As I sit in the airport waiting for my flight home from MAGFest 2023, I’m watching this spectacular video in awe!!! I _love_ this video from start to finish; your video presentation is simple, yet supremely effective! Gotta give a massive shoutout to Kali Lyon for the incredible artwork on this, and I couldn't agree more that this was no easy task, so very well done!! 🙌 The whole concept of the video is literally genius - taking backgrounds from all the Miitopia worlds as a progression through the game, & the curvature of the DJ booth to show it's literally on top of the world - once again, phenomenal!! I'm super impressed with all the vibrant colors here, especially the lowering of the background around 1:10 to match the attenuated energy. Plus, the integration of our logos front & center, and those electric bolts coming out of the speakers: absolute perfection!! 🔊 I _could_ write another five paragraphs on the music, but you already know how incredible your sections of this song are from my perspective! 😎 Thank you immensely for what you stated in your description; while I have never expected to be considered a "hero" to someone, it is exceptionally humbling to hear someone would ever think of me as one. Thank you for the opportunity to work with you; and again I apologize for my late comment here! I appreciate your work ethic & am super excited to hear all your upcoming music in 2023! 💫
Man, Player2, thank you so much for your heartwarming and gracious words! I feel even _more_ honored to have had this debut during MAGFest, and I needn't ask if you and others in the VGM community had an awesome time, because I just know it was fantastic, and I'll definitely be there next year! I really appreciate your taking the time to watch the video and comment at length, especially after what I'm sure was an intense weekend. Thanks so much for the kind acknowledgment of Kali's artwork! In addition to creating so many different scenes and video elements, she also measured and scaled the whole dual-layered world of Miitopia so it'd fit into the video like a glove! Being able to work so closely with her to plan out video ideas has been invaluable, and I'm deeply grateful for her unwavering support with each remix video. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the concept and execution of the video, and thanks for saying so! ^_^ Indeed, there were multiple ideas at play here, having the scenes rotate a bit, as if on a turntable, and jamming out as the adventure carries on. I thought that it would be cool to create a DJ-styled setup to align with your channel theming, and I'm thrilled that it's so well-received! Thanks for noting the lighting decrease at the variation section, and I'm glad that you enjoyed those colored bolts emanating from the speakers - that was all Kali's idea. 😁 I really wanted the overall energy and hype of this video to match the excitement in the music, and my own excitement throughout this project! Ah man, you are truly too kind! I'm incredibly happy that you enjoyed the parts I worked on, and just as grateful for how you integrated them into the mix. And yeah, absolutely - the music you create, and the kind of person you are make an impact on many people in the VGM community. At the end of the day, we're all just VGM-obsessed musicians, visual artists, and/or video editors, but I can't help but be wowed a lot of the time! 🤩 It means a tremendous amount that you look forward to my music, and the very same to you, my friend! Once again, thanks for everything, and I'll see you soon! 🌟
I didn't expect to see you one day collaborating with Player2! You 2 did a great job! This collaboration is a sign of a reward for all the work you have done, isn't it? ;)
Guimu, thank you very much for watching, and for the kind and thoughtful comment! :D I'll be honest, I didn't expect to see me collaborating with Player2 either, but this was an incredible opportunity that I'll always be grateful for. Working with him was a sincere pleasure, and he goes above and beyond to make his collaboration partners feel appreciated, valued, and capable! I definitely have been afforded an opportunity that literally anyone in the VGM community would be thrilled to have, and it does feel like my efforts towards improvement have resulted in a very happy and rewarding outcome! I hope that you'll have similarly exciting opportunities this year, Guimu, and it's clear that your remix videos are starting to catch the eye of many people. I can't wait to see what you'll create this year! Thanks again, Guimu! ^_^
Wow. Everyone here should be proud of what you produced! Incredibly light, fluffy but also rhythmically deep. Pacing and instrumentation are dynamic and engaging, and everything else is complemented by a simple yet detailed animation for engagement. Really blown away here!
Star Haven! Thank you so much for listening, and for the detailed and thoughtful comment. 😊 Player2, Kali and I are definitely very proud of this remix video, and I really appreciate your saying so! I'm thrilled to hear that the light and playful style went over well here, while being rhythmically robust. Big, big props to Player2 for that, who absolutely excels at drums and percussion, among many other aspects. It also means a lot to hear that the instrumentation was dynamic and varied, as we had hoped, with mix-ups in the energy levels - thank you for that! I really appreciate that you always take the time to comment specifically on the visuals, as well. I really wanted the world around the character to be the focus this time, and I'm glad that the video elements came across as engaging - coming from you, that means a lot. Thank you again for the wonderful comment, my friend. I'll see you soon! 🌟
