Because dark colors like burgundy are a bit strong near my face, I often wear a burgundy bottom and pale pink top, these colors look great together, they are a tint and a tone of essentially the same hue, a cooler red. Quince has 100% cashmere knit skirts like the black A-line you show here, for not much more money. I finally had to replace my entire wardrobe this autumn after going from a size 16 to a size 6, then waiting several years to make sure my weight stayed stable, it did. Quince has made this a lot less financially painful, but most importantly, they have the natural fibers I need (skin allergies to plastics). Thank you❤

What would you suggest/ add for this basics if I would choose short sleeve basics and add a blazer or something else I could take off easly ( a nice jacket would work as well)? I feel hot (and also cold) very quickly. I have sweaters but mostly I weat them only around my shoulders (the air condition in the feels like the cold air is sinking down on the neck and shoulders. Dear Catharina, thanks for your comments. Regarding additional pieces to this capsule… I think white basic T shirt or shirt with a blazer would be absolutely perfect! I would say in grey shades. And straight cut , if you want to wear it with swearers. The only short grey jacket will not be suitable to wear over the blazer. But black trench or long coat will be just perfect
I love all length of boots, but I am mostly a skirt and dress wearer, so wear the long ones most. I wear both knee-high and thigh-high styles, depending on the skirt length. I’m 63, but still wear some above-knee skirts, and the skirt-matching thigh-highs and thick tights are the warmest and most age-appropriate option with those. My legs look great for any age (thanks to my ancestors) and I don’t want to stop showing them altogether. I have only a basic black and a beautiful taupe pairs of thigh-highs, I would love to find some in other neutral or basic colors, dark or cognac brown, khaki-green, navy or burgundy/cordovan.

If I love an item, it meets my fabric and style requirements, and is within my budget, I buy it. If it’s out of budget, I save up for it. Most of my fellow Americans focus almost exclusively on unrealistically low prices, which is one reason quality has deteriorated so much here. No one can produce a great shirt, say, for $10, which is what people expect. This kind of pricing reflects both the exploitation of the workers and the environment for the short life cycle of the clothing, as well as the proliferation of dirt-cheap synthetics/plastic shoes and accessories.
I respect your opinion and my capsule is based on my followers request. Most expensive item is a leather trench coat. Not everyone can afford middle market prices now days.. that’s why I’m giving an alternative option.
This story of capsule wardrobe is like reinventing the wheel. Or have women fallen so low that they do not know you only buy clothes that you can mix and match and they need to be taught ?
