I love using Olaplex No7. But I received the Moroccan Oil as a gift, and I have stopped using my Olaplex. I love how the Moroccan Oil makes my hair feel and it always smells like I've just walked out of the salon, so it makes me feel like a million dollars 🥰
Been using Moroccanoil for a long time now and it really helped me fight my hair frizz and damage plus it really helped my hair grow faster than usual. Fast absorbing and works wonders for me.
Omg I LOVE this kind of comparison video!! I’m totally a MoroccanOil convert since trying it at Eurovision this year. I ended up repurchasing everything we were gifted…
I love the moroccan oil ❤️ I’ve been using it for more than a year and i don’t think i will change it. My hair is so smooth and the smell … i love the smell. I always have a new bottle in my bathroom.
I like to use MO at night, and apply quite a lot before I put my hair in a lose bun, gives it time to absorb. Then a light layer of olaplex for styling in the morning. My hair is naturally quite frizzy!
May I ask, when you put the MO on at night in the loose bun, is your hair wet or dry? I’ve never even thought of using both of the oils. I’d like to try this. Thanks for the tip.😊
I’m an Oloplex girl usually and love #3 and have been using 6&7 together. Recently I decided to try morrocan oil and I far prefer it for my curly frizzy hair. It makes my hair feel so soft, i love the smell and fact it’s lighter in colour in my blonde hair - I love it.
Hiii, I have curly dry hair too... Could you let me know which step you use the oil in? I usually do the shampoo and then condition and then style my hair using a leave in conditioner and mouse... Where should I fit the oil in?
@@sujatagayari7492 I recommend after shampoo and conditioner, to mix either Moroccan oil with 1 or 2 pumps of Olaplex 6 OR Olaplex 7 with Olaplex 6 and apply it through the lengths of your hair. Then use whatever styling products you want. I use L'occitane shampoo for damaged hair and OUIA conditioning mask for dry hair.
Moroccanoil has been my go-to oil for years. I have thick wavy hair that is lightened. I use the original and it just makes my hair, soft and sleek. I apply it nightly to my ends. Some comments have mentioned buildup which I do not notice as I use a clarifying shampoo once a week. What works for some hair does not work for others!
I love olaplex no 7 and Bumble and Bumble Hairdressers invisible oil! I did not care for Moroccan oil unfortunately. Now trying out Ouai hair oil, so far not liking it, but will continue to try different amount of drops as I may have used too much or even too little on my first try. Love your videos Heidi! I blame you for the sheer madness of products I own, lol !! 💕
I currently been using Moroccan oil. My hair is medium to fine texture, black hair and it gives it a super shine. It smell great i love it. Travel size has last me fooooorever!.
I have wavy curly hair and te Moroccan oil seems to be working well for me. There are a few people in the comments saying it cn lead to breakage - and I find that highly unlikely since it's a nice nourishing oil. Silicones by itself do not cause breakage. Any normal sulfate shampoo will remove buildup caused by silicones and allow conditioner to penetrante. Nowadays sulfate free shpoos are everywhere and I feel like that's leading to increased incidences of build up

The olaplex one is the best I’ve used. The Moroccan oil created such a buildup on my hair even with only a little bit. My conditioner wouldn’t penetrate properly and I had a lot of breakage. The women I work with at my salon found the same thing. This was a few years ago. Maybe they’ve changed their formula since.

My hair is super coarse, frizzy, and kinda wavy...I tried Maroccan oils both the original and the light one ( I was very disappointed ) among other products of course but nothing has ever really done for my hair as much as Olaplex. Either nr 7 alone or mixed with nr 6. Sure, the hair isn't the softest ( has never been in my case ) but Olaplex controls it all, and most importantly the frizz, the enemy nr 1 ;). Guess who showed me Olaplex? You Heidi!!! Thanks for making my life sooooo much easier :).

