I just recently caved and bought redken shampoo and conditioner, as well as moroccan oil leave in conditioner (I just noticed the other day that shop has pureology too!) and my hair has changed overnight, just like you said it would. Crazy that you might know something about hair! 😂 I'm raving about it because this is the information I've been waiting for, none of this "these supermarket products are just as good" bs, you know your stuff, and cut straight to the chase. "This is how it is if you want beautiful hair". Thank you for being so blunt (excuse the pun)
Before switching to the redken, and using a proper leave in, the oil wasn't enough to save my hair, and now I fully understand why. So after I wash and all that, I apply 2 small pumps of my oil blend, starting right at the ends, working my way up to my ears, then every other night until I wash again I just put in one small pump. Day 3 hair has NEVER been so nice before! Normally I'd be an itchy, greasy mess by now, but I can totally see myself going at least another couple of days!
is it bad to put oil on my hair every day? (even if it's a small amount)
@@michaelawight nope, I know for me, my hair drinks it right up, so I apply just a wee bit every night before tying it up in a satin scrunchie and going to bed.
Do you apply oil to your hair while wet before blow drying, or after it’s dry every day?
@@laurenwoods5496 after it's dry, after styling. Then I reapply a wee bit every night before bed, but you could do that every morning instead.
What do you think about moroccan oil? Is it so different than your blend? I was looking at the ingredients and thinking it’s very basic oil blend and some silicones..
Hi Chris. I'm a lucky new subscriber to have found you. I've been watching your videos for 5days continuous. Just a quick question on hair oils. BTW I have African relaxed hair. I hope your processes work on my hair just perfect. Is it advisable to put oil in the scalp?
thank you Chris for sharing your knowledge. I have fine hair so at first I was like what? hair oil? no way!! but with your hair trinity system - my hair isn't as greasy as it used to get by day 3 - even with using hair oil on my ends. I've been doing the trinity for about 3 weeks now and it's totally changed my hair health. I'm going to start investing in the larger bottles of shampoo.
How often do you oil ur ends? after shower or everyday?
@@dajanakola my hair is very thin so only after the shower to lock in moisture.
Do you apply the hair oil right after the leave in conditioner?
@@FangirlMimi-io9vdyes I do, also a little bit every day
Hi! I love your channel!! Since I’ve started following you my hair looks so much better. I have some Argan oil at home, can I you use it or I should buy the olaplex oil?
Hey Chris, love your videos! I've been using har serums for my ends onto damp hair after showering, can I get away without using oil?
As a moroccan my I used to usr it and my hair was just amazing ❤
Really didnt want to front the $30 the Olaplex 7 is- but the oil is great. My hair looks great and hasn't turned flat after applying. Thanks so much! Your channel is one of my favorites on YT ❤
Using organic argan oil it's make a big difference, where scared for oil before but its a most 🤗
What are you thoughts about jojoba and squalane oils for fine hair? Thank you!
My blow dry and wash day happens at night. Can I put oil the next morning or is it best to put it on at night in my routine? Thank you so so much Chris & Leslie!
The Macadamia drops helped my hair as prewash mask oil. I dont use them now and tried ogx miracle oil it is nice too
Blowdry professor, what are your comments for using Loreal Mythic oil? Do you recommend it or just your favourites are olaplex and morrocan oil?
How often should I be using hair oil? I use it on damp hair right before heat styling and then again when my hair is dried after styling. Should I be applying hair oil on my ends every day? For reference, I have pretty thick hair that's on the dry side, scalp is pretty balanced but more on the dry side. Ends tend to be the driest.
Cool, good vid
What is the difference between hair oil hair serum and leave in conditioner and what are better for your hair
Hi! I love your videos, I have a question is joba hair oil good to use on ends of hair?
Thank you for the tips. Do you use hair oil before or after heat styling?
For my post menopausal hair...
Before every wash a full head of oil.
Mct coconut oil.
Hi sir Chris What we use oil for hair?
I'm 58 years old and I have a pixie cut that I color every 6 weeks or so. None of my hair is longer than 2"
And the back is only 1/2" at most. I don't grow my hair long enough to sustain damage. Is there any point in using oil on a pixie?
What's your thoughts on the biosilk hair oil?
What do you think of pure Argan oil or pure jojoba for hair? I know professional products have ingredients that make those oils work better but I have a bottle of Argan laying around and I’d hate to waste it lol.
hey is olive oil good for hair?
What is your opinion on Sally’s Beauty “One N Only Argan Oil Treatment”?
It’s supposed to be a dupe for Morrocanoil treatment.
Also, I don’t know which oil to purchase. My hair is fine yet the texture is very frizzy/coarse. 😬
How often should we put hair oil in hair?
I am a busy working mom with long hair. What can use on my hair when I let it dry naturally? It is somewhat curly. Thank you.
Thabk you Chris, but I have a question, I have fine hair and I know you have repeatedly recommended the Opalex 7 oil but what do you think about natural oils like pure jojoba, aragan, rosemary, castor, and coconut oil ??? I noticed you dont have any videos about this. Please respond 🙏🏻
Can u do a video qbout how to get rid of flyaway hair forever?