EQ this is such a clever idea for a video!! The music here is so upbeat, I really like how the synths work together. And the introduction of Player2 timed with the little firework and sound is just perfect. Reminds me of couch co-op, like they just showed up to play! It's good to see you growing and collaborating with other VGM remixers. I mean don't get me wrong an EQ mix is fine, but you just know it's gonna be something great when there's a second remixer involved. It's probably a lot of work but the results speak for themselves. I'm curious if you and Player2 are using the same DAW to make this or using a different approach. Anyway it's a really catchy track! More importantly, the art is what ties it all together. This is some of the best art I've seen yet, it's so cool to see all the little biomes you traverse. I'm sure drawing just one must've taken quite a while but to see like 8 is just so sick!! The shading is really well done too, I love how detailed yet playful everything looks. It's never distracting and each element stands out on their own. By far the coolest part about all of this is how it's not just a flat drawing. You have like the foreground and the background rotating together as the EQ Mii travels with that little smirk. Look at him go! And if all that wasn't enough the laptop is branded as an EQ! Now that's what I'm talking about, my dude is getting into MERCHANDISING! Can't wait to see EQ the t-shirt, EQ the coloring book, EQ the lunch box, EQ the breakfast cereal, EQ the flamethrower!! 🧯🔥 Great work everyone, it's always fun to watch these videos especially when you consider all the work that goes into them. I have a feeling that these videos are going to spike in popularity. Keep up the good work! 💎
Titan, thank you so much, man!! And my sincere apologies for the delay in getting back to you - I'm only just getting the notification for your comment nearly a week later for some reason. But wow, this was really a joy to read, and you had me smiling widely from start-to-finish! 😄 I'm really glad you liked the sound style of this piece, as it's definitely quite a bit more punchy and high-energy than what I can normally create working solo. As you mentioned, that's the beauty of collaboration, and I'm very fortunate to work with such hard-working, skilled, and - most of all - passionate people who adore VGM. I feel like the result can be much greater than the sum of its parts, and it's definitely been the case with all of my previous collabs, as well. Seeing you say that really warms my heart! So, interestingly, Player2 and I do use different DAWs - he uses Ableton, and I use Fl Studio (hope he doesn't mind my sharing that 😅). The process for working across differing DAWs is actually way more straightforward than I had anticipated! The approach we took here is that I exported stems (rendered tracks for each instrument or sound effect) as .wav files and then sent them to Player2, which he then imported into Ableton and integrated with his own tracks. I'm very fortunate that Player2 was eager to take on the monumental task of mixing and mastering the piece, because his skills in that area are, well, quite literally professional-level. At the outset of a collaboration, key signature, tempo, and general song structure should be decided, but after that, the process involves a lot of back-and-forth, sending stems, updating them continuously, and providing feedback. It sounds like a lot, but I'm finding that the process becomes far less daunting with each collaboration. Having consecutive collabs at the end of 2022 has really helped me to grow in that area, and I'm grateful for those opportunities! Thank you _so_ much for always taking the time to comment on the video elements and Kali's artwork in particular. Honestly, her art is - as you aptly put it - what ties everything together, and without it, well... I'd be using official artwork or borrowing some online, which wouldn't be nearly as customizable or meaningful for me. I can attribute a great deal of the success to her artwork alone, and the critical role it plays in each video! Indeed, this was a real labor of love for her, and I know she spent at least a dozen working hours in total on the video assets here. I was truly blown away by the sheer quality _and_ quantity of artwork that she created, and as you mentioned, the different environments reflect worlds that you traverse in the game. It's quite a colorful universe, with some really solid level theming, and 95% of the very concept for this video was Kali's doing. She suggested the idea of creating an EQ-styled Mii, tearing it up at the DJ booth, with the lands of Miitopia passing by in a layered, rotational style. She and I are really making sure to coordinate ideas more and more with each new video, and a lot of discussion goes on during the music phase. I'm a very lucky guy to be able to do that! Heh, I'm tickled that you noticed that little detail on the laptop, and thanks for mentioning it! Again, all credit to Kali for that, and she's working on possible icon ideas for this year to help stylize and add a bit more theming to this channel. I hadn't considered merchandise, honestly, though I think it'd be cool to give out stickers at a convention or something! I don't ever intend to make money from this endeavor, and I'm just grateful that people take the time to listen and interact. If I'm gonna be selling anything, it'll be selling people on other artists' creations! (although a flamethrower sounds pretty bad-@$$ 😼🔥) Thank you again for your always-thoughtful and encouraging comments. They sincerely mean more than I can say. And I'm fortunate that this video has had a strong response already - here's to a big year for both of us! I'll see you soon, my friend! 💛
Hey, Anbu! It's great to see you. 😄 Thanks so much for taking an interest in the remix, and I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed it! I hope it makes for some nice background music while studying, too. 📝 Thanks again! :D
I can't believe that a game as silly, campy and fairly bonkers as this has such a banging soundtrack. But I can believe a couple of remixing pros knocking another one out of the park! It feels like a complete remaster, but at the same time has your signature styles to it. The percussion is solid and snappy with the fills being the crème de la crème! And the synths sound like you two went to the original and asked Miyamoto himself if you two can beef up the melody and the rhythm. Really glad to see you collaborating with lots of other talented individuals and can't wait for more to come!