Love this review and comparison! I actually use both together (though I use the original version of the moroccanoil treatment). I love them both for different reasons and love the effect they have when combined. Great video!
I’ve been using olaplex bonding oil for years it worked so good for me not greasy not heavy gave my hair life & bounce literally my hair was like straw before switching to pureology shampoo/conditioner & their leave in then the olaplex but I bought the Moroccan brand shampoo/conditioner after years of using pureology I have tried so many professional shampoo/conditioners & nothing ever compared but let me tell you the Moroccan brand WOW I was supremely impressed my hair was so soft & felt so healthy too & the snake was AMAZING in all CAPS 😂 I was getting compliments of how good my hair smelled in public.
I started using Moroccan Oil recently and I must say it wins! The fragrance is heavenly, it's very light on the hair yet it tames my frizz so well. But sadly it's so pricey 😢
For my hair, the Moroccanoil was too heavy and after 1 day my hair felt slightly greasy. At least for me I prefer the Olaplex. I would recommend if your hair is very thin go with the Olaplex it is truly weightless 🤗
Linda, mirándote bien los largos, creo que Olaplex te dejó mejor 🤷🏼♀️. Sobre todo en la parte media (a la altura de donde sostenés el producto) creo ver que el lado de MO no suavizó lo suficiente. I started using Olaplex after watching your videos way back, and I can't be happier. BTW, looooveeee the location. Abrazo, amiga. 🤩

I have never tried a better oil than Olaplex. I did not like the morocannoil because it did not hidrate my hair and on the long run it did not make my hair halthier like olaplex did
You're such a beauty! In my personal experience with Olaplex No 7, it doesn't really soften my hair. It honestly doesn't do too much for my coarse, wavy/ curly and EXTREMELY FRIZZY hair. Which is sad. Moroccan oil, of any brand really, makes a very noticeable difference in my hair, above and beyond anything else I've ever used. With that being said, still I try new products hoping I guess to top what Moroccan oil can do. I think this video helped me put all that into perspective. I don't think there's any better product or ingredient really, than Moroccan oil, of any kind for my hair type. Well done! And thank you! Thank you! Oh, I almost forgot to say Moroccan oil actually creates MOVEMENT in my hair or flexibility, as you said. Above and beyond virtually anything else I've tried. It's a precious gem of a hair product, imo, and as of today, it's my holy grail, my absolutely must have!🧡😃
ahahah that’s why i want the olaplex no.7. i have thin, fine, pin straight hair, so i need something LIGHT. i normally don’t use serums but the UV protection and bonding technology as well as better drying sounds great
@@imawakemymindisalive13 then this formula might really work for you! My hair is the opposite of yours and this olaplex does nothing to improve it on any level.
I love the comparison. Personally I prefer Moroccan oil over either Olaplex no.6 or 7. It really absorbs in and make my hair feel super soft and hydrated. Olaplex doesn't do much here but love no.3 tho. A plus of no.7 is like you said is the heat protection benefit.
@@wlidmaroc I tried pure argan / jojoba / cameilia oil but it doesn’t quite as hydrating. I think in hair care products, they add in some ingredients to help penetrate through hair. Anyway, still use natural oil before any hair wash.
My only problem with these 2 products is that the first ingredients in both are Dimethicone. I know there are lots of types of Dimethicones. Olaplex say that they only use water soluble dimethicones in their products but this should usually have the words PEG before or Copolyol after the word. These below are water soluble Dimethicones however both Olaplex and Moroccan oil just say the word Dimethicone on the label so I want to find out as I can’t use sulphates on my hair to wash out insoluble Dimethicones PEG-8 (or higher) Dimethicone Bis-PEG-8 (or higher) Dimethicone Bis-PEG-8/PEG-8 Dimethicone Bis-PEG-18 methyl ether dimethyl silane PEG-8-PG-coco glucoside dimethicone Dimethicone PEG-X phosphate Dimethcione copolyol (this is an older and less descriptive designation, but may still be found on some labels)
very interesting review, i bought the brand sephora for oil hair, because the brand olaplex i never used , the morroco oil i just tested i didnt liked the smell/how thick is it, tough i never tried
Olaplex fragrance is gorgeous- citrus type, light and refreshing, Disappears within seconds which is great for me as i get headaches from strong perfume/fragrance. Love Olaplex but currently my hair is extra damaged so ordered Moroccan Oil to try it out. Someone I know with uber-damaged hair has used it and it has recovered her practically dead hair to being full of life. Not looking forward to the stronger scent but need it to repair my hair so will have to bear it!
