We needed to see more Adam - no point having a car like this without ragging the arse out of it properly for us to enjoy. One of my fav cars ever - always wanted a mk2 with circa 500bhp and a similar set up to this for track days, wouldn't have this colour but doesnt make me any less envious watching it
One of the most amazing looking Fords I have seen. The black door handles really suit it on that orange colour.
I had a 1979 Mk 2 Escort 1600 Sport in the mid 80's in that colour.......ahh memories.....!!.
I had a signal orange Mk2 back in the 90s. Very similar to this but a 1300 with 2 extra doors and roughly 400 hp less! Great fun nonetheless.
Now that is a MK2 weapon. Has everything on it and in the correct colour TNT orange! Fantastic.

@@rastaralph7154 Probably on a par if not worse than what we all have to put with in the uk due to general poor surfaces, surveillance and pot holes everywhere which makes the driving experience is massively reduced owning a performance car now.

@@MattyBrad people used to spray hair spray on their number plates to reflect the numbers when it flashes. Don't know if that still works but worth a try 👍

Hi Adam, very nice car & very nice preparation. But personally do not like any YB turbos in Escorts...it has to be n/a first, so BDG on fuel injection or Millington Diamond with roller barrel throttle... Just check out 'Frank Kelly Rallying' for the ultimate spec MK2 & proper ragging the arse out of it...nice👍.
Sounds exactly like a rally car, my mate used to rally a sapphire cossie that sounded the same inside, headsets were the best for talking normally in it 😂

If the colour is TNT EXPRESS its the original colour of the General Lee from "Dukes of Hazard which was used to eliminate reflections of camera crew when General Lee drove past, was kept a closely guarded secret til about 3 years ago and was from "TNT EXPRESS" Delivery trucks hence the paint name

If you don't fancy knitting an old Escort shell back together with MIG wire, MST motorsports now offer new Mk1s & Mk2s, but they aren't allowed to call them Escorts.
Need deep pockets though, as a decent spec car starts at about £70k.

You ever noticed a trend thats theres some mega fords in Scotland and mostly west coast
My first MKII was a 1.3GL, 4 door in Gold. Ended it's life the same as most, in Wales, in a lane, over a humpback bridge, up a bank, through a hedge, into a field. Tried sledging the inner wings and pulling it out with ropes, too far gone. Scrap it, strip the parts, onto the next!
You can have a lot of fun in one of these without going so far as to make it too loud and impractical to enjoy for more than 10 mins at a time, those smiles quickly turn to headaches and sore bones unless you're on a smooth as glass track with ear plugs and a lid, must be what he bought that for, not for the streets.

Could put sound deadening and carpet in and still be a quick car. Gone are the days of all the noise inside. Does your swede in after a while all that noise. Good fun though

Probably, it's a bit OTT, for a while my dream car was a Metro 6R4 till i found out it'd be absolute torture to drive on the road.
Aye most hardcore cars built for rallying or track driving aren't build for comfort! stunning colour with all the right noises :)

I've got a '55 Chevy 2 door, Gasser style. 7.5 litre big block Chevy V8, 4 speed manual transmission, no carpet, no power steering, no servo on the brakes (but vented discs all round), no heater, sliding windows, no creature comforts at all.
Around 600 - 650bhp.
Absolutely terrifying.
It's brilliant fun.