Hey mate, thank you so much for your videos ❤️ I wanted to ask you regarding MOROCCANOIL Original Oil Treatment, I saw the LIGHT version, is it better if my hair to avoid the weigh down?
could i use coconut or blackcurrant seed oil?
Please how often Can i put oil in my hair ? I am Always afraid to put oil too often
Thank you very much
What do you think about coconut oil treatment… like apply it before wash the hair or even sleep with it ??
Can you use morrocin oil if you have thin to medium hair instead of opalex? Opalex products don’t work for me
You aLways say a little k will be on the screen or in the link and its not..I wanted to know how to apply the oil
I have watched all you videos( many) on repeat and Im unsure of when to put the oil in my hair. Ive been doing it while its damp but now rethinking that since I dont see a difference
Do i have to buy these oils or is it fine that i use pure rosemary oil?
It this worth doing for a guy with short curly hair?
Do layers count as ends as well? I it hair oil throughout my hair because of the layers
What I did for my hair fall control. I mixed 3-4 drops of rosemary oil in my liitlexteral coconiion shampoo during application and I kept on continuing this for approximately 3-4 months and I saw my hair fall reduced a lot.
My ends look OK but I have crazy amounts of breakage around my crown with flyaways. I really don't know what to do because I don't want to oil the hair near my head.
hey chris ,ive been thinking of using the briogeo rosarco milk leave in as a replacement for pureology 21 because i cant find it anywhere, so what do u think of it? And what would be the next best alternative for thin hair if the one i listed isnt any good?
Hey! It's not my favorite but if you can't get the pureology version then that will help a lot :)
Should we use oil on scalp?
Can you use hair oil on wet hair if you don’t wanna blow dry it before going to bed?
Can you please talk about oiling scalp and hair roots. is it good for hair growth etc. especially for oily scalp.. I tried it and it’s just making my hair shed more after washing
How do i use olaplex if I have a pixie cut?
how often should i use it
Is it okay to brush with the Mason pearson brush with boar bristle and nylon after you put the oil please?
What do you think of virtue hair products ?
Do I use it Before or after I curl my hair.?
Should I put the oil in before I blow dry
Applying oil also on the days outside of the wash/styling makes so much sense, it's pretty crazy I'm just hearing about it now😅I have fine 2b/2c hair with dry ends, and two of my favourite oils that I thought would last me till the end of times (Moroccanoil and Davines OI) seem to be suited for coarse hair.
1. Should I really swap them for something lighter?
2. How do I actually know if the oil is weighing down my hair or causes greasiness?
Thank you! 🙏
I'm not a professional, but just thought : since the oil is heavier - maybe use fewer drops. You already bought an expensive product, why to waste it? I think just try to use less. That's what I would do. And on dry hair - to see how hair looks after applying oil
I'd swap out for lighter oil, and then dilute the oils you have with the lighter one. Like use 3/4 lighter, 1/4 thicker or 1:1. That way you can also use the other oils and they're not going to waste.
I'm kind of scared to start using, I've heard that some people had certain types of oil do irreparable damage to their hair. How do I know which one I should use?
Oil for hair is your best friend ^_^
If i have split ends should i cut them or just oil them ?
I get the best results from avocado oil.
can't we apply hair oil to scalp???
Hi, do you use hair oil first then blow dry your hair?
I have coily natural hair and not using oil made my life very difficult. I am preparing to cut the rest of the damage caused. Some of us are being told oil keeps water out of hair and that moisture comes when we use a shampoo to life the cuticle to allow water in then condition it, then don't use oil, just gel and a dryer. My hair texture completely changed. I am using more than oil at this point, a pomade that is all oils but they did something to make it thicker because my hair became so porous.
"Keeping water out of the hair" is what a healthy hair strand does! Healthy hair has natural oils inside, and an intact layer of 18-MEA coating each cuticle, giving the hair natural water-repellent and anti-static properties. When these oils are depleted, the hair loses its hydrophobicity and the water-attracting nature of the keratin proteins takes over, and the hair becomes "thirsty", the smooth feel is destroyed and it is forever "dry"... People who say "no oils no butters" are throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Oiling hair all the time and never fully cleansing it is not good, but cutting oil cold turkey is just as bad. A little oil on the ends and a hot oil treatment every once in a blue moon is great.
Raw oils and butter do suffocate the hair, avoid using them in their raw forms and avoid the heavy butters. The 2 products he suggested are very light oils but also include silicones which add to the oily feeling. Olaplex n°7 does not even have oil in the first ingredients and is mostly silicones. A few drops is all you need.
Bruh, I stopped using oils because my hairdresser told me it's not good. What a mistake my hair is damaged now
@@oo-sb4ps what did they sell you when they took you off oil? Is your hair curly or tight texture and natural? A lot of people are coming out with the long term damage from all of this. How long did it take to see the damage?
