Funny story to that. We made some DVDs about 20 years ago. Comments after watching the first one was you guys don’t get very excited when catching the fish. I guess we weren’t yelling enough 😆 So on the next DVD we got party trumpets and blew them after every fish. And then for the one after that we had a campfire bomb after every fish. Just as well we stopped making them 😂
It’s not so much the rod stiffness if you point the rod at the fish. It’s about the fly line to fly size. The poppers are size 1 or 1/0. Minimum I use here is an 8WT. But 9 or 10WT is not out of place. Which part of Thailand? I’m up there later this month. Not sure if fresh or saltwater yet 😆

Hi Paul. I notice you no longer use the tape glove you posted years ago. Do you think its still necessary or have you moved on from it?
I only used it a few times! 😆 What I do find necessary is to apply thin silicone oil (10cSt) between shots.
What weight rods, do u use special hooks I’m going to tie some poppers I’m headed to. Thailand In may , is a 7wt to soft?
