Dude, the director has stepped down on that movie until Robert Patterson's The Batman was made. There's no going back on this so you may want to accept reality of it
I get what they were going for with the Martha scene, but it was executed so poorly from a writing standpoint. They wanted to make Batman find his humanity again, and to see Superman as a man not an alien, but they wrote it in a way that opened the door for people to interpret it as "oh their mothers have the same name" instead of "oh Superman begging to save his mothers life not only made batman see his humanity, but helped him find his own."
I was just talking with a friend about that scene again (tangent off something else) and basically it makes no sense for Supes to not just say "please save my mom" - it basically just skips the "but Martha is my mom's name" moment and doesn't change much else (Lois does reveal she's Clark's mom immediately after), but it would at least flow better and seems more like something a person in that situation would say.
@@TuaronThis would make a lot more sense, from a writing standpoint and an in-universe standpoint. Why does Superman call his mom by her first name anyway?
In the concept art for Zack Snyder's Justice League 2 and 3, dated back to like 2016 - were designs for the injustice league. Each villain's character design had the title of the movie they were supposed to come from. Black Manta (Aquaman.) Captain Cold (The Flash.) The Riddler design said (The Batman) in parenthesis. So The Riddler would've been a massive baddie in Ben Affleck's film.
@@curtissmith8152 Rumor has it Leonardo DiCaprio would've cameo'd as the Riddler, kind of a mixture between the two, where he's not as campy, but not necesarily the Zodiac killer type either, just a pure insane man, before solving the anti life equation.

Having just rewatched the Ultimate cut of BvS as well as Snyder's Justice League, I feel like the whole DCEU could've been saved with one thing. Time. Snyder's justice league is the best movie in the series imo. It's essentially two movies though and even with the near 3 hour runtime of BvS ultimate cut, it still feels like it doesn't fully expand on what it wants to do. If Snyder was given the proper amount of time to flesh out a basic story arc (even if other directors/writers took over later and changed some aspects) that takes place over several different movies I think the reboot would not have happened. The whole thing is really sad. Apparently Gunn is going to release David Ayer's original suicide squad, so maybe will get some more Batfleck moments. Fingers Crossed.
I never saw the theatrical cut and when I saw what turned out to be that extended cut, I didn’t understand the backlash it got. Also The Batman is a fantastic film and great iteration of the character, so I’m glad we still got something good., Great job on the videos, you’re quickly becoming one of my favorite channels on here!
I read awhile back that Ben Affleck's Batman movie was supposed to have Batman and Batgirl fighting Deathstroke though the streets of Gotham. That would have been awesome! I don't think it was gonna be Barbara Gordon though. Pretty sure it was gonna be Cassandra Cain. That would have made perfect sense too, because if Joker had already killed Robin, he's already paralyzed Barbara as well. In the comics, the first time we see Barbara in the wheelchair was at Jason Todd's funeral. Affleck's version of Batman was placed at the perfect point in the characters canon to adapt some great stories. New Earth Batman post-The Killing Joke and Death In The Family was some pretty good shit, man. A Lonely Place of Dying, Knightfall, Knightquest, Knightsend, Zero Hour, New World Order, Cataclysm, No Man's Land, Tower of Babel, Hush, War Games, City of Crime, Under The Red Hood, Son of The Demon, Final Crisis, Battle For The Cowl, Blackest Knight, The Return of Bruce Wayne... So many possibilities. We could have gotten 10 or 15 years worth of great movies just centered around Batman. We can't have nice things though. Let's do some fan casting! Who would you guys cast in the roles of Batfleck's Bat Family? Snyder mentioned he would have cast Carla Gugino as Selina Kyle so Catwoman has "already been cast", lol. Here's my list for the rest. Finn Wittrock as Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing Evan Rachel Wood as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl/Oracle Dylan O'Brien as Jason Todd/Robin/Red Hood Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Cassandra Cain/Batgirl/Black Bat Chandler Riggs as Tim Drake/Robin/Red Robin Danika Yarosh as Stephanie Brown/Spoiler/Robin/Batgirl I don't really any child actors for Damian Wayne, so that would be a search.
I liken Ben Affleck as Batman to Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. Both were well suited for the role, clearly passionate about it and did a good job. The writing and direction however never measured up to the effort they were putting in so they both unfairly are remembered as lesser tenure's for their respective characters.
Brosnan is remembered for turning the series around and introducing Bond to a whole new generation. Only his last film sucked. Bond was dead in the water before Goldeneye.
