- The Black Dahlia Murder - "Verminous" Lyric Video. Order: www.metalblade.com/tbdm
New album 'Verminous' is out April 17th!
'Verminous' is The Black Dahlia Murder's most dynamic, rousing and emotional release to date, and it achieves this without compromising one iota of heaviness. "I think this is the biggest evolutionary leap we've ever taken from one album to the next. We stoked the creative fires with 2017's 'Nightbringers' and it's gone much further now in 'Verminous'," states vocalist Trevor Strnad. "It's a very colorful, moody, and charismatic album that experiments with new sounds and ideas without losing the cutthroat Black Dahlia edge. There is a lot of minutiae to digest. Plenty of delicious little Easter eggs woven into the fabric of each song. Each one is a living, breathing entity that will stand on its own as some of the best music this band has ever created." I made the sound effect you hear at the beginning. It's from my D&D ambience : "Sewers" :) That's a honour to be featured in that song and album \m/
Congratulations man! You did a great job

you are a genius
You stream your d&d man? I wanna hear this in it's original domicile 🤷🏻♂️💯
Thank you
I lost my Dad to suicide in 2015, my closest cousin to suicide in 2016. It is a pit, and every day I try to climb out of that pain. Nothing makes sense. I have questions but no answers. I do not wish this on anyone. RIP Trevor. So sorry to all those you're leaving behind.
And if anyone is reading this, and you're thinking about suicide, I can tell you, even if you don't think anyone does.. people love you and will miss you. It is never too late, and never something to be ashamed of, to seek help!
People that are depressed know people love them and miss them. Such a stupid and common comment.
Such a stupid and hateful response.
Thank you Simpvanas. Thoughtful comment. Sorry for your loss and keep your chin up!
Trevor was really aware of his problems. saying it was dangerous for him to be alone with his thoughts during the pandemic. Seeking for therapy with ketamine (the latest breakout in treating depression). Also I can't stop thinking about his song receipt where he mentions hurting everyone you love as you commit suicide. I mean, he did know the impact it would have but suicide for some is a temptation the same as watching p**n or anything else that is tempting to you. there's a chance that they just succumb to the temptation. I wish Trevor was still there and never felt so much for a person I do not know personally it is so sad. Rest in peace Trevor we love you.
Sometimes people truly don’t love you. Sometimes you have absolutely no one in your life. You’ll always have metal though and fuck those you don’t have. Keep living to spite them. We are but rats.

This band is so impressive. How do you produce a record every 2-3 years and still stay relevant and on top of your game? Damn! 🙂
Because they know what their fans like lol. Is this not why you listen to the black dahlia.
Michigan
Almost two decades of non-stop evil
@onewithmyself exactly, none of that "I'm not inspired" or "I have art block" fucking bullshit. It is skill+inspiration, but the latter ain't essential.
2-3 years is a long time for music production. Bands that have their formula down and good chemistry with the other members can write an album worth of material in just a few months.
TBDM never , never disappoint , one of the most consistant metal band ever.
Aborted tops them by far. Tbdm is still really good. I would like to see a show with both of them playing.
@@ryancarthen2198 They played a tour in Australia 2 years ago together, Aborted were amazing, TBDM cranked there sound to much and didn't sound great. I have however seen them 3 other times which were all amazing.
Have they ever released a bad song?
@@machomanpatricksavage8618 In my opinion, no

The timing of this song is poisonous
Its called Verminous; not Venomous
SGillespie1985 lol
@@HeatMyShorts venom and poison are completely different things anyway
@@ferdelance72 Do tell.
Venoms and poisons are the same thing the difference in terminology comes from the route of administration/ method of delivery. If you consume a toxin by way of skin absorption, ingestion, or inhalation it's poison. If a toxin is directly injected it's venom (ie snake bite.)
Again it's vermin not venom so idk why i'm even commenting lol
This is the official music of the Rat Covenant from Dark Souls 2
If it wasn't for soul memory, I'd play more often. I'll stick to dark souls 1 & 3
YES!
Dark 2 was the worst of the best of the "series" but still better than 90% of games i have played. I love Bloodborne too much that i just can't go back to the older slow paced souls
@@TheCnicus Bloodborne is the shit, no question.
Hahahah
Nocturnal came out when I was like 16. Me and my best friend used to jam that album every day on our way to vocational school, smokin Weed and eating those lil chicken breakfast sandwiches Wendy’s used to serve. I just heard the news a few hours ago and I gotta say trevor’s death has hurt me harder than any other musician’s death in recent memory. This band was a crucial part of my young adulthood and journey into metal. I dunno what else to do other than drink and jam their discography until I pass out. The world is a dark place, and it feels like it only gets worse over time.
Y-Yes! These humans know how to play-shred! GLORY TO THE HORNED RAT!!!
Ooooo: Carpathian Forest logo, I got thier t-shirt!