@heidiguttenberg Heidi ❤ So .. arrived today and I think it's a good oil. However the fragrance is just awful .. I have no choice as my hair is just so damaged. Once the condition improves (and i know it will as I have seen my niece's hair transform to life within months), I am going back to Olaplex as that fragrance is gorgeous and disappears. This fragrance is just lingering and I do have a headache. Personally, I feel the Olaplex is a better 'drink' for hair, lighter and just perfect. Will update after a few weeks or maybe sooner if I notice an improvement with the Moroccan oil. Olaplex doesn't feel like an oil. Moroccan Oil does.
Ok, so used this oil 3 hrs ago and the smell is driving me crazy. Reminds me of the Amla hair oil that is so popular with the Indian community the world over - that also may work wonders but for me fragrance free or near to is a top priority because if I am not careful and overload, my headaches develop into migraines. Going to go wash it out of my hair. I will try using it again to see if I can gradually begin to come to terms with it, otherwise will have to give it away. I have been using Olaplex - the whole range - and saw a dramatic difference after the second time I used the products, so I would rather use them and accept that maybe it will take longer for my hair to recover. I am happy with that as I do love that fragrance, it is light and fades quickly. Every single body is different and my impression of Moroccan oil is .. its a great oil for other people but maybe not for me.
Hello Heidi I went to the hair salon to get a hair color the girl kind've fried my hair a friend said she was the best she was wrong she's the worst I've tried all kinds of oils for my hair a friend recommended COLORWOW dream coat it's expensive but doesn't seem to help so I tried the Chris Appleton + Colorwow MONEY masque it does not do what it showed on a video he made. Maybe cause he used a girl with her hair not fried. Can you try them and do a video with another oil maybe compare the Moroccan oil light with the Colorwow Dream Coat and the COLOR WOW MONEY masque and see what you think is way better. Love your videos thank you.😊
Great video! I think I will get olaplex cuz of the heat protection but I’ve also heard that Moroccan oil is a natural heat protectant… (I’m not sure though!)
Thx for this review. Try sarynakey pepair treatment , not light version though , I'm fun of olaplex & now sarynakey , is certain treatment & if olaplex is bonding hair the sarynakey is making fuller & I loooove their repair oil , the smell & the actual job it does! Let us know what you you think.
I just got introduced to this product. I’ve already noticed a great difference, but I’m also curious how I would go about with the rest of my hair routine. Before I used this, I would blow dry my hair on medium then apply pomade and hairspray to lock it in. So how would I apply this into my routine? I’ve started to just use the oil by itself because I love how soft it makes my hair feel and smell. It definitely gives off a nice shine but I still see some frizz and loose hairs. But times where I want my hair to actually hold in place is when I would apply my other products
The oil is a heat protectant. You can use it before blowdrying and/or after as a finishing oil. Not sure how it would go on your routine. Maybe try after you style it.
Are you still using elvive extraordinary oil? Do you think it's comparable to these two? I actually have all of these three but cannot tell difference😆
I'm away in a very humid area at the moment without my Moroccan oil and I feel helpless. Have not tried Olaplex but I cannot live without my Moroccan Oil.
