I absolutely loved the original watercolor painting of the blue and purple hydrangeas! I would have picked that up in a heartbeat! Thanks for sharing Dr.Lori!
Lovely to see someone with your level of expertise who knows quality and what is worth picking up. I personally enjoy picking up pretty bone china from the UK from manufacturers who have been producing forever. It makes me feel connected to the past. Thanks for what you do!
Used to find good deals on treasures at Goodwill/thrift stores. Not any more. I think they have experts pick out good items to sell online. Not much fun now.
5:32 I love the shape of the plates. Gilding is a term that I’m always forgetting 7:04 that’s a nice candlestick holder 8:28 watercolor painting is nice
If I saw you at thrift store, I would be one of those people kinda hanging around waiting for you to appraise something. Maybe, it will be a picture or a vase, etc. Dr. Lori will find. I would grab it run to the check out and ask for a discount. 🤭🫣🤗How exciting to find a treasure in an ordinary thrift store. I love shopping!❤😂😊
Great info about that beautiful painting and the frame. Thanks and boy were you allergic to something in there or what! I felt for you but you pushed through it lol
Teapots without lids can be used as bird feeders. Just use rope or string or wire to hang the handle from a shepherd's hook or a plant hanger or bracket, so the lid opening is vertical. The birds can easily sit on the rim or the spout, some smaller birds go right inside to eat.
my grandparents lived near the Stangl outlet in Flemington NJ and had a pantry brimming over with just about every piece made in the pattern they collected. I rarely see it in thrift or antique stores.
People haven’t gotten rid of it yet. They’re still using it. I collect Stangl. Someone gave my grandmother a Stangl tea pot Town and Country pattern in blue. It’s spatter ware. I have added more pieces. It’s expensive. I also have a couple Stangl plates hanging on the brick wall in my kitchen.
Wow I was surprised by the retail price on the regional artist. Gives me ideas with local online auctions- people don’t buy those and they go cheap. Thx for info. I have a boat load of prints, lithograph and some sarragraphs - oops spelling lol- and other artists. Just bought an old tapestry from medieval or renaissance period, going have to use you for an hour or two on these things. Been buying things you talk about and even bought some marbles?? Don’t collect but have the marvel and 50 clay ones from the late 19 th century, I think, but thinking is dangerous 😅
My sister and I always look forward to your videos. Our Goodwill stores don’t really have nicer things like what you show. Is there any way you could make your videos longer?
Thanks, Lori! It's nice to learn about this. Those pieces are sitting there though because nobody wants them anymore! I'm specifically referring to the dishes. It's not that they aren't worth that, it's just that they don't sell!

Thanks for watching! Have you searched my channel? Used my Binge link? I have so many videos that talk about other types of items. Is there a specific topic that you'd like me to discuss? Dr. Lori is the kind of friend I'd like to have - treasure hunting and then coffee/tea, yes please!
I've learned so much from you for glassware ty!

That hydrangea painting is stunning!
Thanks Dr Lori for these awesome videos. You are priceless, love you❤
My Goodwill isn’t even close to this one, nice merchandise!

Dr Lori. Thank you for your videos. I am trying to learn
If I saw that hydrangea water color I would buy it for sure!
Pieces like those are NOT in Goodwills near me. Mostly just full of junk.
Omg I’m almost crying that you didn’t get that floral watercolor!
Same for me, mostly junk at mine too!
Ours as well, when it comes to dishware 🫤
@@QuiltycrazyMine too.
😅
My Goodwill is hit and miss. You just have to keep checking.
You always make my day, you are fun , you are like a walking encyclopedia lot of great info
Ty Dr. Lori! Always so informative and fun to watch 🙂
Thank you Dr. Lori! I love watching these treasure hunt store videos and learning from your expertise advice!
Mostly junk at my goodwills, but it is so fun looking. I did score a haeger pottery vase in mint condition for $3.49 last week. Love your videos.
I totally am always taking my glasses off and on always. Great show, thank you
I learned something new (as usual). Thank you for sharing your knowledge.😊
Love the single amber stick from the 60s! I would have bought it👍

Beautiful piece of sponge ware.
Yes, I loved it also. I could serve a nice plate of rustic spaghetti on it.
LOVE your shopping videos.
Love the last item .... gorgeous flowers.
I have that exact Italian spongeware platter that I bought in 1985. Just accidentally broke the big matching mixing bowl.
Oh no!
Great info about that beautiful painting and the frame. Thanks and boy were you allergic to something in there or what! I felt for you but you pushed through it lol
Thank you, love the goodwill and thrift store videos. ❤
I'd buy that teapot for flowers!! So pretty and quality is there.
I love your videos!

Always learn someting from you .. thanks
My moms husband was a artist and he loved painting hydrangeas. Makes that picture look like kindergarten
They’re my favorite flower.

I would use the baskets for hand towels in the bathroom. I also, would use them for fruit on the counter.
Just discovered your channel. It's great! So much useful info.
I would have found a home for that watercolor. I am shocked at it was only priced at 12$, quality framing costs a fortune!
Thanks for sharing.
I’m always looking for 2 plates as it’s just my husband and I most of the time.
I've missed your videos. Don't know if that's you or me. However, thanks. Great info. 🤗
My favorite was the transferware.
Great vid! Thank you!
I don’t have to arch your video to know it’s going to be good ❤️

I agree about no one wanting old dishes. I'm in Illinois and cannot sell any beautiful dishes.

Another reason people buy single candleholders is to replace one that broke from their pair.

I would have bought that water color
I have Stangl, a complete set of 12, with several serving pieces. I’m old, 78, are these worth passing on? They are Town and Country blue sponge wear.
I can help! Need to see your set. Many factors affect value. Check out my website for the ways you can show me the set.

That makes no sense. Sorry, but I disagree with you.
Where do people sell these? I have a entire cabinet of these things. Just don't know where to sell them.

Dr how do preserve paper doll trunk early I want to save what's lefts any idea I still want to have it out on display. Thanks you
Good question to ask during my next Ask Dr. Lori LIVE video so I can answer in detail and teach everyone watching. Check my website for the next date.
My 2 thrift stores don’t have such exotic goods. Southern Wisconsin- they probably thing we are a bunch of dumb farmers and don’t deserve nice things.
Dr . Lori, please expand beyond dishes and kitchenware. I appreciate your expertise but there are only so many plates and tableware i can stand.

I would make an arrangement in the tea pots.🫖