Damn... and I remember how people heard for the first time Affleck was chosen to play Batman in BvS. Everybody was losing theyre minds and it turned out he was the best thing DCU had in their hands.
I’m sure we’ll get a Batman Siege on Arkham movie someday, but Ben Affleck’s direction and fighting style would of made it something special… maybe we’ll see it someday, but at least we got The Batman, that’s good too.
To be clear, ben hated the experience with reshoots with joss Whedon. He gets along well with zach snyder. The main reason why he accepted the role is because he liked Snyder's take on the character.
He never said he had a problem with Zack Snyder. He said the production was a nightmare. Probably because of Ray Fisher, Geoff Johns, and the studio executive branch.
@@shadowvesselThat is not what Ben said. He's made it abundantly clear several times that he loved working with Zack on both BvS and the ORIGINAL ZSJL. Furthermore, he showed full loyalty and support IN PERSON, to Zack's recent "Full Circle" event. Ray Fisher was there too. AND Ben also made it clear that he refused to join Gunn's new DCU, stating that he'd return to film with Zack, but not anything in Gunn's rebooted universe.
I’ll die on this hill when I say that Ben Affleck embodied everything Batman/Bruce Wayne should have been…Just look at him, the suit in BVS is to this day the best there’s ever been, When he is Bruce Wayne he feels like Bruce Wayne, When he’s batman he feels like batman…But unfortunately events and circumstances prevented us from seeing what he could’ve been in his own movie.
I wish we got that Batfleck movie. Apart from the killing and the having been on the verge of losing to Deathstroke and Batgirl comes in to save him, it sounded epic.
He was one of the best parts of BvS I actually enjoyed him as Batman. And combined w the cinematography and style of Snyder movies, it could’ve been a crazy movie. Mad disappointed the batfleck movie didn’t go through. Hopefully they reconsider sometime in the future.
Probably my favorite scene in any live action Batman movie was from Batman vs. Superman when he rescued Superman's mom from the warehouse. That was the kind of fight scene I had been waiting to see since the very first Batman movie back in 1989. So I was really stoked for a solo Bat-Fleck movie that featured more of that kind of action. It's a real bummer it never happened. The Nolan/Snyder DCEU just never seemed to click with the public. Hopefully James Gunn can rescue the brand and finally bring fans the kind of DC movies they're hoping for. We'll see.

Still to me the most accurate portrait of the batman/Bruce Wayne character. Bad movies of course and a lot of bad decisions but that moment in the museum or whatever it was where himself and superman met first was perfect. the rage in his eyes, like how Bruce Wayne is the mask and batman is the true identity. Still gives me chills every time.

Dude, the director has stepped down on that movie until Robert Patterson's The Batman was made. There's no going back on this so you may want to accept reality of it
#MakeTheBatfleckMovie
I still would've loved to see Ben Affleck's Batman movie happen.
Agreed.
Why does Superman call his mom by her first name anyway?
it's literally just a simple write up of "please save my mom" and it would've been fine, who tf calls their mom by their first name?
In the concept art for Zack Snyder's Justice League 2 and 3, dated back to like 2016 - were designs for the injustice league. Each villain's character design had the title of the movie they were supposed to come from. Black Manta (Aquaman.) Captain Cold (The Flash.) The Riddler design said (The Batman) in parenthesis. So The Riddler would've been a massive baddie in Ben Affleck's film.
That’s why I threw Jim Carrey into the vid as an Easter egg. Nice catch!
A footloose Riddler or the Paul Dano/Zodiac/ Revenge seeking faux riddler.
@@curtissmith8152 Rumor has it Leonardo DiCaprio would've cameo'd as the Riddler, kind of a mixture between the two, where he's not as campy, but not necesarily the Zodiac killer type either, just a pure insane man, before solving the anti life equation.
I would have rather seen a Gorilla Grodd movie rather than Captain Cold.
I wanted this movie to happen so badly...or even better a HBO MAX series...or have the movie then follow it up with the HBO Max series, either way this movie would have been incredible I enjoyed Affleck's Batman and was so looking foward to a full length movie in this style , who knows what could have been
ben doesn’t want to play batman anymore so that won’t be happening
ya I know. sucks but one can dream , dream the dream dreamers dream on dreamy nights 🌙 ✨️
@@nulltergeisthe didn’t want to play Batman anymore but shot scenes for the flash, aquaman 2 and voice overs for blue beetle. James Gunn ran him out and cut those scenes short and removed Cavill. James Gunn is a narcissist and must be stopped.
