Kills mpg, causes endless problems/faults, the system does not work its criminal, im a van owner/driver 40k a year, last 3 vans ive owned from new fully serviced by dealerships and maintained to the highest standards using only manufacturer's part's etc. All 3 have had nightmare problems with adblue. Just had the adblue system deleted from my latest vehicle, problems after problems from 25k miles on the clock now has 110k and deleted adblue, gained 7 mpg and problems have gone. Europe needs to be jailed for introducing such a muppet idea 😂😂

My Adblue leaked when my Vauxhall Combo van was three years old.
When engine management system detected leak it started a count down on display stating 'engine will not start in 400 miles' after a few days 'engine will not start in 350 miles', after a few more days 'engine will not start in 300 miles'.
Van was in a main dealer for four months and four days being repaired. Four months was waiting for parts!
Vauxhall paid the cost of repair, just over £3k and vehicle hire for four months, £4K.
Thats over £7K from Vauxhall for a van I paid £12K for.

@@Leehuss5582 Hi Lee, ( I’m no professional expert) but diesels requiring Adblue are the ones manufactured after 2015 to satisfy the Euro 5 category emissions regulations. Evidently it is designed to help break down the carcinogenic exhaust particles in diesel engines. ( I think these are the only diesels allowed in the ULEZ zone). trust me when I say “no diesel engines” need it as apparently it’s made up of 80% water and 20% acidic Ammonia- (commonly known as wee) ( I think the industry mainly refines pig wee for this purpose but I think human wee is the same actually!) so from an engineers point of view is actually harmful to the engines hardware as it causes faster rust and corrosion to all of the ferrous engine parts! All heavy trucks have been using this stuff for the past 15 years, they use it alongside the egr to bring the nox emissions down, never noticed a problem with the system probably because the diesel engine is worked hard most of the time, problems arise when you oversize an engine for an application, so you have a 600 hp v6 pulling a thirty ton load and the engine doesn't get it's high temperatures for long enough and this causes sensor and dpf issues

You might need to get a new adblue tank. The original tanks had metal fins to stop the adblue from sloshing around. These get corroded by the urea. You might need to go to a Citroën dealer to get a new plastic tank installed. Cost me £2k but check your warranty.
