Qwek’s Twisted Leader

This is the twisted leader I first tied in the 20,000 days video. It turns over very nicely, has very little memory and only one knot to hold it together. All parts can be adjusted in the making of course and while I’m using 40lb mono here, it will also make very nice leaders of whatever tippet you fancy. Uploading for a Sexyloops Board discussion.
They do have some stretch which can be a problem sometimes. I was first shown this leader by Qwek in Singapore.

I like these leaders for streamer fishing on brooks, you can get good turnover of quite bulky flies on lightish tackle, but i think there are better options for most other situations

I went through a period of about 18 months fishing them all the time with poppers here. But I was missing fish and I wasn’t sure if it was the leader stretch. Since then I’m back to straight 40lbs. What I would say is that accuracy has suffered but hook rate has gone up. I’ll stick this one on this week and compare again. Life is a continuous experiment 😆

Still loving your videos Paul. Keep them coming. How would you cast a 8-10 inch predator streamer fly though? What technique would you use? 170 or OSD?

great video paul… I am gonna try this with 12lb down here. i feel like that is a great concept but if you did something like that for tarpon, i don’t see where you could put the class tippet unless you had it knotted in prior and then add the shock after… Makes me curious
