Good for you. I bought everything except cinder blocks but never set it up. So dumb of me especially since you proved how easy it was. I will be getting another trash can and get it done. Thank you!!!
There is usually a gasket that goes on the threaded part on the inside of the barrel. Prevents leakage.
Great idea about putting the lid on! I hope it works well for you!!
Also - can you use bungy cords to tie the lid down to the can?
Yes, you totally can. Great thinking!
Thank you. This is what I have been looking for.
I have been trying to figure out a way to catch water… thanks for demonstrating!
The only problem is you’ll have a lot of water you can’t get out because of how high up the spigot is. We put all our barrels on top of cement blocks.
Yep, you are right. There is water in it now, but below the spigot line. 😭 😂 next time I’ll put it much lower.
@@TheHappyHomesteadthere are also inexpensive battery operated pumps.
I like it - Good job.
Nice work! Val C
What size gallon barrel did you use? Would a 32 gallon one be good?
I actually did use a 32 gallon trash can. It's still holding up!
Could you have not just attach the cloth to the top to keep the debris out and then folded it back and dip your watering can into the Barrel?
Yep, absolutely.
