I agree with you Ben Affleck could've been a great Batman but thanks to Warner Brothers, and Zack Snyder obsession with turning him into the Punisher with a silly hat and not to mention Affleck's personal issues during the making of these movies its no wonder why his Batman and the DCEU as a hole stunk.
Less the Punisher, more Travis Bickle.
Godzilla mendoza called him azrael.
"Zach Snyder obsession with turning him into the Punisher with a silly hat" - oh no look, it's a Hive-Minded Drone that's trying to escape being a full on Hive-Minded Drone but realises that he'll always be a Hive-Minded Drone.
OK, let's just say we all have are own interpretations of what Ben Affleck's Batman is like
Society if people shit on Ezra’s Flash half as much as they shit on Batfleck
BC Flash isn't as popular of a character as Batman so people care less. We need an animated Flash TV show that's as good as BTAS
Plus Ezra Miller is a criminal in some of the worse ways
You mean ezflash
For me, Ben Affleck is a great choice to play an older, more experienced Batman. He has the proportions of Batman, looks like Bruce Wayne, only issue I kinda have is the voice relying too much on tech.
I think the set-up for his story is cool, but Snyder just had to screw it up.
Ngl the “Martha” bit works if he didn’t kill anyone. If Batman was making an exception because he didn’t see Superman as human because of metropolis, that would make sense. Then when the Martha bit occurs, Batman realizes that Superman has a mother, an earth mother, a human mother. Batman would realize that Superman is just as human as he is, and killing him would deprive a mother of a son. Realizing that in this moment, Superman is in fact more human than Batman, which leads to a change of heart. BUT NO!
I’d also replace MARTHA with MOTHER I don’t think the name sharing should matter he should already empathize with wanting to save a mother or not orphaning someone
Lov your rantsona
Music choice is superb as always
that's what there called. Cool
these series of movies could be used as a case study for a director's vision vs comic book fans(dawn of justice). like the fact that we're still talking about it and discussing how Zack Snyder had an "interesting" vision for characters that fell short due to a whole heap of troubles. but even though we can look back and reminisce on what could've been, im glad we've moved to hopefully greater pastures. btw love your vids 😃
facts. enjoyed all his movies but his versions of the characters arent the versions that should be in the main DC movie universe
@@Ben-zg8xk. It wasn't a total disaster, Aquaman finally managed shaking off the damage SuperFriends done to his reputation, plenty of obscure villains like mr mind, black manta, steppenwolf, king shark,Starro the conqueror get to enjoy faithful on screen recreations, and many of them came packaged with somewhat entertaining movies! So i'd say even if we hawen't exactly won, still wouldn't classify this as loss.
I feel Snyder should've made it so Joker killed Jason, and Bruce has become more violent with the branding, but crippling and paralyzing goons instead of killing.
I like Matt Reeves Batman from what I've seen, but I really hope the DCU does what this did but better. I crave for a Batman with fantastical elements and a good mix of tones.
The only thing Reeves dropped the ball on was sticking to a realistic universe and keeping his Batman out of Gunn’s DCU. With some slow build up, his Batman could’ve easily worked in a cinematic universe especially since Corenswet’s Superman is also relatively new to being Superman so the two could’ve grown together and met when they were at their peak and become the best friends they are in the comics
@@eddiediaz5518. First of all, the d.c.e.u. was dead on arrival, secondly, I really can't see Patissom's batman interacting with bat-mite. Batman is equal parts silly and serious!
11:05 we deserve a proper animated adaptation of nightfall
I feel like if you make Batman kill, you do it early in his career, like how he killed people at the beginning on his run. That could be an interesting arc.
That’s an amazing idea, and have him slowly become the more compassionate protector of Gotham with care for all life. Kind of a more extreme version of the arc in Matt Reeves’ Batman.