Hey, Danny! :D Thank you very much for the thoughtful, encouraging, and creative comment! It means a lot to hear that you enjoyed this collaborative piece. 😊 I agree that Miitopia's OST is way, way better than its art, gameplay, and premise would suggest! Honestly, the soundtrack has no business being as good as it is, but I'm glad for that! What's even wilder is the fact that its music was left (as far as I know) untouched from the 3DS version! I feel like I played nearly as much time in Sound Test mode as I did the actual game itself. 😅 Ah man, to be put in the same category of "pro" as Player2 is sincerely humbling to hear - thank you!! One of my continuous goals is to work towards music that is truly professional-sounding, and your feedback makes me feel like I'm really on the right track there! Indeed, we tried to keep as much of the style and charm of the original intact here as possible (because the song is just _so_ dang good!) while incorporating some of our signature elements. Player2 did a fantastic job of highlighting aspects of our particular styles, and I appreciate that he encouraged me to just go all-out and do what came naturally here! Complete credit goes to him, for all those percussive fills you mentioned, as well - I'm glad you liked them as much as I did! And wow, it is really heartening to hear that the synths sound reminiscent of the original, but with a fresh coat of paint - thanks for saying so! I'm delighted to hear that you've been enjoying these recent collaborations on the channel - working with these creatively talented people has been amazing, and I'm grateful to have had these opportunities! There are more planned for 2023, too, and I'm so happy to know that you'll be looking forward to those, as well. Thanks again, man! 💛
Holy COW MAN!! You and Player2 make such a combo! I am still in utter disbelief that this remix is THIS GOOD! Hearing it yesterday on Player2's channel blew my mind, and still the same result today! I also can't believe how much there is to the visuals here, Kali always goes above and beyond with the art! Keep them coming man, I'll be listening to this all month! :D
SteelDragon, thank you so much, man! It is always such a genuine pleasure to read your detailed and enthusiastic comments, and I really appreciate that you took the time to comment so thoughtfully on both Player2's video and mine. 😊 It means a huge amount to see your respond so positively to this collaborative remix, and to hear that he and I synergized well together! Needless to say, it was a real privilege to work with him, and his production skills and incredible efforts truly took this remix to the next level, and then some! And throughout the process, he was so encouraging, informative, and open to feedback and suggestions. Overall, an amazing experience! Thank you very much for mentioning the visuals, as well! Kali and I are grateful for your feedback on them, and this was definitely one of her most involved projects yet, with a new style to boot! I'm beyond fortunate to have her artistic support, much as I am to have support from you and so many others in the VGM community. 💛 I'm so glad that you found this remix so catchy! And likewise, my Recommended feed is starting to know what I'm after, because it keeps suggesting your Bubblegum K.K. remix, and I keep wanting to listen to it! Thanks again, my friend - I'll see you soon! :D
What a way to start the year! The two styles match so well together, this remix got a nice rythm, all the sounds and melodies sound wonderful and they're mixed perfectly! All your collabs just sound fantastic, and you always manage to sneak your signature style in (such as in the segment at 1:40, with that violin). Seriously amazing, good work Equalyze and Player2!
DarlingJack, thank you so much for the kind and thoughtful comment - your feedback is always a delight to read, and I appreciate that you always take the time to listen and comment in detail. ^_^ I'm thrilled to hear that you felt our styles are a good match for each other! Since the original theme from Miitopia has a charming, yet powerful sound, I felt that our respective sound styles could deliver the best of both worlds. Of course, _major_ props to Player2 for integrating all of the many stems together and mixing & mastering them to perfection! He really brought forth signature elements, like the violin synth you mentioned (and thanks for that!) and glued everything together with his incredible production skills. Again, thank you very much for writing such supportive and encouraging feedback, and for taking an interest in each remix. Here's to an exciting and fruitful year for all of us! 🌟
Wow, just where do I begin? This is definitely one of your better remixes so far, and to think you pulled it off with the one and only Player2 is just legendary! A great way to kick off the new year!! The segment at 0:26 has always been my favorite part of the original song, and I legit got goosebumps when I heard your take on it, it was seriously amazing executed by you guys! I also enjoyed 0:08 and 0:13 and 0:19 as what used to be the bongos in the original, got replaced by DAMN GOOD PERCUSSION SKILLS HOLY SH*T! I also LOVE the visuals here, and having "Lyzer" as a Mii AND DJ looks gorgeous! Kali always nails her arts! To also see that you progressive go through the world of Miitopia is a really cool detail, and of course adds to the fact that I love how every video of yours tells a story of some kind ^^ I could talk a lot more, but I have English class soon AHAH! Awesome remix as always! Talk to you later mate 🔥
AvoCado, you really made my day with this comment - thank you so much!! ^_^ I am really happy to hear that you felt this ranks among my top remixes, and I'd have to agree - having the opportunity to work with Player2 was such an exciting way to kick off 2023, and all the work he did on this remix really brought it to the next level! Man, I'm so glad you liked the part at 0:26 - that's one of my favorite parts, too - it's just so dang catchy and addictive to listen to. Seriously, the original song is way too good, and I can't believe I overlooked this game for so long, knowing now what an amazing soundtrack it has. Heh, those percussion breaks you mentioned (and thanks for the timestamps in your comment!) are courtesy of Player2's incredible percussive work. Both you and him excel in the category of "hit thing, make sound" instruments, and it was such a privilege to take part in projects that featured your guys' drums and percussion - seriously! Dude, thank you for always taking the time to read the descriptions and for mentioning them in your comments - it means a lot that you do! All credit goes to Kali for the idea of turning Lyzer into a Mii, and we actually created a new character in the game for him so Kali could use it as a reference image. It was kind of fun to play as my UA-cam channel character for awhile, not gonna lie! 😸 And I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the rotating-scene style of the video - again, that was all Kali's idea! Since the different worlds are such a big part of the game experience, we thought it'd be fitting to make them the feature video element. I really appreciate the feedback on the bit of storytelling I try to do with each video, and it's encouraging to know that it makes for a more enjoyable experience - I'll be sure to continue with that! Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and thoughtful comment during your break at school! I'll see you soon, Avo! 🌟
Woah, Whaleinator, it's great to see you! Thanks so much for taking an interest in the remix, and for the kind feedback! ^_^ I agree that this piece has an excellent beat, and Player2 really brought out the potential of that, with a variety of rhythm styles. His mixing really made everything sound so clean and vibrant, as well, and it was a treat to hear my parts integrated so seamlessly with his - big props to him for that! Man, it means more than I can say to know that you're a fan of my remixes - seriously, thank you. And likewise, I'm a fan of your music and production style! I hope your year has been off to a great start - I feel like big things await our growing VGM community in 2023! Thanks again, man! 🌟
Thank you very much, ILM! It makes me really happy to know that you enjoyed this remix, and that you felt the two styles were a good match. Mad props to Player2 for integrating both of our stems so seamlessly and mixing them with perfect clarity and brightness! I hope 2023 has been off to a great start for you and I'll be looking forward to those WIP tracks you showcased in your recent video! Thanks again! :D
Wow, MidiMusic, that's very high praise - thank you so much! ^_^ I'm really flattered that you described the remix video with so many complimentary terms, and they're all specific aspects that Player2 and I have been striving for. It was a real privilege to work with him and his talents and efforts are to thank for the balance, precision, and catchiness that you mentioned especially! I hope your year has been off to a great start, my friend, and I'll be seeing you soon! Thanks again! :)
Vector, thanks so much, man! That is really high praise, coming from you, and I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it. ^_^ And thanks for the kind words regarding the video, as well! I'm really glad you enjoyed the concept and artwork. Kali's designs put in a lot of work here! 😁 Hope your year's been off to a great start! Thanks again, and take care! 🌟
I fell in love with this immediately! Amazing job, y'all. Those complicated drum sections and satisfying melodies... transcribing those into the DAW was certainly not easy, I can guess that much lol. Keep it up!!