@@freshparkfilms this would have worked better as a nightwing movie in my opinion
@user-ho3uw2xb5q that would've been sick! Nightwing aka Dick is way over due for an honest film/TV adaptation
It was later I learned what was cut from the theatrical cut, and what a difference it makes.
Snyder got way more flack than he deserved. Imho he made awesome movies, when it’s actually his version.
@@bagoftrix I was someone who gave him a lot of that flack and I regret it. Personally I’m not a fan of man of steel but I REALLY liked his cut of Justice league.
Yeah, the one thing that would’ve saved it is if Warner Bros. Let the Snyder family properly grieve and waited for them
I'm just glad James Gunn is taking inspiration from JLU and the animated series stuff and incorporating it into his movies JLU and the Timmverse are great sources to pull from
@@pink-a-palouza7888if they had waited for him to grieve over his daughter we still could be waiting for justice league cause there was no guarantee that Snyder would’ve returned to finish the movie and I think Warner knew this but before that event happened to Snyder they had already said no to his plan of a 2 part justice league story making him condense his plan from 2 movies into one so if we actually got a finish ready for theaters version of his movie I bet people would’ve hated it just like the others but ultimately what we got was his rough cut put through final production with some new scenes here and there
Affleck's The Batman would have been something so different and looks pretty good. Maybe we'll see someone like it later on.
Also now I really want to see a David Fincher Batman movie after learning he inspired Affleck and Reeves' versions.
bruh the david fincher batman movie already exists it’s called The Batman with pattinson
@@anthonyzentefis6150 agreed. Fincher would do a great job directing a Batman script, but Fincher following Reeves who was inspired to follow Fincher’s form and style is a bit too much of a snake eating its own tail
Wait 15 years and you will probably see me make that movie a reality. But for now all we have is another grounded universe and batman doesn't even fight his villains there and a batman and damian movie that will have gunns humor and one liners like keaton in the flash.
@@zenquantum1246 Fincher would do something different I'm sure lol...great directors like him and Reeves can adapt
@@LeSteeler very true. The assembly cut of Alien 3 shows just how good Fincher is at adapting. He’s a perfectionist even when things are failing all around him
Loved Batfleck. He looked the most like BTAS Batman and Bruce Wayne that i grew up with. Really would have loved to see it
On the one hand this is one of the saddest cancelled films of the last few years for me, I like Ben Affleck as Batman and I think this concept sounds amazing. But on the other hand, It may have been for the best, Warner Bros and DC were not doing so well at the time and it may have been botched by interference. Also The Batman is a fantastic film and great iteration of the character, so I’m glad we still got something good., Great job on the videos, you’re quickly becoming one of my favorite channels on here!
Keep up the great work Brodie! Love watching your content and how well put together they are you really deserve a lot more subs! 🙏🏻
Thanks!!! I really appreciate that!
The rate of quality content this channel is uploading every week deserves attention. Hope you hit 100k very soon
I appreciate that! Thank you!
Love your videos! This film would've been great!
Thanks so much!
No problem!
Would have been awesome! Can’t get enough of Batman!
Great work on your video, keep it up!👍🏼
Thanks a ton!
Great video! Thank you for explaining a lot of what’s already been reported, it was done well 👏🏾
Thanks!
Affleck is the most underrated Batman, for sure and he looked GREAT in the suit. I would’ve loved to have seen his Batman go up against Deathstroke!
I'd argue he's even a better Bruce Wayne, he reminds me of Kevin Conroy's Batman
@@Andrew-po8nt lol Kevin conroy batman was a peado sex groomer. Can blame that peado hack bruce tim for that
I read awhile back that Ben Affleck's Batman movie was supposed to have Batman and Batgirl fighting Deathstroke though the streets of Gotham.
Finn Wittrock as Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing
Evan Rachel Wood as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl/Oracle
Dylan O'Brien as Jason Todd/Robin/Red Hood
Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Cassandra Cain/Batgirl/Black Bat
Chandler Riggs as Tim Drake/Robin/Red Robin
Danika Yarosh as Stephanie Brown/Spoiler/Robin/Batgirl
I don't really any child actors for Damian Wayne, so that would be a search.
2:08 Handsomeness overload in one frame 🥰 I do remember this becoming the Hello Darkness meme though.😆
Goldeneye is solid! But ya his other 3 films were weak.
Brosnan is remembered for turning the series around and introducing Bond to a whole new generation. Only his last film sucked. Bond was dead in the water before Goldeneye.
@@Bulletsandblockbustersyou should do goldeneye down the road
I really hope you are getting what you want out of making these videos (money, fame,, purpose) because they are fantastic! Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Glad you’re digging them.