Yo we got the psm of batman
Here’s what’s funny: a lot of DC fans who hate Zack Snyder’s DC films and Ben Affleck’s Batman always go to him killing, yet Tom Burton, Joel Schumacher, and Christopher Nolan all had their Batman’s (Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, and Christian Bale) kill
Because most younger people had never seen the Keaton movies hell returns was just as controversial as BvS back in the day
@@CursedShinobiClown most people complaining about BVS in 2016 were 20-40, they were old enough to watch Batman and Batman returns when they came out. And literally every Batman/DC/comic fan has seen the Burton films. I also mentioned the Nolan films which finished 4 years before BVS started. I win, L + ratio Gunn head
@@bamaboyz8978 Again you’d be suprised how many younger millennials and gen z’s had never actually seen returns or forever and only played the games or watched BTAS and dark knight at least from personal experience. Returns was criticized to hell and back when it released. Now sure it was mainly cause it was too dark but Tim went on record admitting it has no accuracy at all he made a Tim burton movie not a Batman movie. I actually like returns but i in no way real see it as a good Batman movie. There’s a reason people didn’t complain and that’s cause the perception of Batman was different back then and most people saw it when they were young and forgot hell why else did everyone forgot. In the 00s people had more accurate depictions of the character in media like the Arkham games and the shows changing the perception of the character so of course the reaction is gonna be different it’s a different world a different time a different context. Hell as dumb as the Ra’s death in begins was people are more willing to defend that then him shooting people because context matters now as for TDK… yeah I actually agree with you I dunno why people defend that
Yup which is why on Paper Batman going from that to the Comics "I don't kill" is an interesting direction IMO its just that studio medling and poor execution doomed it to be devicice
People aren't very good at expressing their points or may latch on to a good sounding viewpoint.
Batman is explicitly stated to kill in Batman v Superman, and Zach Synder keeps saying so as well. Batman killing was a plot point in the movie and was in the meta discussion of he movie making it front and center in any discussion involving the movie.
For the other cinematic Batman's him killing was either the assumed outcome or treated within the medium as Batman not killing.
My point is people will answer "No" to Batman killing on a test, but if you muddy it up or don't directly say he killed, they may forget about it. So their issue is Batman killed, but most people only noticed because it was so explicit in dialog.
I like Ben Affleck as Batman and he is my favorite Batman if he didn’t kill , have good writing ✍️ and have a solo movie he would’ve been the greatest (live action) actor to play Batman
2:49 superman regretted killing zod, he try’s not to.
How could Superman not choke Zod out and imprison him in the Kryptonian ship set to Krypton atmospherics? If he really wanted to avoid killing him so bad this would have been an option to consider since he already had him in a chokehold. Then there’s the fact that the family could have easily escaped, Superman was responsible for plenty of casualties himself since he brought down a ship in the middle of the city that was obviously going to crash into buildings on the way down, he dodged out of the way of a fuel truck allowing it to crash into a parking garage, and I could go on.
@@StopCallingMeShirley1180 I’m sorry, he didn’t take his time to think about those situations it was a race against Time. I can see and try to atone for what he’s done.
3:35 AH, ERZA MILLER!! (me running away)
7:40 that actually pisses me off. If he broke his number one rule, why wasn’t his priority to FIND THE JOKER AND SNAP HIS STUPID NECK!!?
Love the ace attorney and more importantly shovel knight music, wish more people would use it as background music. Great vid too as always.
4:23 I love this part
Remember injustice is the thing that popularized evil superman which wasn't new even then
Nice Video S.A, and your UA-cam channel mascot is perfection (I'm personally jealous)
Who's here after Zack Snyder's Joe Rogan Interview?
The entire DCEU in general was just wasted potential brought about by DC and Warner Bros trying desperately to catch up with Marvel leading to no one having a clue about what direction they should go in. It's pretty telling of how much trouble the DCEU was in when they decided to give James Gunn full control after he gave us one really good movie and a spin-off show.
Yeah
It's like a more messy version of the star wars sequels
Where you can tell they had no idea where the fuck things were going long term
But at least that was 3 movies
3:54 that was so disrespectful
The choice behind Dick Grayson die is to show how isolated Batman is here. He doesn’t even have Nightwing, even working apart from him, he only has Alfred.
