Thank you! Do you know what the recommended calculator(s) are please?
There are just two calculators which you can use in the exam: www.cfainstitute.org/en/about/governance/policies/cfa-calculator-policy
I recommend using the Texas Instruments BA II plua
Sir , which books do you prefer for CFA L1 comprehensive preparation :
Schweser or CFA Institute core readings ❓❓
Please guide on this
I personally relied heavily on Schweser during my Level 1 studies. I do however recommend that you practice using the questions included in the official Learning Ecosystem from CFA Institute (these are based on the end-of-chapter problems from the Curriculum itself).
Hi! Absolutely love your content.. really valuable. I was just curious if you provide any coaching for level 1?
Hi, thank you very much 🙏 I will be recording an online course for the 2024 Level 1 sitting over the Autumn.
Hi Thank you for the valuable content when will you release your course anytime soon?
in professional calculator we can easily calculate the value of Payback Period And Discount Payback Period
is there any way to calculate easily on Student Ba 2 plus ?
Not that I know of, unfortunately.
Ok
Is python in 2nd level ?
As a current undergrad student from an Economics & Finance background, how much time would you recommend as preparation for the level 1 exam? I am looking to write my exam in august.
Hi, thanks for the message. The answer is, of course ... it depends :) But I would recommend you start as soon as possible, lightly, to get a feel for what is demanded from the different areas of the Curriculum. You will probably have a relatively easy time with topics like Corporate Issuers or Economics, or perhaps a large part of Quants, so go through the End of CHapter questions to see whether you know this stuff already, or need more study. This way, you can start creating a realistic plan for the Spring/Summer, which is when you will probably need to put in some serious study time. I would seriously encourage you to devote about 3-4 weeks to Financial Reporting and a similar time frame to Fixed Income as well as Quantitative Methods. In the 2024 version of the Curriculum, these areas strike me as the biggest, and for most Candidates, the most demanding.
Hope this helps
Thank you for your reply! I really appreciate your recommendations and will use them to my benefit for planning my schedule. My biggest concern right now is using the BA II Plus. In my University exams we were never granted the opportunity to use this calculator hence why I never purchased one. What are the best units to start with to capture the most relevant use of the calculator? @@letmeexplaincfa
Hi, I think you should go through the Time Value of Money playlist videos on this channel :) as this is where I really walk you through the essentials of the calculator. A lot of the Quantitative Methods videos also utilise different functions. There is also a video on my recommended setup for the calculator.
Thank you for sharing I will be sure to check out your content of TVM! Since I am new to this depth of studying I am rather unsure how much time I should dedicate to each module. I appreciate you sharing a given time frame in terms of weeks, however, what would you recommend as a specific goal to have in terms of modules hours wise? I know each module is different some more demanding then others, however, I would like to hear what you think on average.@@letmeexplaincfa
@@chr-rom Let me say that I think the overall time allocation for should be a minimum of 3 months of dedicated study (literally spending most of your weekends and free evenings cracking questions, reading, etc). Most people will however spend more time than 3 months only. It really depend on individual circumstances,
Hi im a legal background person, totally beginner in finance, can you guide me how can i start? Which source to rely upon, if i want to apper for level 1 CFA in may 2024, how to crack the level 1 in 1 st apperance
Read from SchweserNotes, do the CFA curriculum end of chapter and blue box questions (some 2500 questions in total) + all quizzes of Schweser, if you have extra time, solve schweser question bank(it's fine if you don't) and do 4-5 mock tests and that's it.
Hi Dimple ! I'm also sitting for May 24. I've bought Mark Meldrum's lectures and begun with Quants. Wanna connect ?
Hello I'm also starting CFA level 1, can you connect me too?
@rahul
Hi, sorry for the late response. I recommend the Curriculum. It is a really great resource. If you can supplement this with Schweser, that would be brilliant!