I feel like my hair is getting tons of buildup. I have tried a plethora of hair oils; verb, morrocan, oui, briogeo and kerastase. I should try the olaplex oil. I know I tried their entire system and it gave me the worst scalp itch I have ever experienced. However, I didn’t try the olaplex 7 by itself. I wonder is there are hair oils that are heat protectant and also self bonding silicones
I would say, try using a different shampoo for every day. Reserve N4 for when you do your full treatment only. And clarify every once in a while (like she said).
I love your videos! Do either of the oils turn your blonde hair brassy? Are they both actually repairing the hair or just making it shinier? Also, can you use the Moroccanoil Treatment Light with Olaplex No. 6 for great results? Thank you!!
What about the silicones? Moroccan oil they say has a high concentration of silicones, what kind of shampoos wash out the silicones, which should i prefer?
Hi heidi please can i suggest one day for you too do a review on the shu uemura sleek line for anti frizz it looks fantastic for frizzy hair but still unsure
I like Moroccan oil but I wish they made one without added fragrance. I just bought a bottle of pure argan oil and I’m hoping I like it since the Moroccan oil is so expensive
Hi,Heidiii😍😍😍,please pleaseee stop using maroccan oil.I can’t believe that people are still buying it.They even don’t replace shitty silicon they are full with with better non build up and non drying silicons.
I started using Morocan oil years ago and my hair became very dry and brittle. I was told that silicones aka cones were not good to use on your hair because it blocks moisture from going back into the hair. I had to stop using it. I am interested in using the Olaplex now 7 but worried it will lock the moisture out of my hair because of the silicones.
I used both and also the Kerastase elixir and have had the same problem with every single hair oil… dry brittle ends. I thought the point was to lock in the moisture of the leave-in conditioner but somehow it locks the moisture out of my hair. I’m starting to think it’s oil in general, regardless of the brand…
I started drinking amla juice by mixing it with juice from aloe vera twice a day. Regularly trimming the hair additionally helps. Take care of your lifestyle. Let me know your thoughts when you compare both!
beautiful background ♡ thankyou for the video! very helpful:) wish you wellbeing and happiness 😊
So sweet 🥰 Thank you for being here!
That was very comprehensive, thank you so much.
So happy it helped!
So helpful, thank you Heidi.
So much sunlight in the background 😀😀😀 💞💞💞💞 so bright and lovely, like you 😘🥀
Awwww 🥰 you’re the sweetest !
I use the olaplex 6&7 in damp hair then apply Moroccan oil in dry hair.
Sounds like a great ANTIFRIZZ mix
Omg genius! Im gonna try this
I’ve been using olaplex bonding oil for years it worked so good for me not greasy not heavy gave my hair life & bounce literally my hair was like straw before switching to pureology shampoo/conditioner & their leave in then the olaplex but I bought the Moroccan brand shampoo/conditioner after years of using pureology I have tried so many professional shampoo/conditioners & nothing ever compared but let me tell you the Moroccan brand WOW I was supremely impressed my hair was so soft & felt so healthy too & the snake was AMAZING in all CAPS 😂 I was getting compliments of how good my hair smelled in public.
Thanks so much for your own compassion review! Loved reading your opinion! ❤️
I started using Moroccan Oil recently and I must say it wins! The fragrance is heavenly, it's very light on the hair yet it tames my frizz so well. But sadly it's so pricey 😢
Thank you! I love reading your reviews and experiences 🫶
Gabiii 👋🏻 Thanks so much for being here and for sharing your thoughts on this comparison. Beso 😘
Mil gracias, por el idioma hermosa, aquí una mexicana sin saber de que estan hablando, hasta que llegue a tu mensaje jijiii😘
I love mixing them
Interesting!
Hi Dear Heidi 🤗 I actually ran out this morning of the Moroccan Oil so I bought for the first time Bumble and bumble Hairdressers invisible oil …. I just wanted a change ☺️ hope I made the right decision
Let me know if I should try it too!
This was very helpful! Thank you!
So happy to hear this! ♥️
I use both..funny to compare the two
It was requested ♥️ If you have any product review or comparison requests let me know!