I feel like something thats not brought up enough when it comes to Batfleck is that he was HEAVILY inspired by Teh Dark Knight Returns, and while i dont think Snyder quite GETS the point of the comic, it's apparent that he wanted to do a movie based on that from the get-go (and will apparently only return for an adaptation of it) so i feel a good amount of Batflecks problems could've been solved by simply having a TDKR movie BEFORE jumping to BvS, but he wasn't allowed to, so he just Frankensteined as much of it as he could, leading to... mixed results.
Man is flexing how he got the mafex 2.0 batfleck early
The whole “Batman’s character arc is learning to become a hero again and stop killing” was made up by the fans
Thats actually half and half, Snyder depicts him basically Killing and Brutalizing Criminals which is out of character for him but when asked in interviews he actively avoids it and says batman instead just destructively incapacitates them,
I guess the Studio was forcing his mouth to say Bats doesn't kill in his movie, but its blatantly obvious that Batman's Arc is him finding his humanity and not killing anymore.
Hearing Batman say fuck is one of the most unexpectedly funny things I've ever heard.
I didn't think Ben Affleck's Batman was that bad. The story, sure it was bad, but the Batman look, acting, and fight scenes is where he shines. It's like a live action Arkham Batman if you ignore the story. Given a better script and storytelling, it would have been a good movie.
I feel exactly the same as you.
It’s not affleck himself it’s the writing
Love u batspector keep up the great work
I think the main issue with batffleck is the amount of time, all his emotion is based on words not facts we could see, if snyder would make new batman movies with death in family and for example the killing joek adaptation before the dawn of justice all batman character would have been better and the viewer could realate more on why he is like this
Great vid pal, keep it up
Your pfp goes hard btw
the png is nice
Just by the thumbnail text, I agree. A Batman that lost his way is an interesting concept. His warehouse fight scene is incredible though.
REALLY I SAW IT BACK TO BACK WHEN IT WAS FIRST RELEASED
I think that Ben Affleck’s Batman would have been far better if he had just killed the Joker in the past and maybe spared random henchmen’s lives.
7:34 to be fair D would've been a logical step
Welp… The comment section is certainly gonna be interesting.
fr
10:11 I’d like him to adapt one of the comic storyline, or even adapt son of Batman
Imagine if they just went with Jason Todd. Imagine if (let's just say if Batfleck had a trilogy and had no kill rule at the start of the universe) that Batfleck comes face to face with his greatest failure, trying not to cross the line and decides the fate of Joker (that isn't Jared Leto). That would be more interesting than just having him kill people all the time.
Could you ever do a video on the Batman 2004 animated series?
Batfleck never killed before superman’s arrival, this was shown in suicide squad where his Batmobile has no guns attached and it still has two seats. His “killing” arc only lasted a couple of weeks if that, Alfred calls him out on his BS, the common folk call him out on his new aggression (“there’s a new kind of mean in him”) the film does not glorify his killing and calls it out multiple times.
Im glad they didnt make deathstroke a batman villain on screen cause thats dumb as hell stealing judas contract and knight fall from bane
You always cook dude.
For the record, your analysis is way better than cosmo'.
I can buy this is owlman more than batman
Bro I need a video about why you hate the Injustice series.
I personally really like it!
i'd rather die
Character assassination
I really wish they went with a solo movie for Batfleck after Man of Steel which leads up to a Batman/Superman team-up movie instead of just jumping into Batman v. Superman.
Les goooo
Are you gonna do a video on Injustice someday or something?
3:16 OH PLEASE TALK ABOUT INNUSTICE IT WAS MY BROW INTRODUCTION TO DC AND NOW HES SCARED 😢😢
hey man i would like to ask how is your favorite flash and batgirl mine are Barry Allen and Barbara Gordon
9:04 💀
My real only problem with bataffleck is not killing the joker, but his character arc is interesting, someone who lost everthing and loses his own humanity, its not about bruce wearing the batman mask, its about batman wearing bruce mask, he entered so much into darkness, that he even cant see his owns flaws
I especially hate the quote “The world only makes sense when you force it to.” That’s not Batman. That’s a Bat Punisher wannabe.
u gotta make a vid abt batman beyond plea.s.ee.pl.pls.p
12:50 no it’s George Clooney, and for superman it’s Nicolas Cage
finally
Does batspecter like mafex chat?