Thanks so much, Chillboy! That's very high praise, coming from you, and I appreciate the specific remarks regarding the percussive and melody elements. All the credit goes to Player2 for those percussive breaks, and he handled a majority of the drum work, too - the guy has incredible penchant for percussive elements especially, and it was a real privilege, being able to have my sounds integrated with his! I agree that Miitopia's Boss theme has a very satisfying and catchy melody - honestly, the game's entire OST is so tight, and I think the cartoonish and campy nature of the game obscures that a bit. I was blown away by this game's music, and I had been wanting to remix one of its tracks for quite some time now - thankfully, Player2 was on board and enthusiastic from the get-go! And props go to my friend AvoCado Tunes for helping out with the fast-moving notes that I would have found nearly impossible to transcribe otherwise (e.g., those descending runs at 0:48). The guy has an incredible ear for transcription, even with the fastest-moving and most complicated segments! Thank you again for taking the time to listen and comment - it means a great deal! :D
HOLY MOLY.... EQUALYZE say what?! I was also overwhelmed by the production here! :D I'll start in order with the description first! Hahaha that first paragraph caught me off guard in a good way xD ("vanquishing your math teacher. 🧟♀ ...or supervisor. 😈 ...or cat. " -- LOL)! Also it is nice to see everyone coming together to help out! That was a nice shoutout to Avocado :D Also the shoutout to P2 is so kind!!
Man, Hanabi, thank you SO much for the wonderfully detailed and enthusiastic comment! I'm grateful that you always keep an eye and ear out for even the most miniscule details in the music and visuals, and that you take the time to comment on them specifically. 😊 Thanks for always taking an interest in the description - it means a lot that you do! Heh, based on what I've witnessed, people typically make the Dark Lord someone - or something - that vexes them, or that they'd just be amused to see with a villainous garb and hairstyle. 😆 That's part of what makes this game so ridiculous and fun, and there's a good deal of genuine LOL moments throughout. And thank you for your kind remarks regarding the artist mentions! You're a shining example of that in the community, and you've really made me want to be even more mindful of how people are acknowledged in the video, description, and comments. It really was amazing how different people came together for this project, and I get a bit emotional thinking about it, even. I'm glad you like the music so much - thank you!! And guilty as charged - I do love me some expressive violin leads, and that instrument has become an absolute staple for me. I love the one you've been using, too, and honestly, you can never go wrong with strings in a remix, regardless of genre! Ah man, I'm tickled that you noticed the "WOO!" corresponding with the name appearing. 😁 It's always fun when there are opportunities for interaction between the music and visuals, and I try to jump on them when I see 'em! Also, YES! That logo on the laptop definitely is indicative of a new logo in the not-too-distant future. I'm glad you like it, even in its preliminary stages, and thanks for noticing it! I'm touched by your kind words regarding the video elements, and the teamwork behind it. There's no way I could do this without being able to work so closely with Kali, and I had a similarly synergetic experience working with Aimee on the Port Prisma video. Wow, being referred to as a "power duo" is very heartwarming praise - thank you!! Indeed, being able to work with family or friends is a really meaningful experience, and love seeing it happen with others, as well, like when you worked with your sister recently! I swear, this stuff really gets me...🥹 But yes, admittedly, it did take a good number of hours to get it the way we wanted it, and Kali shouldered a lot of the burden by making sure everything was scaled and aligned properly to import into FL Studio's ZGEV. She also provided feedback and suggestions throughout the process, and the video is much better for it! :D Wow, I can't even express in words alone what it means to hear that - thank you so much, Hanabi. Really! It's beyond heartwarming to know that my words and interactions with people in the community have been making the kind of positive impact that I hope they will! Likewise, you've become a beacon of encouragement and enthusiasm, and as I mentioned previously, it's a level of care that I strive to follow. Thanks again for everything, my friend. I'll be seeing you! 💛
Man, thanks so much, FlameCheese! I always look forward to reading your feedback and value it highly. And I really appreciate your specific mention of the artwork, as well! Kaleigh really went all-out here with the two scene layers, and putting it together was a cinch, since she made sure everything was scaled and lined up properly. We're both glad to know that it went over well! 🙂 Thank you, again, for always taking an interest in each new remix and providing encouraging feedback - it means a tremendous amount! 💛
After taking a break from the internet for a while, this was really nice to come back to. Was not expecting a Miitopia song to be such a banger, but here we are! I've gotta say the percussion here is really grabbing my attention. Starting off strong with a four on the floor beat for the first section, then moving into a more groovy thing with the kick hitting with the chord changes. I love the switching between these two throughout the song, as it really keeps you on your toes. And the change at 1:32 with a dubstep styled between was a really nice variation that makes every chord feel a bit more impactful. The buildup to that section is really satisfying as well, starting at 1:09 and doing a bit of a breakdown, stripping everything back so when it all comes back in later, it really hits hard! AND THE FILLS! The fills here are insane. I'm not even entirely sure what you're doing for half of these but they sound incredible and really liven up the beat. This may some of my favourite percussion work you've done so far! At first I didn't really care for how the supersaw synths blended so much with the leads. I thought "well now it's a bit difficult to pick out the lead." But then it hit me that it was very intentional and, might I say, quite genius. The s-saws almost give the impression of a choir or backup vocalists; that's why they're so similar! After that revelation, I started to really appreciate them and started noticed how the join the melody exactly how backup singers would. It's honestly blowing my mind right now. I really wanna analyze everything else too, but I've listened to this like 6 or 7 times already and I keep getting distracted by the percussion. XDDD You and Player2 make an awesome team. Hearing your signature style mixed with his amazing percussion and mixing skills is such a treat for the ears! What a great vibe to start off the year! Can't wait to hear what you've got coming next my friend!
