mr. shark lol yes they are one of my favorite bands. In this time period though most bands are shit or have a couple good albums or a good song and this band just gets better and if someone doesn't know who Pantera is they must live in a hole.
mr. shark I partially agree. Pantera is prolly my favorite band, but I thought Reinventing the Steel was their weakest.
Jared Fitzgerald I was thinking about it recently and actually a lot of people do disagree they all say they got weaker after every album I think Far Beyond Driven is my #1 favorite Pantera album. It would still be hard to choose though with Vulgar and Cowboys up there.
Yeah man, It's all preference. RtS had some great songs on it but to me wasn't as great as a whole as Vulgar, Cowboys and Far Beyond

As ironic as it seems in hindsight, this album was a huge inspiration of mine when I was fighting cancer. Bought the pre-sale 2 months before my diagnosis and got the copy just a couple months into treatment. Listened to this album hundreds of times during my many rounds chemo. My family reached out to TBDM towards what we thought would be the end, Trevor and Bryan hooked me up with passes to what I still consider one of the greatest metal shows I've ever seen. Obviously that wasn't the last one for me.
Happy Birthday in heaven(or whatever) Trevor. you were undoubtedly a pillar in the metal community and I wish you well on your journey into the Everblack.

Awesome band! I found this band about 2 years ago and now i have all 5 albums and Deflorate or Unhallowed is probably my favourite one. First song i heard was "Funeral Thirst" and it blew my mind and after the song was over, i was a fan immediately! Can't wait for June!

Some people are afraid to group a band with core elements in with their beloved death metal bands and some fans of TBDM don't like to admit that there are core elements, like it's an insult; they're just descriptors. Every black dahlia album has been excellent, but they're also excellent in their own unique way which is why I love this band. This sounds like it's going to be a nice compilation between Ritual,Nocturnal, and Deflorate with some new melodies as you hear in this fine piece. My favorite band ever.

Don't get me wrong I love Black Dahlia Murder but it seems they have kinda lost their touch..keep in mind this is my opinion and dont speak for everyone. I do miss Shannon Lucas on drums though :[ still a good song and long live TBDM!
I was hoping Shannon would join Battlecross! I thought this album was badass! Look up their song Seppuku though! It's a Japanese bonus track! In Hell is Where She Waits for me and Seppuku are what made me look into this album more. Then this song, Goat of departure, Blood Mine, and Their Beloved Absentee stood out.
I always think it is when John left (old lead guitarist) when Deflorate was released. I dunno, Ritual and Everblack haven't had that same feel I was used to, but they are still amazing. It isn't that it is any better or worse, its just different. And sometimes that is a good thing

Saw them live a couple of weeks ago. Originally didn't know they where playing near me but a friend told me. I would've blamed myself for eternity if I hadn't gone. They are just amazing live. So energetic and just... amazing. If you ever get any chance of seeing them live, don't even doubt.
That progression is like the most accurate thing I've read pertaining to how I got into shit like this. Avenged Sevenfold turned into Disturbed, Disturbed turned into All That Remains, so on and so forth. And now I'm comfortable where I'm at.
Everblack is already one of my favorite albums of the year, but I had to give it a few listens to really get into it and appreciate what they did on it. Besides that I love the more black metal influence on this album which is apparent in multiple songs, it suites BDM really well.