So I ended up buying the whole set of the Sheamoisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil shampoo, consitioner and mask set. Im certain I have fine hair and my curl pattern has become more loose. The oils in the shampo and conditioner arent good for my hair type are they? But obviously using an oil after youve washed, styled and your hair is dry is the best reason to have oil in your hair right? Fml. All the money ive wasted tryna find what works for my hair is stressful 😂😂
What about oiling your scalp?
Why are castor oil and argon oil so highly praised/recommended?
Hi Chris, I’m looking through your list of recommended products and i’m a little confused with how to use them. What products do i use at the same time? I’m looking at oil, leave in conditioner, volume balm (the redken one you suggested) and the olaplex bond smoother
Hey Zara! Great question. It would be 8 pages typed out... But I'm coming out with a video on exactly this tomorrow afternoon if you can wait for that :)
@@BlowoutProfessor okay that’s great, thanks!
What about just plain Jojoba oil?
hi blowout professor! i love studying with you. if i did a phD, i would definitly want to do it in your department
So been watching your videos last week or so. I'm confused about after spraying with leave in condioner after shower, should hair oil be applied after that?
And how often between showers should you use hair oil and leave in conditioner? Should I use conditioner am and oil pm between washes? Help. 😅
Yes, you use the oil after leave in conditioner. You only have to use them once after washing your hair so it doesn't get oily.
Bonjour Chris! I wanted to know if it's safe to use the hair straightener after having put oil on my hair.
My hairdresser made a comment like my hair could burn if oil was applied before the hair straightener, but since you recommend using oil frequently that would mean i would absolutely need to wash my hair in order to apply heat (?) I'm a little confused😅 Thanks in advance!
Ps. Also, any tips for the ones of us who do sports and get our hair full of sweat often?
You should not straighten your hair after putting oil in it
Is it good for hairs to use hair oil once a week overnight and wash it out next morning??
Next question is doing permanent smoothing to hairs good or does it cause hairfall??
Can dandruff be the cause of hairfull in full length in bulky??
These are loaded with silicones that build up on itself (dimethicone) which means having to use a sulfate shampoo throughout your length drying out your hair all over again. Hence the cycle begins….
Use natural oils instead that actually penetrate and protect your hair strands. 100% pure moroccan or argan oil. A lighter barely there oil, use 100% pure jojoba oil.
Only a pea size is needed to start. Add another pea size amount if needed. Easily washes out with CO washes, gentle no poos, and no sulfates shampoos.
is this only for americans and europeans ? there are a tons of products of hair oils acoss south east asia, hair oil is not only for hair, it is for the scalp, skin, to bring relaxation to the whole body, in some cases it is a whole body lubrication by applying only on the head, i wish that you do more research on this products across the whole world.
What is the difference between a hair oil and a serum or a hairspray and a finishing spray a pump or a mist can you please tell me that and thank you Chris I do watch you a lot
And can you also mix oils Aragon Java coconut almonds can you mix all those oils in one bottle instead of separate ones
Has anyone used Sephora MRG Protective hair oil?
hi chris!Whats your opinion on k18 molecular repair hair mask?Does it work for bleached-damaged hair?
I haven't been able to get very good results with it. I still have a couple of people I want to try it out on. But so far Olaplex seems 1,000% better at repair :)
@@BlowoutProfessor thank you!!😊
@@BlowoutProfessor Thank you! Are there any other bond repair that you can recommend besides Olaplex? What about Living Proof? Thank you!
Hi! I’ve been avoiding oil, because I fear of it staining my blond hair! Can that happen with using hair oils over time? I want to try the olaplex oil you recommend! Can I use that one or should I look for a clear oil? Thank you!!
Hair oil doesn't stain the hair. Olaplex is okay but nothing special for the price. Argon oil is a lot better and also more affordable.
Use transparent hair oil. Dont use yellow one.
Hi. What its the difference between moroccan oil light vrs original, i am blond and dry and corse hair. Wich one its better for me
Light is for thin hair
What suggestion do you have for African American hair?
Hey! If you heat style your hair then Moroccanoil is the absolute best 👍 if you do curly method then I would look for a CGM expert
HELP! Should I cut my damaged bleached ends or should I just oil them up? I'm trying to stay blonde while I grow out my hair.
howdy hey, i was in the same boat. oiling my ends saved me from having to cut my losses
how do I know which oil is best fro my hair if I have an oily scalp (Argan, Moroccan, jojoba, etc)
Hair oil isnt supposed to go on the scalp (unless it says scalp oil or oil for scalp). It’s mostly for dry damaged ends 😊😊
If your hair is weighed down easily I would go for Olaplex 7. If your hair doesn't get weighed down then go for Moroccanoil treatment :)
What about your scalp? Mine is dry, any suggestions for this?
You could oil your scalp before washing it or apply a hair serum on scalp after washing it.
Can hair be damaged if you heat style it after putting oil on it. Even after styling at the following day after treating it with oil?

is it bad to put oil on my hair every day? (even if it's a small amount)
It isn't bad to put a bit of oil on your ends everyday but it could get oily and attract dirt.

You shouldn't oil your hair everyday because it will get very oily.
I was told Castor oil. What's your opinion of that?
Castor oil is an old school thing. It's better than nothing but not one of my favorites 👍