Doesn't seem to make a diss with me I still listen even if some of thier earlier stuff was too hard for me to fathom but I guess it has to do with the ways the songs are structured.

Ivor Stipetić He is talking about the albums with the same style covers, Nocturnal (blue), Everblack (purple), Nightbringers (red), and now Vermnious (green). All these have the same art work. Unhallowed, Miasma, Deflorate, Ritual, and Abysmal all are 1 off designs.

@@tf1331 absolutely man. I dig it
I don't want to be that 'negative comment' guy - but the last few records really scared me due to the lack of production I was looking for. This is a great step back in the right direction. A little more bright then the last few which I think is beneficial to their sound.
@@julesjordan I guess it's all a matter of taste, isn't it... The only album since Nocturnal that sounded a bit off - for my ears - was Into The Everblack. I actually think their sound is quite consistend overall...

I love this band! I'm from Barcelona (Spain), hope to enjoy a concert of TBDM someday! 😍
I'm so ready to run the D&D one shot that comes with this album!!!
Dude, same! Such a cool idea.
Man, as much as I love the classic formula, TBDM is so fucking good when they slow down and actually let the drums and chords stick around and resonate a little longer. It still sounds like dahlia and I think this will be the winning “formula” to remain fresh but also true in the future albums.
Please give us a TBDM album completely drenched in a funeral doom spirit with 70% slow to mid tempo stuff and 30% classic blast beat riddled, technical death metal. More King Diamond inspired riffing and more closed hihat grooves! 10 years ago, I would have said “these things aren’t the makings of a TBDM album” but I’ve heard Wereworm’s Feast and it fucking works.
Rest in Power Trevor
Dahlia delivers time after time, and they always up the game by far with each release. This band has never failed to impress me and it has been a deep love of mine for many years now. I feel like I’ve heard this song before. Instant classic.
BRUTAL!!! Cant wait to buy the new album its gonna be epic!!!!
I know Trevor personally dislikes it, but I really, really like the more contemporary and realistic lyrical themes of Miasma. For me, no gore is scarier than something like "Dave Goes to Hollywood". The bitterness and misanthropy on that record is really really good and showcases his talent for writing smart lyrics alongside stuff like "Receipt", "Asylum" and "Abysmal".
Looks like that makes just two of us bro

Oof, wasn't expecting new TBDM this year. 2020 is going to be lit.
Their first three albums will probably always be my favorites, although Nightbringers came pretty close. I was very pleasantly surprised by that album. This song is fine but it’s missing the catchy, darkly beautiful riffs that I listen to TBDM for.
It's 1 song, chill lol
@@coast.cutter7552 lol it definitely has groove and tech and darkness. i Love the song personally. i also love the fact they just have a new record.
I feel you, the solo was weak in this one and the lyrical content is honestly kind of lame.
Looking back at nocturnal and ritual and deflorate, I can see what you mean.
^
"This is extremely dark and beautiful. That solo oozes both."
Try listening to the solo in Carbonized in Cruciform, it takes you on a journey... it's entrancing. This absolutely pales in comparison on both fronts.
" It's why I respected linkin park even without liking their music. All their fans did was bitch at them to go back to their angsty nu metal days. "
I used to listen to Linkin Park when I was a kid, back around the late 90's and you are right... the fans pestered them non stop but this isn't because they were taking a direction as an artist. They have always followed specific trends. Electronic music was becoming popular when the days of MTV were beginning to fall. The 90's was a pretty edgy decade so when that fell out of style the record label advised them change... which leads me to my real point here:
Record labels are about demographics, I'm sure they as artists want to have complete control of freedom but they don't. The record label also holds creative control.
Look at Metallica as a prime example. St anger was a complete load, (so was load coincidentally). I get what you mean about respecting integrity but when you enter the industry it becomes a career as well. Sometimes change works and sometimes it doesn't. In Linkin Parks case it did because they found a new audience. In the case of a band like Metallica they never really recovered and became a meme because they changed.
Now that the album is out I agree....good album overall but not their best...fav song is removal of the oaken stake
I needed this for 2020
Just a flat out, good song. TBDM never seem to have an off track. Killer stuff. Bring on the new album and PLEASE TOUR UK!!! 🤘
