@ That’s what I told the managers I worked for before. I told them they should’t put one handler to take care of so many dogs alone as that is putting dogs and the coach high risk of getting hurt, but they didn’t listen to me and I ended up having a huge laceration on the back of my hand while breaking up one fight on the top of another.
@@rdred8693 Oh, yes, and I have a hand that doesn't close completely, it's all inflamed between the joints, nerves and ligaments. Even though it happened on September 26th, I am still getting my hand therapy twice a week and have not yet been cleared by the doctor. Also, now my hand is not aesthetically pleasing.
This is great! I’m in California but I love this video. Thanks for sharing. I feel much better now if I have to take my GSD to a daycare center. Love it!
My collie was asked to leave day care, got overstimulated playing fetch constantly and wanted to herd rather than play and would tell the other dogs off. Only one may two people and I think they freaked out with his corrections
treadmills are good but the black and white dog seems like it was a tad too fast...thats my only concern no full eyeballs in the treadmill area.. with all the distractions how is that area not forgotten ...are they on a timer, etc
@@VermontDogTrainer It was awful. I blew the whistle on her for other things. Rotten, greedy and flat out terrible person. The good news is word is getting around how bad it is there.
We would wait at the game for the new dog to chill out a bit. We would also get a read from the dogs in the daycare already seeing how they react to the newbie. Once things settled we would walk the dog in on leash while someone else walked behind the new dog. This helps not making the newbie so overwhelmed otherwise the daycare dogs would swarm around the dog which could cause unwanted reactions. Also, each dog is different so read the situation and follow your gut.
I love this! I wish all daycares were run like this. I'm actually looking at applying at a few places and my main hesitation is that it will be one of those larger places that are just complete chaos for hours on end.
I have a question. I work at a doggy daycare, its part time 30 hours a week and the hours & days off are steady. My shift starts at 2pm. Here's my issue, The doggy daycare will call me if there's not a lot of dogs and tell me "its slow today not many dogs, don't come in today". Does this happen? I'm asking because i didn't sign up to be working on-call.
@@allborosnyc4544 I always had my clients make a reservation for the next time they are coming. That way I made the schedule according to how many dogs were on the books.
who put the dogs on the treadmills? yikes. I took my dog to day care and he shook at the glass door as I left. He went into playroom and ran into the 20' tunnel taking a dump dead center, then emerged and made a couple friends. By end of next visit he was star of the place, by next week he was in dog jail for having too much fun (in his eyes). The ladies fell in love with him and a nice place to be when I worked long days. Miss him.
Treadmills are amazing for super high energy dogs. I taught our australian shepherd lab mix to walk on a treadmill when she was a puppy and it helped with behavior and training so much.
This is not an idea of what I want for my dog if left at daycare. Training maybe if they don't have ANY SOCIALIZING experience but if my dog were to go to a DAYCARE I'd want them to play, interact with friendly dogs, be happy, relaxed and having a good time. Quiet time for mine is after activities, playing, chasing squirrels, wrestling, zoomies, tag etc... then everyone relaxing in their own 5×5 kennel with cot for cool down, feeding or snack and nap while I also nap.
Honestly- the dogs don’t look happy. It’s better for them to be alone or with a dog sitter. My dog doesn’t like other dogs. It’s a matter of what they get used to as a puppy.
Those dogs on the treadmill the second one from left is struggling why don’t you take them for a walk instead look for goodness sake hes or she is struggling
Happy to see that you got 4 stuff in the room instead of 43 dogs with one handler. That means you care about the safety of the dogs and coach.
Yep. I used to watch 40 to 50 by myself.
Insane and dangerous for the dogs and me

This is like the most admirable daycare I've ever seen the inside of holy crap. Ya'll are legend.
thanks
Nice! Beautiful to watch! thanks for sharing

I'd like to have a pet sitting business and take care of 29 dogs, including 9 of my own.

Such a small area for all these dogs
Four people for 29 dogs.
The hellhole I used to work at would have me in a room with 40 to 50 dogs by myself.

@@rdred8693you'd think the owners would immediately pick up on how bad it is. WHAT'S WRONG WITH PEOPLE! Thank you for doing something about it.
how long do you let the dogs walk on the treadmill. It looks like a bit much.
Hi, I've just started working at a day care. How do you bring each dog in upon arrival? Appreciate your time and all your videos! They're fantastic!

This place is too small for these many dogs.