Gracias Lourdes! Siempre presente y tirando buena onda! Me alegro que disfrutaras el video y la naturaleza. ♥️
I have never tried a better oil than Olaplex. I did not like the morocannoil because it did not hidrate my hair and on the long run it did not make my hair halthier like olaplex did
Love morocannoil ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for sharing!😍
😀 thanks for watching Farlie! ♥️
Yo amo Moroccanoil pero tendré que probar el de olaplex, veremos que pasa.
It's a precious gem of a hair product, imo, and as of today, it's my holy grail, my absolutely must have!🧡😃
Thanks so much for your detailed review Lisa Marie!
@@heidiguttenberg oh, I didn't mean for it to be so long. Thank you!
@@lisamariepagliei3945 loved it! 🥰
ahahah that’s why i want the olaplex no.7. i have thin, fine, pin straight hair, so i need something LIGHT. i normally don’t use serums but the UV protection and bonding technology as well as better drying sounds great
@@imawakemymindisalive13 then this formula might really work for you! My hair is the opposite of yours and this olaplex does nothing to improve it on any level.
Came here after just buying the moroccanoil treatment!
How did it go for you?!
@@heidiguttenberg I think I'm obsessed...I have really dry hair as it's bleached and it's soaked right in and looks super shiny and sleek! Love!
FYI You didn’t go up as high closer to the root on the Moroccan oil side as the Olaplex side.
🤔 I would need to rewatch… but that can happen sometimes
So... I think I should try Moroccanoil for my very dry ends. Great review!!!! And it is lovely hearing the sound of the birds at the back.
Let me know how that goes Ceci ♥️ I needed nature so badly 🤪
I love the comparison. Personally I prefer Moroccan oil over either Olaplex no.6 or 7. It really absorbs in and make my hair feel super soft and hydrated. Olaplex doesn't do much here but love no.3 tho. A plus of no.7 is like you said is the heat protection benefit.
the natural argan oil is the better than anything else but should buy it from the source from Morocco
These below are water soluble Dimethicones however both Olaplex and Moroccan oil just say the word Dimethicone on the label so I want to find out as I can’t use sulphates on my hair to wash out insoluble Dimethicones
PEG-8 (or higher) Dimethicone
Bis-PEG-8 (or higher) Dimethicone
Bis-PEG-8/PEG-8 Dimethicone
Bis-PEG-18 methyl ether dimethyl silane
PEG-8-PG-coco glucoside dimethicone
Dimethicone PEG-X phosphate
Dimethcione copolyol (this is an older and less descriptive designation, but may still be found on some labels)
You need to brush the hair after applying the product for better distribution so it doesn't just lays there on the top layer.
very interesting review, i bought the brand sephora for oil hair, because the brand olaplex i never used , the morroco oil i just tested i didnt liked the smell/how thick is it, tough i never tried
Is it the light one?
@@heidiguttenberg I wrote wrong oops ,I mean the hair serum by Sephora, for strengthening the hair. and the hair oil by gisou
Thank you!!
Thank YOU for stopping by!
Let me know your thoughts when you try it!
@heidiguttenberg Heidi ❤
So .. arrived today and I think it's a good oil.
Is olaplex oil better than moroccanoil for normal not hemical treated hair?
Love your videos thank you.😊
I wouldn’t use DreamCoat for fried hair. I just tried MONEY though!! ua-cam.com/video/ZLnY0k6TMK4/v-deo.htmlsi=3gCdrJne2zQ1riZ4
Thank you for the video very helpful, I love your nail polish color can you pls share what it is?
😁Hi~have been you try Arganmidas hair care products.
Not yet! Thanks for recommending!
Great video! I think I will get olaplex cuz of the heat protection but I’ve also heard that Moroccan oil is a natural heat protectant… (I’m not sure though!)
Thankssss ❤️❤️ I love Olaplex #7… because of u I decided to try 6 y 7 together andddd That change my hair!!!! 🔥
What’s your nails polish color??