Vividity, thank you _so_ much for the wonderfully detailed and thoughtful comment! I can't even begin to express how much I appreciate your time and effort that went into writing it. ☺ Good on you for being able to detach from the online space for a while! I really should do the same, but I have a bit of a UA-cam problem, admittedly. 😅 But yeah, Miitopia's soundtrack is unexpectedly good, and I think many people - myself included - were surprised to find out just _how_ good it is! You'd never expect it to have such a ridiculously catchy and well-produced OST, given the art style and ridiculous nature of the game. If you're looking to jam out to another song in Miitopia's soundtrack, I would strongly recommend Boss Battle 3 - I think it'd be right up your alley! 🎸 Mad props go to Player2 for the percussive elements here, and I'm so glad you liked them! I'm in the same boat as you though - I honestly don't know how he came up with so many unique and cool percussive breaks at the ends of phrases, but it was such a treat to hear them in the remix. The man is an absolute guru with all things percussive! I'm happy to know that you liked the mix-ups in the rhythms, as well. I'm not usually a 4-on-the-floor guy, in truth, but Player2 makes what would normally be a standard beat into something rich and detailed. We figured a mix of D&B, Dance, and semi-dubstep would create some nice variance in the rhythms, and I'm thrilled that you noticed and pointed that aspect out specifically - thank you! Man, I am so heartwarmed to hear your thoughts on the leads and supporting saw synths, and that it eventually grew on you. Thank you for the kind feedback, and also for taking such an open-minded perspective with the instrument sounds. I had hoped that the lead, which is a PWM synth, would jell well with the supersaw chords, sounding similar enough to be in the same general "voicing", as you aptly put it, but different enough to not blend entirely. Once again, major props to Player2 for mixing those instruments with such precision and intent! I really appreciate that you wanted to listen to this remix multiple times - that's a huge compliment and it makes me happy to know that you enjoyed it so much. ^_^ And thank you for always taking an interest in the description and alluding to it in your comments - that really means a great deal! Likewise, I'm excited to see and hear what you've got planned for this year, my friend. And I'm super motivated and encouraged to hear that you're looking forward to future remixes on this channel, as well! Thanks again, Vividity, and I'll see ya soon! 💛
@@Equalyze Yeah I have a bit of a UA-cam problem as well. lol It's hard to "miss out" on stuff yk? But I do wanna make sure I have time to support my music friends! I'm curious; have you played Miitopia or just discover the OST? And yeah I'll check that out! Yesss Player2 is a legend! I really need to listen to more of his stuff. Yeah I really enjoyed hearing all the styles of drumming! Honestly, it's cool to hear many genres mixed together. I think it makes songs more cohesive actually. Ya'll did a really good job with that! Your music is always so rich and has lots of depth, so it usually gets better with every listen! Seriously you and Player2 make an awesome team! Anytime my friend! I see you've got another remix up so I'm gonna need to check that out soon. 👀 See you soon!
@@vividity Hey, thanks so much for the detailed and heartwarming response- this really made my evening! ^_^ I'm completely the same way with UA-cam. I'm always looking out for new remixes of my favorite VGM tracks, but it's important to me to spend a good deal of my YT time supporting people in the remix community, much like you do. The potential payoff of bringing someone a bit of joy is well worth the time and effort spent, I feel. 🙂 So, full transparency here: usually, I like to remix songs from games that I've personally played, beaten, and know well, but Miitopia's Event Battle is the first case where I didn't play much of the game at all. I had a blast watching Kali play it, though, and I kept remarking on how good the OST was as she was playing through it. In fact, she'd often leave the game on in Sound Test mode when she was done playing, so I could have the music playing in the background as I worked. The first time I heard this boss battle theme, I was truly floored, and I knew it was something I'd want to remix someday. Honestly, the game has no right having such a polished and catchy OST! 😆 I'm glad to hear that you felt the different styles of drumming coalesced well, and thanks for saying so! I always find it challenging to vary up the drum patterns while keeping the groove intact, but it's good to know that it came across well here. :) Man, thank you _so_ much for your kind remarks regarding the details in the song, and hearing more of them in repeated listens. That's a major aspect of the music that I always hope will be perceived as a strength, so seeing you say that means the world to me! And yeah, it was a fantastic experience, all around, working with Player2! The guy is as enthusiastic and encouraging as he is hard-working and talented, and I would definitely love to work with him again on future remixes. Thanks for taking an interest in the new remix, as well, and I hope it's one you'll enjoy! I really loved your new commissioned track that you just uploaded, and I can't get it out of my head, nor do I want to! As always, it's been a true pleasure. See you around, Vividity! :D
Haha! Hey, Rpoul47, thanks so much for listening, and for the kind feedback! I'm really happy to hear that you liked that new EQ logo on the laptop, and thanks for noticing and pointing out such a subtle detail! That logo is still a work-in-progress, but you can definitely expect it to appear on the channel before long! 😸 (...and, you know, I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed the remix, too.) Seriously, thank you! 😄
This is the collab of the year!!! (even though the year has just started XD) I think that you and Player2 did a spectacular job on this remix! I could hear both of your styles so distinctively, Player2's energetic dance beats combined with your airy synth melodies, it's perfect! I don't think I could imagine a better result than this. Very well done, you two! 👍👍 Also, I gotta comment on this video, man, I love this presentation! The channel mascot as the DJ playing the remix, including both yours and Player2's channel logo on the screen, it's really a great combo! And that rotating artwork is awesome! It gives the whole video a turntable feel, which fits perfectly with the upbeat dance style of this remix. I really like how Kali's beautiful art is integrated with your videos. Stellar work all the way! 🤩
