Squash Analysis - Aggressive game plan

  • By cross driving, or going short off situations when you have time on the ball or are in a good body position to take the ball early you can create opportunity as long as your shot is good quality.
    This is great squash to watch and fantastic to play but your opponent will not always allow you to play like this.
    I lost this match due to his consistency power and control but when he let me have options I chose to play this type of hard working rallies.

    Thank you for the great video, I love the way of thinking behind each shot. I find that I am very reactionary in my shots. Will try to play with some of the ideas you have shared.

      Glad it helps, this game plan suits my body characteristics and yours may be different so experiment and understand your abilities as well as your opponents.

    So why don't you play an attacking game all the time? Is it to do with fitness level? Or is it because they'll always expect it and so it won't work as well as when you pull it out now and again? I would have thought if you can make your opponent run, change direction etc, then you should just do that all the time shouldn't you? And win when they get knackered and start playing loose shots, or not getting to shots.
    I'm older too (50+) and am just getting back into the game after a 30 year hiatus lol. I used to be able to run all day and just run people off the court, but now I have to be very very judicious with my movement - as you mentioned towards the end there.

      At 59 years of age I can not attack with this game pace relentlessly so I need to do it in bursts. If playing a slower or less fit player then it can be done non stop. Great fun though and a little more training and I can do it more often.