A question for the commentors, does Batman perform ANY lethal blows in the latest live action film? A friend of mine had seen it but said that "who cares? I think that anyone could kill if pushed far enough, so its totally fine" which told me all I needed to know, and that I should just skip the movie. The moment may not have been explicitly stating that he kills someone but that he stabs someone in the face, emphasizing the writing team's supreme disinterest in the thing I love most about his character. It has been awhile so I am looking for some input on this.
are you talking about battinson??? because if so then.. absolutely not, he doesn’t kill a single person. so it gets the batspecter seal of approval
"How many good guys are left? How many stayed that way" has the same vibe "I let you stay here for free and I don't even charge you rent"
It is ironic Bruce tells Alfred this even though Alfred still a good guy lol The writers have no self awareness
Is this your gameplay?
I like Injustice, I don’t think it has a good story but I like it
1:52 Jason Todd works better.
why'd you sound so much like atreus (young..er) at 5:50 lol
actually originally bruce and lois whould have a child together
12:32 I do
Not that I like it I am kinda of neutral about the dead robin being dick however I think the point might have been about if it was Jason you’ll just be waiting for red hood to appear you’ll just expect him to appear instead of feeling anything about him being dead ,however since it’s dick you’ll be just confused whether he comes back as something or he’s just dead dead ,whether they delivered the point well or not it’s up to you
Edit :finished the video ,great video ,great points ,agreed with everything 👏

COLLAB WITH PSM PLEASE IT WOULD BE SO AWESOME IT WOULD BE SO COOL
kai & i are mutuals and i recently appeared on his doctors without borders charity stream, a collab’s definitely been brought up but it’ll probably be a while before that happens!
@@TheBatspecter sick i gotta watch that!
Injustice would of been good if they didn't kill off Polka dot man
Just go watch the animated dark knight returns movie, it’s so much better.
GOAT BATFFLECK
Batman V. Superman, the movie that caused an unintentional Domino Effect on this franchise’s fate for the next decade
Batfleck was a terrible idea cool batman suit but plot and story was ass
“Teams up with Zionist scuba-“
I like you 😀
all of the above except Margaret Thatcher
you should collab with implicitly pretentious
Am I the only one that doesn't like the batfleck suit?
I like the suit, I take issue with the l cowel, it makes Affleck’s head look too fat, and the ears are too short to be a bat. (I’m also not a big fan of when the cape only hangs off Batman’s back and not around his whole body like in ‘89 or BTAS, but I understand why it’s done.)
Honestly Ben affleck’s performance just bores the hell outta me.
Take away the warehouse fight scene and Afflecks Batman wouldnt even be half as popular as he is
Batman does not kill the joker because he is Robin
Where the hell do you get this shit from?
@@dumi_chenu3730film theory made a theory about that a while ago
@@kennyobi9871 I know but that theory is just wrong(I miss matpat tho)
BATMAN WILL NEVER KILL THE JOKER THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES LEFT THAT STILL IS MAKING MONEY FOR DC PLUS DC FANS WILL REVOLT IF THAT EVER HAPPENED
Injustice hater? Based on
Character assassination
Okay so
I believe a batfleck to movie could have worked set before suicida squad and justice league
But as a adaption as mask of phantasm
The whole movie would be just him trying to move on and change from his violent ways and try to be a better Batman and a better protector for Gotham
phantasm would represent what Batman once was and Bruce would have to both confront his past and see how far he fell when he started to take lives and show more development of how this Bruce would come back to the light
The movie would end with Bruce starting to look for the league with Diana
Thats my idea
Cause I feel like a having him fight deathstorke/Slade works better as a sequel story with some more Arkham villians and set up the jonker for last movie before what would be the final justice league Snyder wanted to do
he wasn't going to be injustice evil he was under Darksides control evil
they weren't nightmares this really was flash that came back in time from ZSJLS epilogue
snyder batman is connected to every single alternate reality that happened after lois died
Imagine thinking that cosmonaut is good at critical thinking and his opinions mean anything 💀
Affleck gives us the best comic book live action Batman imo and he's still my favorite overall
I’d disagree besides his looks he acts almost nothing like normal Batman he’s more like frank miller Batman which is fine if it was executed right
He's more like Moon Knight, really. No strict "no-kill" rule.