I’m so happy for you! ♥️ Here’s the link to my nail polish shade rstyle.me/cz-n/e5ctcmzkrn
@@heidiguttenberg graciasss 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thx for this review. Try sarynakey pepair treatment , not light version though , I'm fun of olaplex & now sarynakey , is certain treatment & if olaplex is bonding hair the sarynakey is making fuller & I loooove their repair oil , the smell & the actual job it does! Let us know what you you think.
Thanks for recommending!
I have tried the Moroccan oil it smells good but still doesn’t moisturizer your hair, I will definitely go with the Olaplex oil
I’m glad you found your true love ❤️
Can you please try and review virtue labs hair products, thank you 😊
I have tried their shampoo. But I have a full line review in mind. Not sure exactly when 😂
I just got introduced to this product.
Hola bella porque no haces la comparativa para ver qué es mejor olaplex o k18 llega el FB para ofertaa
Me gusta la idea para un video. Sigo probando K18.
Are you still using elvive extraordinary oil? Do you think it's comparable to these two? I actually have all of these three but cannot tell difference😆
Yes, sometimes I do! It’s the best drugstore alternative I’ve tried so far.
The Olaplex looks much Better & less frizzy
Hola Heidi!!!! Adoro tu contenido pero porfa pon subtítulos en español pleaseeeeee!!!!
i like this vdo thx.
Thank you!
@@heidiguttenberg 💖
I'm away in a very humid area at the moment without my Moroccan oil and I feel helpless. Have not tried Olaplex but I cannot live without my Moroccan Oil.
😬 Loved your review! Feel your pain with humidity
Use a clarifying shampoo to remove build up ☺️
I would say, try using a different shampoo for every day.
Thank you!!
Great questions I'm curious too
What about the silicones? Moroccan oil they say has a high concentration of silicones, what kind of shampoos wash out the silicones, which should i prefer?
I use both. One first. Then the other. Rub all over my fingers and hands, then run fingers and hands through all my hair. Hair soaks it all in.
You know what? I may try that!
What’s the difference between The Moroccan oil light and just the Moroccan oil? I’m trying to see which one I should get
Hi! I have a video on that comparison here ua-cam.com/video/dbtlNypt1Pk/v-deo.html Hope it helps!
@@heidiguttenberg thanks!
Hi heidi please can i suggest one day for you too do a review on the shu uemura sleek line for anti frizz it looks fantastic for frizzy hair but still unsure
Definitely! I have to try it! It’s on my list 😃
Did you Eve wash hands between applying?
I like Moroccan oil but I wish they made one without added fragrance. I just bought a bottle of pure argan oil and I’m hoping I like it since the Moroccan oil is so expensive
what’s aegean oil like
And important to note - both companies are cruelty-free.
Thanks 🥰
Will silicones be bad for my hair over time? Does it cause buildup?
I clarify from time to time to avoid this. But, it depends if they’re soluble they may not build up.
The Olaplex oil makes my hair very greasy quickly, no problems with the Moroccanoil, my hair drinks it up.
Interesting 🤔 Thanks so much for your review! What’s your hair type?
Hi,Heidiii😍😍😍,please pleaseee stop using maroccan oil.I can’t believe that people are still buying it.They even don’t replace shitty silicon they are full with with better non build up and non drying silicons.
Olaplex oil have the same silicons
Which one do you suggest?
I do agree the the Moroccan oil looked more voluminous at the top than the Olaplex no. 7. Great video, Heidi!! Thank you 😘
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!
After reading very bad reviews from a lot of people as to what happened to them from using Olaplex…I’ll never use Olaplex.
Does morroccon oil leaves oily and greasy hair??
Yes, Olaplex No7 also has silicones which I am
told are soluble. However, if you are going for a silicone free oil, maybe try Briogeo.
Muy lindo ese lugar!!
Siiiii 😍