Damn... and I remember how people heard for the first time Affleck was chosen to play Batman in BvS. Everybody was losing theyre minds and it turned out he was the best thing DCU had in their hands.
That happens. It happened with Keaton and Pattison. Hell I was skeptical of Batfleck, but now I think he was the best Batman we've had.
I’m sure we’ll get a Batman Siege on Arkham movie someday, but Ben Affleck’s direction and fighting style would of made it something special… maybe we’ll see it someday, but at least we got The Batman, that’s good too.
Would be great and agreed. At least reeves film was solid.
Great video man!! Love watching these!!
Thanks! Glad you like them!
This made me really want to play the Arkham games and watch The Flash. Thanks!
Ben Affleck has been in the worst batman related movies but has the best action scenes and was an awesome batman.
One of the saddest things of my life is that I’ll never get to see a stand alone Ben Afleck Batman movie.
The Batman with Pattinson and Reeves was a breath of fresh air though...maybe they could turn this concept with Affleck into a comic
@@AztecUnshaven Again...he never said he had a problem with Zack and I've never heard Ben say anything about Fisher
It's one of Warner Brothers biggest mistakes was not letting Ben Affleck cook and make that Batman movie the way he wanted it.
Thanks for this in depth video ❤❤ I will always wish to see more of Ben's Batman but I will say his Batman is honestly my favorite live-action one😊🖤
Except he kills
I wish we got that Batfleck movie. Apart from the killing and the having been on the verge of losing to Deathstroke and Batgirl comes in to save him, it sounded epic.
Batfleck in BvS is a jaded Batman “how many good guys are left, how many stayed that way?” He stopped killing after BvS
While I enjoyed Matt Reeves film, I would like to see Ben Affleck's movie
So disappointing that this never got made. To me it had so much potential to be fantastic, and a lot better than the film we got from Matt Reeves.
He was one of the best parts of BvS I actually enjoyed him as Batman. And combined w the cinematography and style of Snyder movies, it could’ve been a crazy movie. Mad disappointed the batfleck movie didn’t go through. Hopefully they reconsider sometime in the future.
BVS = Catwoman 2004
Still no one perfected Bruce Wayne and Batman the way Affleck did. The costume design is epic. Acting is epic. HE AS BATMAN is PERFECTION ITSELF.
Yeah if somebody else worked on the movie he would be perfect
I pressed play because I understand & agree with the motivations behind the making of this video. 💯
Ben Affleck had so much wasted potential
Agreed. While the rest of the internet was pooping their diapers over his casting, I was quite enthusiastic about it.
Great stuff man. I love how much research you obviously put into your work. A lot of integrity and always entertaining.
We'll see.
This would have been the BEST Batman movie EVER! Imagine Ben Afflec's Batman vs Deathstroke in a live action! we soooo missed out on what could have been such an amazing film!
Off topic but I never heard of " The Game" but it sounds amazing. Now I need to see it. Also it is a shame we never saw Ben's Batman movie come to fruition
It’s good. I specifically didn’t spoil it in case anyone hadnt seen it.
"the game" is pretty awesome. It's one of those movies that you want to watch again, after seeing it once
Ben Affleck is a really strong person. Going through all the bs he had to endure. ♥️ Most people have no insight to what it's like. - he really is Batman
While the Snyderverse was problematic, this script layout was pretty good & deserved a chance
Excellent work on this
Thnx
I think this would of been the greatest batman ever I hate WB & Gunn not wanting to do this
BUT HEY YOU NEVER SAY NEVER
ANYTHING POSSIBLE
I genuinely think that Gunn will bring us something even better. The true problem with the DCEU was it all being based off of a failed film for its base. Compare how people viewed MoS and BvS with how people viewed Iron Man and Captain America. The base didn't work, so the films around it failed. The best DCEU movie is The Suicide Squad. Gunn is the reason for that.
Gunn didnt make the decision to cancel this film. This was long before he came in the DC Universe
Affleck doesn’t want to make it though. Gunn needs to reboot to fix the mess that is DC right now.
It would have been fun to see foul character that are basically the same. Keep the videos coming, good job 👍🏻
I actually loved Ben's Batman, he felt very different from others, I would've really loved to see his solo movie.
the movie would have been a R-rated brutal but at the same time light... who knows... it would be interesting none the less..
Great video!
Love this what Could Have Been series, can't wait for more videos learning about cancelled movies
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Plenty more to come.