Comic batman isn’t a psychopath
The Batman 2022 movie is really not that good.
Batfleck was the best Batman in live action because he's the only one who captured the physicality of comic book Batman, none of the live action depictions have been as brutal, and i think that the idea of making Batman "more grounded" is ridiculous, Batman is ridiculous as a super hero so having studios so desperately dedicated to have him being "taken serious" reeks of insecurity and inferiority complex.
All actors in Batman movies were lethal btw, except for Pattinson.
Yeah that’s why I always say that affleck is carried by the fight scenes lol. If it weren’t for the warehouse battle no one would be comparing him to Robert or Bale it’s why a common criticism affleck fans have for Bale is “the fight scenes are bad”.
@@MILDMONSTER1234
That's not true, Batfleck's introduction grabbing onto walls is straight out of comic books, his Bruce Wayne's LOOKS is by far the best, Ben Affleck looks like a true aristocrat when he's wearing a suit in a way that Bale and Keaton dont, Pattinson will NEVER look like Bruce Wayne, that was a terrible miscast, Pattinson would've been perfect as Nightwing, specially with the hairstyle he rocked for the 2022 movie, but as Bruce Wayne? he was 36 when the movie came out and he still looked 19-24.
Look man, i respect your opinion, but every single Batman live action portrayal has been "grounded" and "serious" for the last 35 years, the one time we got a Batman that at least a tenth of the stuff we read on the comics....yeah im not about to knock him down.
Bro at least the batman has good writing
D
bro i 100% dont like batfleck but injustice commeee onnnnn mannnnnnnnnn
It’s literally just character assassination and ruins peoples perception on characters
@@ToBy11334 Yes while I do agree in some points it's shite like for the robins but other than that it's pretty good especially tom Taylors ones
@@salmanali-zg9gk what about Wonder Woman or how people now think if Lois lane dies superman goes psycho
The funny thing bout Affleck's Batman is that he's almost spot on for Azriel, just without the religious angle.
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh
Drives me crazy that in BvS the kryptostaff doesn't glow all the time. It just stops after Batman throws it away and I have never seen anyone talk about this. Dunno why it bugs me so much but I feel better now.
BONUS: In JOKER his name is Arthur Fleck... A. Fleck
...Affleck! He's named after Batman. What a ... joke?!?
i respectfully disagree
I feel like every superhero fan somehow became an expert film critic and everything needs to make perfect sense all the time. I think we expect too much out of movies where people dress like animals and beat criminals with their bare hands or can do some other nonsense power. Maybe we just need to be more casual about these movies.
Most people don’t ask for perfect films. Most beloved superhero movies have quite a few flaws, just look at the dark knight trilogy. We just want the characters to be properly represented. Then dressing in costumes doesn’t make them any less valid or valuable than any other fictional character.
@@peanutbutter6720 whatever.
Like mr filmento said, their entire conflict in the movie is about batman hating an uncontrollable variable in his equation of crime stopping, and superman not liking crazy killer zealots! Right?
Idk Affleck is my favorite and I wish he got a decent solo movie.
The warehouse scene alone is the best scene in the verse
His costume is my favorite
Him killing people makes sense and it’s how he should be. Everyone talks about morals but he easily could have became a cop/fbi agent.
But no he is using daddy’s money to run around in bat themed tights to beat up criminals. He is mentally unstable at best and him having the no killing moral makes no sense. He is a lunatic at heart
And honestly hot take
Bale was kinda trash with his voice and bulky ass costume design not to mention his mask. Afflecks mask matches his out fit and the Bulk just looks like mass. It works.
Bro one of Batmans defining character traits is that he doesn’t kill you know nothing about batman
So basically your a Punisher fan more so then Batman fan lol.