My goodness, Glitchman, thank you so much!! Reading this comment really has me smiling from ear to ear, and I'm really touched by your thoughtful and encouraging words. 😊 Hearing that this collaboration has such potential - especially coming from you - means a ton! I'm delighted to hear that both of our sound styles came across in the remix. Player2 was fantastic about making sure that my style was really well-represented in the remix, and he synergized his parts perfectly with mine. His extensive collaborative experience and his superb skill in general really allowed the remix to come together in such a way, and I'm super grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him on this. :) Man, thank you so much for always taking the time to comment specifically on the video elements, too! I'm really happy that you pointed out details in the visuals that I was hoping people would notice and enjoy, like the debut of the channel mascot, taking on a DJ role here. And the fact that you linked it to the turntable-style background/foreground scene just warms my heart immensely. ^_^ Heh, having Player2's and my logos was actually directly inspired by his video style, so I have him to thank for that! But again, I really appreciate the extent to which you comment on the visual aspects, as well as your kind words in support of Kali - thank you!! 💛
Hey, Caleb! Thanks so much for checking out the remix, and for the enthusiastic and encouraging comment. I'm thrilled to hear that it got you moving along to the beat - Player2 did an amazing job of keeping the drive constant throughout the song, even despite the shifts in energy. ⚡ Hope you've been doing well this year, with all the changes happening IRL and whatnot. And, as always, I'm looking forward to more of your music, too! Thanks again! ^_^
Very upbeat and an interesting percussive choice reminds me of future Bass with the synths and the bubble like synth really shining through the piece looking forward to the next remix I like how you go for the really underrated themes!
Poke&Remix, thanks so much, man! I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed this one, and I appreciate the specific feedback on the sound style. :D Major props go to Player2 for the percussive elements - all of those percussive breaks and most of the drums were his fine work. He specializes in punchy, upbeat, and addictively fun beats, and his signature House style really came through here, in tandem with the D&B elements of the original. And thanks for mentioning the synths, as well! The original has some surprisingly light and bubbly synths for it being a boss battle, but it really fits the nature of the game. I'm delighted to hear that you feel there are some underrated selections on the channel - thank you! And again, thanks for the continuous encouragement and support - until next time! 🌟
Wizards n' Dragons, it's really good to see you! Thank you very much for listening, and I'm glad that this Miitopia remix caught your interest. 😁 I have to agree that Miitopia's soundtrack is just too good, and I'm always keeping an eye out for them. I'm looking forward to your next upload, as well! See you around, man! 🌟
@@Equalyze I'm a big fan of all things Mii related, and when I saw that it was youuu that posted this, I just had to take a listen and comment! Also yeahhhh I haven't been uploading because funny enough, you can't really work on remixes when you are in the military lol. But anyways, a fantastic remix my man, and I can't wait to see what you make next!
@@therealwnd1820Oh, yeah, that would definitely make working on remixes quite difficult. 😅 My heartfelt thank-you for serving the country and the people in it! Haha! I can see that your updated PFP (which looks great, by the way!).and channel banner that you're very much a fan of the Mii style - that's awesome! And it means a great deal that you took an interest in this latest remix. ^_^ Thanks again, Wizards n' Dragons, for your thoughtful comments. All the best to you in 2023! :)
@@Equalyze Thank you so so much, I'm proud to serve! And I have DingityDingus to thank for that, he made this amazing illustration for me! And lastly, Miis have always been important for me since my childhood, they've got such a charm to em that I can't describe! And as always, I can't wait to see what you come up with, Hope the new year does you well!
Love it. It captures the vibes of a song I've never heard from a game I've never played, so good job. I feel like this remix has given me some idea. And despite it being a silly-goofy game, this is a work of art! Good job you guys!
G-Squared, thanks so much for the kind and encouraging words! It means a tremendous amount that you take the time to listen intently and comment on my remixes, even if they're unfamiliar. And I'm psyched to hear that this one has instilled a strong feeling in spite of being a bit out there! 😁 Now you've got me intrigued as to what kind of idea(s) you're referring to... 🤔 Big props to Player2 for all the work and creative energy he put into making this piece what it is. It was a privilege to be able to work with a bona fide professional, and I really appreciate the praise you expressed for him and I. Thank you again! ^_^
Thank you so much, Zaku! I am really happy to know that you enjoyed this remix so much, and I hugely appreciate your taking the time to comment on this video. ^_^ Major props go to Player2 for his work with the percussive elements, among many other aspects of the remix - the guy has incredible musicality, and a remarkable ability to create exciting, catchy, and dynamic rhythms. Honestly, the original song is so good - most definitely a jam!! It was quite a challenge to embellish and modify the arrangement and instrumentation in a way that wouldn't detract, so it's very encouraging to hear that you felt this brought the energy to a new level, even! Thanks again for your enthusiastic feedback! 💥
Dude, thanks so much for the enthusiastic and fiery comment, and I'm stoked that you enjoyed it so much! 😁 I've had that happen before, as well, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason for it. In any case, I would be _so_ stoked to hear this in one of your sets!! Thanks again, Theølogy! 💛
Hey, Limestone Owl, thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate the kind feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed our remix! ^_^ Honestly, I'm a big fan of Miitopia's music, and I definitely want to remix more songs from its soundtrack in the future. There are so many good tracks in the OST, it's hard to choose among them, but Boss Battle 1 is my favorite, so I wanted to start with that. That said, there are also a ton of songs from other Nintendo games that I've been wanting to remix, so it may be some time yet before I revisit Miitopia. In the meantime, I hope you'll enjoy the other music here, too! Thanks again for taking an interest in the remix!