1:35 Top Left Corner…
Fr wtf was that? 💀 😂
I'm crying my eyes out. Batman is my favorite character of all time! Theres a lot of Batman films, but sadly, all the same villains a million times. To see Batman fight a NEW villain and 1 that's similar to him would have been the greatest thing to see in a theater for me. Damn Justice League ruining Affleck and The Batman film I wanted and needed to see.
Next vid should be- What Could have Been:Man of Steel 2
It’s on the to do list if there’s enough info out there but I think they promptly decided to do bvs early into development.
This movie sounds like the dream movie for Batman fans, if it had worked as well as planned, could’ve been spectacular
As much as I would have liked to see Cavill and Affleck continue with Superman and Batman, I don't want them to come back. For their own sanity.
This movie comes across my mind from time to time and gets me in a depression. Probably the biggest what if in cinema history imo
Ben Affleck’s movie does sound very interesting but I am happy we have Matt Reeves’ version. That is my favorite Batman movie and Ben seems to be in a much better place making acclaimed movies like Air.
I completely avoided all the trailers and spoilers and drama around the flash. I got up from my seat so happy to see Ben as Batman one more time.
A Batman movie based on a David Fincher classic...not Se7en but The Game. Warner Bros. at least know to take inspiration from good sources.
Certainly a shame that we’ll never get to see this movie. I agree with everyone who says that WB should make an animated adaptation. It sounds like an incredible story. I thank Ben Affleck for everything he did in the DCEU, even though he never got a solo film.
Had it not been for Ben Affleck's alcoholism, his stints in rehab and his divorce from Jennifer Garner, this would have been an awesome film to watch.
Ya I kind of feel bad for the guy
I agree with that
Dont forget the reshoots he had to endure with Justice League
💯
8:35 Affleck was talking justice league reshoot with joss whedon as "bad taste in mouth" not snyder.
What could have Ben
Great vid would have been cool to see batfleck have his own film.
Thnx

Agreed. It’s hard to build a foundation on mud.
This sounds absolutely amazing. Such a shame we never got it.
Matt Reeves Batman did not make one billion at the box office but I will bet that Ben Affleck Batman movie would’ve made one billion at the box office easily
A solo affleck bat film would have been so amazing. WB has dropped the ball on a lot of projects. We really missed on what could have been. Plus the knightmare scenes were awesome
While I do think Ben Affleck did deserve a Batman movie of his own, I do ultimately think it was for the best that the project didn't happen, as it was eventually reworked into giving us one of the best live action Batman movies ever made, i.e. Matt Reeves The Batman (2022). Besides Affleck has clearly moved on from playing Batman and will no longer be a part of these movies as the whole DCEU has ended qnd now we look forward to James Gunn's promising DCU reboot
Yeah, I dug reeves’ film too. Curious what he has in store for the sequel.
I hope something magical happens and we get to hear that Ben returns as the batman, back with his dedicated script. That would definitely be magical to hear. 🤞
Aflleck was the bomb in The Flash though.
Snoogins.
I wasn’t much of a Batman fan until I saw BvS. Ben Affleck will always be my favorite Batman. I wish they casted William Dafoe as the joker
seems much better than overrated matt reeves' shitshow
Still to me the most accurate portrait of the batman/Bruce Wayne character. Bad movies of course and a lot of bad decisions but that moment in the museum or whatever it was where himself and superman met first was perfect. the rage in his eyes, like how Bruce Wayne is the mask and batman is the true identity. Still gives me chills every time.
I just can't deal with them small a** Batman ears. Save that s*** for Catman, goddamn. Batfleck would be so much cooler with longer ears.
Facts
I really hope we see this one day. I think it would’ve been amazing.
Too bad, this sounds infinitely better than the trash that was Robert Pattinson's Batman. I honestly don't understand why people like that movie so much.
100%
Things some people STILL wouldn't acknowledge.
Ben Affleck The Best Batman.
Ruthless
Brutal
Veteran
At first, i was not big on Affleck playing Batman. Then when I saw him….OMG…was i wrong. Ben Affleck is Batman and is a shame we won’t get more of him in that role. A real shame to all the fans. Thank you Ben for your time and efforts. You did an amazing job and you made a lot of people very happy. All the best
Great video! Such a interesting premise for a Batman film. I'm in two minds about if I would actually liked it had it been produced 🤷♂️
Sometimes, we people forgets that these actors/actresses are people too. Tho in my heart i still yearn for that solo batman film, ben had given us more than enough playing the cape crusader.
1:34 how is that image still on UA-cam
I really never understood why people didn't like BvS, it was really a pretty good movie. The fight scene alone was epic and made the whole film worth watching.
