  • Without good preparation you will lack power, control and options so learning good habits from the start is vital to allow you to develop your swing as you get stronger.
Adding cut will kill the ball which becomes more important as you get better so understand how the different aspects of your swing affect the ball and make early preparation a priority in your swing.
As you reach a higher standard you will reduce your swing but learning the a high racquet prep early is a great way to build strength and to reinforce early prep movements in your swing.

Around 0:55, you mentioned about slicing down when hitting the drive. Is it for when I want to keep the ball relatively low? 🤔

Thanks for the question, cutting to the floor makes the ball die so to hit to the back you still cut to the floor but you open the face of the racquet to make the ball go deeper. The result is a deep ball that stays in the back corner.