Haha! Not gonna lie, this comment made me both smile and laugh . Also, I had to look up that word to verify that it means what I thought it did. 😅 -dang it, I've been exposed- For real, though, thank you for taking the time to listen and comment, Broomietunes - it means a lot that you do! And thanks also for reading the description - as a fellow "Show more" clicker, it warms my heart tremendously! 😊 I'm glad to know that you enjoyed the remix and video - this has become a new favorite of mine. I hope your year has been off to a great start this year - and I'm looking forward to what you'll create in 2023! Until next time! 😺
Hey, CR! It's great to see you. :D Thanks very much for listening and for taking the time to comment. I'm thrilled to hear that this song is running playlist-worthy - we were hoping it would get people pumped up! 😁
Aw, thanks so much, La Ravioli! ^_^ I am really psyched to hear that you like the design of the Mii that Kali created. When playing through the post-game in Miitopia, we actually created a Mii based on the channel mascot, Lyzer, and Kali used that as the basis for the one shown in the video. Thank you very much for listening, and for taking the time to comment! 🙂
That's definitely a possibility, although to be transparent, 2023 is already looking quite busy for me collaboration-wise. Collaborating, at least, in my experience, can take on different forms, but typically, people will send each other rendered tracks (stems) that one or both people will integrate together and form a consolidated mix. It can definitely be done with different, DAWs, as was the case here with Player2 and I. Thanks for your interest in that, Landon & Emma and I hope to have opportunities for that sometime in the future! :D
Hey, Landon & Emma, thanks so much for that! I had a feeling this might be right up your alley. ^_^ I'm really sorry that your prior comment was deleted, though it definitely was not my doing. I wonder if it had a link or something else that UA-cam might have flagged it? Again, my apologies for that, and thanks for the kind words! :)
@@LandonEmma Ah, that might have been it. I really appreciate all comments, and I don't delete them unless they're abusive or spam. Again, sorry that this happened! 😓
Thanks for that mention! Honestly, I see this track listed as "Event Battle" in many videos, both for OST versions and remixes, so I felt it was the term that most people would be familiar with, but I did make sure to include its official name in the title, as well. 🙂
The whole concept of the video is literally genius - taking backgrounds from all the Miitopia worlds as a progression through the game, & the curvature of the DJ booth to show it's literally on top of the world - once again, phenomenal!! I'm super impressed with all the vibrant colors here, especially the lowering of the background around 1:10 to match the attenuated energy. Plus, the integration of our logos front & center, and those electric bolts coming out of the speakers: absolute perfection!! 🔊
I _could_ write another five paragraphs on the music, but you already know how incredible your sections of this song are from my perspective! 😎
Thank you immensely for what you stated in your description; while I have never expected to be considered a "hero" to someone, it is exceptionally humbling to hear someone would ever think of me as one.
It means a tremendous amount that you look forward to my music, and the very same to you, my friend!
Great work everyone, it's always fun to watch these videos especially when you consider all the work that goes into them.
I'm really glad you liked the sound style of this piece, as it's definitely quite a bit more punchy and high-energy than what I can normally create working solo.
(although a flamethrower sounds pretty bad-@$$ 😼🔥)
Thank you again for your always-thoughtful and encouraging comments. They sincerely mean more than I can say. And I'm fortunate that this video has had a strong response already - here's to a big year for both of us! I'll see you soon, my friend! 💛
This is pretty good, I would probably listen to this while I do my schoolwork
Hey, Anbu! It's great to see you. 😄 Thanks so much for taking an interest in the remix, and I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed it! I hope it makes for some nice background music while studying, too. 📝
Thanks again!
I agree that Miitopia's OST is way, way better than its art, gameplay, and premise would suggest! Honestly, the soundtrack has no business being as good as it is, but I'm glad for that! What's even wilder is the fact that its music was left (as far as I know) untouched from the 3DS version! I feel like I played nearly as much time in Sound Test mode as I did the actual game itself. 😅
Ah man, to be put in the same category of "pro" as Player2 is sincerely humbling to hear - thank you!!
It means a huge amount to see your respond so positively to this collaborative remix, and to hear that he and I synergized well together!
I'm so glad that you found this remix so catchy!
I'm thrilled to hear that you felt our styles are a good match for each other!
To also see that you progressive go through the world of Miitopia is a really cool detail, and of course adds to the fact that I love how every video of yours tells a story of some kind ^^
I could talk a lot more, but I have English class soon AHAH! Awesome remix as always! Talk to you later mate
🔥
And I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the rotating-scene style of the video - again, that was all Kali's idea!
Spectacular! Sick beat and super well mixed! Big fan of both you guys!
Woah, Whaleinator, it's great to see you! Thanks so much for taking an interest in the remix, and for the kind feedback! ^_^
I agree that this piece has an excellent beat, and Player2 really brought out the potential of that, with a variety of rhythm styles.
dang, this is really good! your styles mesh together perfectly!
Awesome work, lots of words comes in my mind to talk about it : precision, well balanced, richness, catchy, varied, cool... and many others !
Yo BRAVO you guys! This is such a bop! The video is great too 😊
Vector, thanks so much, man! That is really high praise, coming from you, and I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it. ^_^ And thanks for the kind words regarding the video, as well! I'm really glad you enjoyed the concept and artwork. Kali's designs put in a lot of work here! 😁
Hope your year's been off to a great start!
Thanks for always taking an interest in the description - it means a lot that you do!
Wow, I can't even express in words alone what it means to hear that - thank you so much, Hanabi. 💛
Sheesh the production is so good on this one. And the art is cool with the rotating background and foreground
Thank you, again, for always taking an interest in each new remix and providing encouraging feedback - it means a tremendous amount!
Good on you for being able to detach from the online space for a while! I really should do the same, but I have a bit of a UA-cam problem, admittedly. 😅
But yeah, Miitopia's soundtrack is unexpectedly good, and I think many people - myself included - were surprised to find out just _how_ good it is! You'd never expect it to have such a ridiculously catchy and well-produced OST, given the art style and ridiculous nature of the game. If you're looking to jam out to another song in Miitopia's soundtrack, I would strongly recommend Boss Battle 3 - I think it'd be right up your alley! 🎸
Mad props go to Player2 for the percussive elements here, and I'm so glad you liked them!
I'm completely the same way with UA-cam. I'm always looking out for new remixes of my favorite VGM tracks, but it's important to me to spend a good deal of my YT time supporting people in the remix community, much like you do. The potential payoff of bringing someone a bit of joy is well worth the time and effort spent, I feel. 🙂
So, full transparency here: usually, I like to remix songs from games that I've personally played, beaten, and know well, but Miitopia's Event Battle is the first case where I didn't play much of the game at all.
I'm glad to hear that you felt the different styles of drumming coalesced well, and thanks for saying so! I always find it challenging to vary up the drum patterns while keeping the groove intact, but it's good to know that it came across well here. :)
Man, thank you _so_ much for your kind remarks regarding the details in the song, and hearing more of them in repeated listens.
I really love that "EQ" logo on the laptop!! Oh, and the remix is great too ;P
(...and, you know, I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed the remix, too.) Seriously, thank you!
Also, I gotta comment on this video, man, I love this presentation!
Man, thank you so much for always taking the time to comment specifically on the video elements, too! 💛
I was vigorously bopping my head to this 🤘 Great remix here Equalyze and Player :)
Hey, Caleb! Thanks so much for checking out the remix, and for the enthusiastic and encouraging comment. I'm thrilled to hear that it got you moving along to the beat - Player2 did an amazing job of keeping the drive constant throughout the song, even despite the shifts in energy. ⚡
Hope you've been doing well this year, with all the changes happening IRL and whatnot.
Major props go to Player2 for the percussive elements - all of those percussive breaks and most of the drums were his fine work.
Yes!! Gotta love Miitopia remixes! 😁
Thanks again, Wizards n' Dragons, for your thoughtful comments. All the best to you in 2023! :)
@@Equalyze Thank you so so much, I'm proud to serve! And I have DingityDingus to thank for that, he made this amazing illustration for me!
Big props to Player2 for all the work and creative energy he put into making this piece what it is. It was a privilege to be able to work with a bona fide professional, and I really appreciate the praise you expressed for him and I. Thank you again! ^_^
ooh those energetic rhythms, this jam has been taken to another level 🎧🪩
Thank you so much, Zaku! I am really happy to know that you enjoyed this remix so much, and I hugely appreciate your taking the time to comment on this video. ^_^
Major props go to Player2 for his work with the percussive elements, among many other aspects of the remix - the guy has incredible musicality, and a remarkable ability to create exciting, catchy, and dynamic rhythms.
Why in TF didn't the algorithm show me this until JUST NOW. I'm PISSED!
I WILL BE PLAYING THIS IN MY SETS!
I want more miitopia this is fire please give us more!
Hey, Limestone Owl, thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate the kind feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed our remix! ^_^
Honestly, I'm a big fan of Miitopia's music, and I definitely want to remix more songs from its soundtrack in the future.
Your welcome looking foward to more remixes miitopia or not :>@@Equalyze
keep calling Lyzer the "channel mascot" all you want, we all know it's a fursona lol. great stuff as always 👍
Haha! Not gonna lie, this comment made me both smile and laugh . Also, I had to look up that word to verify that it means what I thought it did. 😅 -dang it, I've been exposed-
For real, though, thank you for taking the time to listen and comment, Broomietunes - it means a lot that you do!
Could definitely run to this song tbh
Hey, CR! It's great to see you. :D Thanks very much for listening and for taking the time to comment. I'm thrilled to hear that this song is running playlist-worthy - we were hoping it would get people pumped up! 😁
Help your mii is so cute-
Aw, thanks so much, La Ravioli!
BTW, can we collab? If we do how do we do it?
That's definitely a possibility, although to be transparent, 2023 is already looking quite busy for me collaboration-wise.
Collaborating, at least, in my experience, can take on different forms, but typically, people will send each other rendered tracks (stems) that one or both people will integrate together and form a consolidated mix. It can definitely be done with different, DAWs, as was the case here with Player2 and I.
Thanks for your interest in that, Landon & Emma and I hope to have opportunities for that sometime in the future! :D
@@Equalyze Hey, whats your dis courd?
I love this remix! Oh and for some reason, why did you delete my old comment?
Hey, Landon & Emma, thanks so much for that! I had a feeling this might be right up your alley. ^_^
I'm really sorry that your prior comment was deleted, though it definitely was not my doing. I wonder if it had a link or something else that UA-cam might have flagged it?
Again, my apologies for that, and thanks for the kind words! :)

This isn't the event battle theme, the event battle theme sounds different, It's called Boss Battle 1. The event battle theme happens with Slurps.
Thanks for that mention! Honestly, I see this track listed as "Event Battle" in many videos, both for OST versions and remixes, so I felt it was the term that most people would be familiar with, but I did make sure to include its official name in the title, as well. 🙂
